Winter is Coming
With the approach of evening comes the source of the drumming, and with the drumming, the sound of marching feet. Heinrich Kemmler and his disciple, Capioporpus, command a small horde of undead--every one of the zombies a patient or staff member gone missing over the past months. As Elmwood's motley crew of ghostbusters prepares to face the music, the Corpsetaker seeks to claim a new face, and has set her evil eye upon the most powerful living necromancer on the island--Federal Marshal and licensed vampire hunter Anita Blake.
The wards set in place by Harry and the other wizards will keep the threat at bay for a time, but even so, Kansas' wayward sons will have their hands full trying to eliminate the other spirits that seek to tear the hospital apart from within. As the shadows lengthen, and the defenders tire, the tide of corpses will be turned at last when Dr. Sheehan plays the final ace up his sleeve, using knowledge gleaned from a spirit known only as 'Bob' to call in a favor from the Queen of Air and Darkness herself. For by the laws of Faerie, when the Unseelie Queen accepted the gift of her position among Elmwood's staff, she placed herself however reluctantly in debt to the current lord and master of the hospital.
With her power, a spell would be wrought to tear a rend in the veil, sending all malevolent spirits back from whence they came. Mab stepped through last, closing the breach behind herself and effectively washing her hands of Lester Sheehan. As for the harmless ghosts, such as Casper, and Annie Hawkins, they would linger until sunrise on All Souls Day, when they would say their last goodbyes and melt away like the early morning frost.
((ooc: The ghost plot will conclude on Thursday morning, November 1st. Feel free to play out any final confrontations with ghosts/zombies/etc, whether here or in separate threads. We hope you have enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed putting it together!))
