Remus was asleep when Dora finally got up and made her way out of the shack. She had done her job long enough that she had gotten rather good at compartmentalizing when she needed to even if it was only short lived. She moved through the forest toward the cave, knowing almost instinctively where it was. The sky was inky black and the evening still.
Dora knew this time when she entered she wouldn't be returning to this time again. Part of her wondered if this would be a place she ever revisited. It was hard to know if that would be a good option or a terrible one. She looked back regretfully over her shoulder in the direction she had come, her heart hurting at what she was leaving. With a shaky breath she walked into the cave and kept going, coming out the other side to a rainy cloudy afternoon. She immediately started crying with a huge wash of different emotions and was grateful for the rain. She trudged toward the check point for the simulation and was greeted with a few very confused aurors.
Dora finished out her day and then without any further adieu flooed over to Remus' flat. She stood in the living room for several moment and then just sat down on the sofa, waiting for him to appear. She didn't know what to expect.
