it's my party and i'll cry if i want to...
Who: Kozue and ~~the adoring public~~ You
What: Festivities
Where: Bar Kidnap

Why: Because of presents and alcohol.

True to her word, Kozue had established herself in the VIP area of Bar Kidnap—still pretending to be blissfully unaware of the frightening or ominous implications of the name. She hadn't gone to much (or any) trouble to prove that this was a birthday party, however; she was dressed up, in an outfit a bit scantier than her normal going-out attire. She was sporting a green, sequin-covered minidress and a pair of heels of a ridiculous height. And her hair was even more carefully arranged than normal.

The VIP area was situated on a balcony, overlooking the rest of the club; from there, Kozue was engaged in chatting amicably with one of the older girls from the tennis club, but her attention kept drifting to the entrance downstairs. More people should show up. There weren't nearly enough for the party to be genuinely successful. So, every few moments, she cast a nervous glance downstairs.

The club itself wasn't all that packed; it was a weeknight, after all, and if any of the actual grown-up patrons noticed the steady stream of highschoolers, they weren't making a fuss. And the bouncers had either been bribed very efficiently, or were under instructions not to care, either.

Kozue waved down from the balcony; "Hey! Satou-senpai, Akuba-senpai, come on up, the stairs are over there!" She made a wide gesture in the direction of the stairs with one hand—the other was occupied by a glass of something bright colored and probably rather alcoholic. It even had a tropical-looking umbrella in it.

She spared the cape a strange glance, but…it was Kanaye, after all, and he was odd, but also filthy rich, a sports star, and amusing enough that she was pretty sure people would let it slide.

Kanaye smiled and pulled Maeko up the stairs. Once he got to the top, he waved at Kozue again and walked over. He put down the box with his present in it, smiling and winking.

It was wrapped in solid hot pink wrapping paper, but the ribbon was a somewhat more subdued shade of pink. It was rectangular, and looking to be about Kozue's height, if a little shorter. He looked at the heels she was wearing and winced, sitting down. "Seriously, Kozue-san? Those are really high heels. You're just asking to break them when you get drunk."

Kanaye blinked, noticed what he just said, and smirked. "Speaking of which..." he started, looking around yet again. "Where's the glasses?"

Maeko placed her own gift bag next to Kanaye's box. She was terrible with gifts and wasn't really sure what Kozue liked but the knitted rabbit doll she'd chosen was sufficiently not-offensive. And kind of cute with its little rabbit doll-sized hat, sundress and parasol.

She smiled nervously at the mention of alcohol and let go of Kanaye so he could have both arms free if he was intending to pour drinks.

"Thank you for your invitation, Kondo-san." She said, bowing.

"You're welcome. Thank you both for coming," she said, bowing in response, and only after rising casting a curious, slightly covetous glance at the enormous present that Kanaye had arrived with. A box her height? Oh, it had to be awesome. It just had to be.

"You really did bring your own? Uh. Hm." Kozue pursed her lips and thought for a moment, then turned, looking over to one of the other guests. "Hey, could you go see if we can get some glasses? Beer glasses?" She looked back to Kanaye, confirming.

Kanaye bowed in response. "No problem, Kozue-san. It's the least I could do." he said. He smirked again at her glance. "Trust me, Kozue-san, you'll love it." Kanaye was nearly singing.

Kanaye nodded. "Hell yeah I did!" He took off the cape. It jingled. He carefully laid it out on a table with no people. It had pockets on the inside, and inside those pockets were about ten bottles of beer. As he took them out and put them on the table gently, it could be noticed that, though they shared the same bottle type, half of them had a teal packaging, and the other half had a darker blue packaging with an elephant on it.

Kanaye held a bottle of each up proudly. "Delirium Tremens," he announced, holding up the lighter blue, "and Delirium Nocturnum!" He held the other one up. "An amazing pair of beers, if I do say so myself."

"Oooh, neat," she said, looking at the bottles with fascination; "What country are those from? America? I need to try! I definitely need to try one." She grinned, and then took a very large, decisive sip of her current drink, whatever it was. Since she didn't wince after the long swig, it probably wasn't extremely strong.

"And… really? Oh, thank you." Her smile grew; she decided that this would suffice for a place to keep presents, which had been trickling in rather steadily.

	"Wasn't that...heavy?" Maeko asked nervously, tilting her head and frowning. It seemed like that many bottles would be. The bottles had...cartoon characters on them. That meant they couldn't be that bad, right? She busied herself with trying to pronounce the names of the beers, failing horribly. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Kanaye grinned and shook his head. "No to both of you. The beer is from Belgium," he explained, cracking open a Nocturnum bottle and pouring it into three cups slowly, "and it wasn't all that heavy. You get used to it."

As Kanaye finished pouring, he gave one glass to Kozue, one to Maeko, and kept one for himself. "Cheers, everyone!" he announced as he held up his drink.

	"Oh, okay..." Maeko said, nodding. She looked at the contents of the glass suspiciously, as if excepting it to attack. She had no clue what to do here and so decided to imitate what Kanaye was doing (rarely a good idea) but with far less energy so that she could easily take it back if it was incorrect (a better idea). 	"Cheers!" Kozue echoed, raising her own glass in a toast. Maybe it'd be a reassurance to Maeko that her behavior was in key with the socially acceptable gesture. But, then again, Kozue was … Kozue. She proceeded to take a sip; a large sip, but still a sip. The importance of seeming ladylike was still bothering her, it seemed. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	It tasted bad. Maeko was a horrendously picky eater. And, it would seem, a picky drinker. It was all she could he to keep herself from expressing disgust outwardly at the taste. Still, she put on a pleasant smile. It woul be ungrateful not to drinking it but it would probably be acceptable to drink it slowly. "It's very nice, senpai! Thank you." Kanaye was practically beaming. He could help Maeko-chan! It's great! He quickly downed his drink and poured the rest of the bottle into his glass. "Glad to help, Maeko-chan! For not dying!" he offered again, drinking his glass in one gulp. Again. And again. And again.

The disadvantage to dating an alcoholic. They get drunk quickly. "Yo, Maeko-chan!" he shouted, merely a few minutes later. "This place is a blast, right!?" Kanaye managed to make a question sound like a statement. "WHOO!"

	Maeko tried very hard not to be concerned. Failing that, she tried very hard not to outwardly express her concern and was, for the most part, successful. She took another careful sip, placing her glass down to answer. "It's...nice. Yes." She said, nodding. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Kanaye smiled and held out his hand, walking Maeko over to the most secluded part of the club he could find. According to Kanaye logic, Maeko didn't like to do romantic things in front of people. Therefore, she would want to do romantic things not in front of people!

Kanaye decided to test this theory by grabbing Maeko and kissing her rather roughly, slipping a tongue in when he did.

	Kanaye blinked. His logic was NEVER wrong! Except when he was drunk. Kanaye had just noticed he was drunk. This is quite a problem. He also just noticed he was on the floor. When did he get there? 	Kanaye was very annoyed at this, but managed to smile. "No, I'm fine." Kanaye said with a sigh. "I'm sorry for scaring you. I'm just rather...drunk." he responded, not sounding drunk in the least. He walked towards Maeko again, and promptly fell flat on his face. He stood up and tried to bow, but only managed to almost fall again. "Please forgive me." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
