COLLIGOWEEN '09 ➠ FUTURE-DATED TO THE 31st.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME BALL
The convention center was alive with activity tonight. The locals acted as if an event such as this happened every Halloween, prattling on in their corners and within their groups about the previous year's happenings, from costume winners to drama queens who had made near-scandalous scenes. There was punch and cookies, cakes and candies, and even a bar at the back that served alcoholic beverages to those of age. Within the convention center, all seemed right. Safe. Enjoyable.

But, down below...

Unknown to the residents of Colligo, one Ethan Rayne was currently hard at work in the basement of the building, setting up a spell he knew by heart. It hadn't gone according to plan last time he cast it, but he was confident it would go his way this time -- especially when his way was also The Collector's way.

He glanced impatiently at the clock. 7PM. The Collector said 11PM. In four hours, all hell would break lose in a symphony of chaos.

"Cinderella's leaving the ball a little early this year..."

MOD NOTE: This is the kick off to the ball! Sub-threads can be found within for your use. However, keep in mind that no one knows what Ethan is up to or that he's even in the city. Future-dated to allow people time to get threads going.

THE COSTUME SPELL IS NOT IN EFFECT YET. This is being done in order to give members time to game within the party prior to the spell being cast. When the spell is cast, a new sub-thread will be posted and members will be notified via the OOC comm. SPELL ACTIVATED!

Castiel felt unbelievably uncomfortable. He was only wearing them at Dean's request and only then to stop Dean forcing him into wearing something even more ridiculous. The edges of the wings brushed the sides of the door as he passed through them, the halo bounced jauntily on his head.

The room was an explosion of colour, mostly orange. Images of supernatural beings were scattered about the room, none of them realistic.
Castiel did not want to be there. He would normally had stuck close to Dean but he was still annoyed at the hunter for making him wear such ridiculous garb so he hovered at the back of the group, wishing he was somewhere else.

	Prue walked in, in full Elder garb. She'd gotten a robe and charmed it to be like what she'd heard tell of. She walked into the party, hood off and smiling as she walked in. She spotted someone dressed as an angel and couldn't help but grin more widely as she made her way toward him. "Nice costume," the witch remarked. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Parker hadn't been planning on attending the party. She wasn't the partying type and she certainly didn't socialize if she didn't have to. However, she was bored, and Noah was going, and Claude was going, and Parker disliked being left out of things almost as much as she disliked awkward social gatherings. So, she decided to go.

Picking a costume hadn't been easy. She'd considered just stealing one from one of the nearby stores but had ultimately decided on something a little... different. Especially once she'd found out what Noah intended to dress as.

So it was that she arrived at the party in a blue dress that even she had to admit she looked pretty damn good in. One of her most recent 'acquisitions' - a beautiful diamond pendant - hung from her neck and her hair was slicked back and pulled up in a tight ponytail. Her heels matched the dress and shaped her legs just right. All-in-all, Parker thought she looked pretty hot.

Then again, when dressing as Satan herself, you should look like sin in the flesh, she figured. And that's what her costume was - the Devil with a blue dress on. To accompany Noah, who would be dressed as God for the evening.

Noah, she noted as she stepped inside the building and glanced around, who didn't look like he was here yet. Panic started to swell within her at that realization and briefly she wondered why she had decided to arrive alone. Was surprising him in an outfit like this really worth spending time alone in a party atmosphere?

Catching a glance of herself in the mirror that adorned one wall, she decided that yes, it was definitely worth it. She looked good. Different, but good, and she wanted to show him that she wasn't always all dark jeans and leather jackets.

So rather than flee back out the doors she'd just come through, Parker instead stepped out of the main flow of traffic and waited for any sign of anyone she might know.

This was, Cordelia decided as she stepped into the building where the Halloween party was taking place, one of the first times she'd been at a social gathering and hadn't dressed properly for the occasion. Fortunately the party invite had stated quite clearly that costumes weren't required, otherwise she might have just mingled around outside until the screaming started.

