Remus had waited so long. So long that the fight was nearly out of him. He had lost so damned much. The werewolf had lost his best friends, he had been condemned by society, ousted from one of the few paying positions he had managed to maintain, and while reunited with Sirius was damned by the darkness that still surrounded them both.
Though he found time to spend with Mr. Black. Maybe even more time than what was strictly necessary. He filled a void in his life that he needed. He could confide in him. Sirius knew who Dora was to him and what it meant to his life. Too often had he denied himself any pleasures knowing that he was waiting for this girl whom he idolized.
Of course his friend was no help most the time. He scorned him for wasting so much time. How he should just act now even before Dora went back in time. Not that his friend had really made up with his old flame, Amelia. But let's face it Sirius was better at giving advice rather than taking it.
All of this was tumbling around in his head as he weighed options that lay heavy on him. He was weary to the bone. So weary that he didn't have any fight left in him right now. He clung to his glass and listened to her words. Though his head jerked up when she said she was going to leave.
The cage tightened around his heart as he reached an arm out, though didn't stand. Did he even have it in him to stand right now? "Dora I..." He swallowed tightly. "I...." What? "Thank you for letting me know." Remus was ashamed of himself.
