For the past two nights, drums have been sounding n the distance, echoing from some uninhabited corner of the island like the echoes of some arcane ritual. In the bowels of the hospital itself, foreboding whispers could be heard, warning of a growing madness. If one visited the lower levels now, they might run into familiar faces; individuals who had gone missing over the past few months, whose spirits have become trapped in the dungeons after a fatal encounter with Dr. . Sanford Ellicott's ghost. Meanwhile, the drumming continues to grow louder, closer. Vengeful spirits are coming out of the woodwork to punish those the residents feel have done wrong.
The month of October is halfway through, and things are stirring in the darker corners of the hospital and the surrounding island. Several of the ghosts who have appeared in recent days will try and warn the residents, including Annie Hawkins, RP MacMurphy, and Helena Ravenclaw. Some will make sincere offers to help in whatever ways they can. Others will serve to cause more chaos and confusion. The Grady sisters will also be lurking in the halls, foreshadowing things to come.

As the days turned colder, and the shadows began to lengthen in the afternoon, the veil between Elmwood and the afterlife continued to grow thinner. Several more ghosts slipped through the rift, and after tearing through the hospital trying to one-up each other, took up residence in the kitchens, and the cafeteria.
Three white specters had found and confiscated someone's stash of booze--whether a patient's, or a staff member's was anybody's guess--and were singing sea shanties in voices that would have woken the dead, if the dead were not already waking. The amorphous green glob had plowed through the buffet line, engulfing anything and everything edible that crossed its path, and leaving a slime of ectoplasm in its wake. A certain poltergeist was none too happy about the singing, or the fact that the spud could eat food, while he could not, and began hurling random objects through the kitchen at the others. Only one figure seemed aloof, and detached from it all, and that was the moldy-looking fellow in the distressed vintage suit, who went off in search of more worthy (read: more gullible) haunts.
Who ya gonna call? The ghost with the most, of course.</b>
