Tonks was nowhere even close to a disappointment to Remus. That just wasn't a thing. Was she the perfect picture that he held in his mind all these years? Well of course not. She could never live up to the whirlwind romance they have and the impact that she lay in waste behind her when she left with his heart in tow.
Now hours later for her and a seemingly lifetime for him he was facing a very startling reality. Where did they go from here? He swallowed tightly as he thought of their brief flirtations and romantic interludes in this timeline and how he had pushed her nearly desperately away. Funny how he had grown up a family friend but his real intention was to wait on her to get older so they could be together.
Bit creepy wasn't it?
It was hard for the older werewolf to stomach that thought. How could he live with himself and position that to her family? His close friends? Maybe Sirius would understand but without James here to stabilize him or even Wormtail to give him a bit of encouragement he was floundering all over again. He sighed, finally really looking up at her and watching her with curious eyes.
"Tell me all about it." He got up from his chair but rather than making his way to her to sweep her into his arms he instead went for his good whiskey which he poured the two of them a glass each and extended hers out. "How was it all for you?" He needed this. He needed reaffirmation that this whole idea wasn't made up. He needed to hear her say everything he had experienced. Remus needed validation more than he needed consoling at this moment.
