He always pushed her away and it had always hurt. They would get close, things would seem so right and Dora would feel like they hit a sweet spot and then suddenly he would vanish on her and the walls would go back up. He would be reserved, never smile, act like she was a nuisance. That had been the reality for over a year and it was driving her nuts. She had wanted him so badly and she hadn't hidden that fact. Yet somehow he had continually denied her and himself over and over again.
Would that behavior continue? She remember his shaky hands sliding up her body and the look of wonder on his face the first time he pushed inside of her. Could he remember that? Did he miss being with her? She knew how he felt about himself but she was too stubborn to let him apply his fear of a curse to her life. They wanted to be together so they should be.
She folded her arms over her chest, looking around as she thought through their reunion. Was she a disappointment? How long had he known?
He said her full name and she gave him a faint smile. "I feel like I've waited a really long time to hear that John Remus Lupin." She chewed her bottom lip, wondering what was next. Should she say something? Or just wait, let him take it all in. This moment had been years in the making for him.
