it's my party and i'll cry if i want to...
Who: Kozue and the adoring public You
What: Festivities
Where: Bar Kidnap
When: July 21
Why: Because of presents and alcohol.

True to her word, Kozue had established herself in the VIP area of Bar Kidnap—still pretending to be blissfully unaware of the frightening or ominous implications of the name. She hadn't gone to much (or any) trouble to prove that this was a birthday party, however; she was dressed up, in an outfit a bit scantier than her normal going-out attire. She was sporting a green, sequin-covered minidress and a pair of heels of a ridiculous height. And her hair was even more carefully arranged than normal.

The VIP area was situated on a balcony, overlooking the rest of the club; from there, Kozue was engaged in chatting amicably with one of the older girls from the tennis club, but her attention kept drifting to the entrance downstairs. More people should show up. There weren't nearly enough for the party to be genuinely successful. So, every few moments, she cast a nervous glance downstairs.

The club itself wasn't all that packed; it was a weeknight, after all, and if any of the actual grown-up patrons noticed the steady stream of highschoolers, they weren't making a fuss. And the bouncers had either been bribed very efficiently, or were under instructions not to care, either.

"I'll stay with you there, okay?"

Maeko caught herself before she pointed out that Kanaye probably didn't need to drink more than he already had. There was a limit to how much she was willing to tread the thin ice of 'disagreeing with someone you like' and she'd already reached it for tonight.

Maeko struggled a little under Kanaye's weight but what she lacked in strength she more than made up for in being too stubborn to give up and started to tug him back toward the crowd.

Kanaye felt somewhat better at her words. "Thanks, Maechan." he said. His voice was still depressed, but he leaned off of Maeko a bit.

Once they reached the main party area, Kanaye's face broke out into a huge grin. He broke off of Maeko and ran the few more feet to the table in which he put down the drinks. He fell into the chair, but grabbed a bottle on the way down. Kanaye opened it and drank half of it before stopping to breathe. "That's the stuff!" he shouted, happy again.
