The emotion in his voice was so raw that she felt her throat start to close up and her eyes got all watery. All these years he had worked so hard to keep distance between them. She had fought and fought against it but he had been stoic almost in his resolve save for those few times before the full moon when he just couldn't resist.
For her it had been hours but here they were now and she could see the pain and longing in his eyes. The years had not been kind. Dora knew she would never be able to erase the losses but she wanted to given him comfort.
"Remus? I wanted to stay with you. Leaving was the hardest thing I've ever done. I would have endured all the losses. I'm sorry I wasn't there." There was so much depth in her voice. She still hadn't gotten any closer to him, but her arms ached in their emptiness. "I won't miss anything else."
