Anyone else getting real sick and tired of all this forced Christmas cheer?

Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays, but being told what I have to sing at work is pretty frustrating. Therefore, management shouldn't have been surprised when I sang the Christmas carols I like and not the ones they wanted. Not everyone wants to rock around the Christmas tree, some of us get our holly jollies off elsewhere, you dig?

Even though the Powers That Be at work have outlawed any sort of decoration for any holiday due to some hijinks with a plastic pumpkin, a batch of chemicals, and the fume hood last year, some enterprising and reckless coworkers decided to disregard this ruling.

Today I walked into the lab and saw this.

It's our Chemis-tree. I think it's cute.

My lab partner and I have a bet going on how long it's going to last. She says tomorrow, I say Wednesday.

I just saw a commercial for Versace's Eros cologne. WHAT. IS. THAT? Ugh. There is a picture of some woman on the bottle. I couldn't figure out what that was supposed to be. Apparently, it's Medusa. What is she doing on something with my name on it? That doesn't make any sense to me. Humans...

So, Christmas is soon. Have you gotten my gifts yet?

I can't be the only one who's started taking bets on when Odin might reappear, am I?

Just a friendly reminder - do not sleep with your space heater on. Unplug it when not in use. Same goes for your Christmas decorations. Just unplug them for the night; just to be safe.

Jennifer’s 1993 Bat Mitzvah T-Shirt: Mystery Solved. Exciting stuff. And it makes me wonder what happened with mine. Is the overstock languishing somewhere in my parents' basement? Has it been donated or otherwise been put to good use?

I might have to call them and find out.

But we are forgetting the important things in life. Britney Spears has offically arrived on the strip. How exciting.

Not sure why people are offering condolences or pretending to care. He will be back. And just as wonderful.

Boo hoo hoo. Poor Odin is dead, let's all mourn for him.

I for one am glad to see that loathsome bearded idiot dead. I only regret that I hadn't been the one to devour him.

I'm not sure why everyone seems to believe that people would look to them for blame. I would keep a wary eye out for trouble, but in the position he was in, I doubt whoever killed him will go on a spree.

Well at least he died of stab wounds. If his house had burned down I'm sure everyone would be thinking I did it. Wish I'd thought of it.

But I'll be nice and offer my condolences to his family. So consider yourself consoled.

It's so sad to check the daily paper and see news like that about poor Odin. That one-eyed freak certainly knew how to play... Still, life must go on, and we all know he'll be back eventually.

Now, if anyone needs a little company to help them grieve... well I might just know a girl or two.

Let's be frank here for a moment. I don't care for the Norse much, but regardless of whether Odin's death is part of the largely undefined descriptions of either good or bad, it matters. Right here and now.

So I'll be polite and offer my condolences for the loss of the All-Father to whomever it concerns.

It wasn't me.

I cannot help but feel a sense of surprise when people like me die, especially one like Odin, whom I can only equate to someone as strong like Zeus

I have been in town for a few months now, we should go out for tea or drinks.

What a tragedy! O, so terrible! How will this effect the fragile hierarchy? Who will fight for the crown? Will it be Loki, the not!son, or maybe Thor, in all his mighty mightiness! He could just hammer Loki into the ground, but will their beautiful love light the way to a joint kingdom? Stay tuned.

But I think the most important questions we should ask ourselves are: who will inherit the eyepatch? Do his ravens like shiny things? What's going onto his tombstone? Who gets Octohorse?

Let the blame game start.

Meanwhile, I'll just finish this bottle of wine.