Because it was going to start. Of that much, Cordelia was positive. She didn't know when, how, or why, but she knew by the time the night was over that most everyone within the party was going to be in some sort of distress. It was going to be chaotic. It was going to royally suck.

And she was here, as prepared as she could be, ready to toss herself into the thick of it to try and save what lives she could.

"There are times I seriously hate my job," the brunette muttered as she glanced around, taking in the various possible exits and anything else that might come in handy later. "This is definitely one of those times."

	Angel had a bad habit of slipping suddenly and silently seemingly out of nowhere from the shadows. Old habits died hard, as the vampire, now clad in his usual black-on-black ensemble, plus duster, instead of the Wolfram & Hart monkey suit, did just that, coming up behind Cordelia and picking up on the tail end of her words. Alexis walked into the party, half-happy and half-uncomfortable. She'd decided to come alone which was fine, but she couldn't remember the last time she'd gone alone to a party. Especially a party where she likely wasn't going to remember anyone.

Regardless, Halloween was a family tradition, even if her family hadn't been there to celebrate it with her. She was wearing her prom outfit, along with vampire fangs and trails of fake blood coming from her mouth. It was more understated than she would have been at home, but it was clear. Vampire Prom Queen. She looked around, wondering where the candy was.

Morgana had decided to arrive alone. She was dressed in what she'd been told by a shoppe employee at the mall was nineteen-fities regale, and something similar to what Samantha Stevens of the telly series Bewitched would were. She had refused to dye her hair, cut it, or were a wig. It had taken some doing, however, a hairdresser had managed to stylize and pin-up her hair to a style familiar to Samantha's. She'd even managed to find a locket quite similar to the one the woman tended to wear on the series, and had on a navy blue conical hat, with a red strap around it, (the hat matched her sharp navy blue, outfit), and newly bought broom in her hand.

Over all, she was very pleased with her outfit. She walked around a bit, checking to see if she saw Merlin. Or even Lancelot.

Claire was a little grumpy. Just a little bit, though, because she knew that this was making Echo happy, and that was all she really cared about right now. It surprised her sometimes how much she lived to make Echo and Topher and River happy. Since she'd been ripped away from the Dollhouse, which had pretty much been her purpose in life, she'd changed. Now she took care of her friends like it was her job - friends who had been the girl who was essentially responsible for Alpha's assault on her, somebody she had despised with every fiber of her being, and a complete stranger. Now they were, more or less, her family.

And that was why she was currently dressed as a sheep. With a sheep nose and no dignity.

Echo had had no problem with her costume, though she'd let Doctor Saunders think that she had. She'd found Claire's costume rather amusing but hadn't made a comment other than telling her that she looked like a good sheep. Little Bo Peep would be proud.

The walk to the party had been nice and hadn't taken too long. The place was nicely decorated and if anything, could be a little scary. Either way Echo thought that she'd like tonight.

Scorpius was walking into the party, dressed quite oddly.. even for him. But he'd likely fit in since it was Halloween. He was wearing big, flowing and extravagant wizard robes, complete with pointed cap. He had spectacles over his eyes. And to top it all off, he had a long white wig and fake beard. He probably could be a magic Santa.. or possibly Merlin from the movies. Or any kind of wizard, really.

But the truth was that he was dressed as his boyhood hero. Someone he had only read about, but never met in person since the man was before his time. He was.. Albus Dumbledore, one of two best headmasters of Hogwarts, and one of the two great men that his best mate was named after. Scorpius glanced around as he walked in the room, curious to see the other costumes..

Merlin wandered in cheerfully, quite pleased with his costume, and loved looking at everyone elses. He had come as a ghost, in a white-gray suit, his hair sprayed white, and makeup and powder on his face. He'd stopped his wandering at seeing a man in robe with a beard and hat.

"Hey!" He beamed, and bounded over to the other male. "Are you me? I mean -- Merlin. Hi, I'm Merlin." The teen really liked the robes as well, wondering if he could pull off that look.

"Where did you get those? They're nice, I've just never seen anything like that sold here." Not that he would look decent in them now. He'd look goofy, and no where near as impressive as he imagined they were meant to look.
