Question!

A friend of yours has a problem. A really big, bad problem that makes them do things they don't want to do, including hurting other people. You find out about that problem.

Do you:

A. Try to find a way to help them and support them and be there for them, only giving up if and when it's obvious they can't be helped.

or

B. Be terrible and mean and tell them not to talk to you or anyone you know ever again, then not bother telling any of their real friends about their problem so they can still get some help.

Definitely needing guidance here so if anyone has any experience in something like this, that'd be awesome.

I never said it would be easy. I'm just curious which way most would handle it. Option A seems to be winning so far.

[Tessa]
And I'm sorry about Cas, the other night. He didn't have a right to jump on you like that.

Sounds like people have some pretty good friends around here.

[Parker]
Well, I won't sweep it under the rug and say it's all good, because I'm still a little pissed about the death threat, but I guess I can't begrudge him being protective. Or you. Maybe I overreacted, but just because I'm not human or an angel doesn't mean I don't care about Dean, too, you know?

Looks like.

[Tessa]
He went too far, like usual when it comes to Dean. Besides, Dean's a big boy. If he was upset with what you said, he could've dealt with it. Cas didn't have to get involved at all.

I guess if you spend enough time with the Winchesters, their "all or not at all" way of dealing with things tends to rub off on you.

I shouldn't have let myself get so involved in the first place.

It's more than that, with Cas. He gave up everything for Dean. They have this whole freaky bond thing. It's weird, but works for them. I try not to question it.

It sounds codependent if you ask me. Which is not really stable or healthy. But yeah. Kind of hard to compete with the profound bond.

And I really don't get is why it's ok for Cas to be with Dean and you, but it's not okay for Dean to be with me, or me to be with Dean and anybody else.

But whatever. I should have known better. Once this is all over, I'm done. I won't bother anyone who isn't dead, dying, or comatose.

Oh it's terribly codependent. It took me getting turned into chop suey by Toclafane to even get a sincere invite into the club and most of the time I'm not all that convinced it's sincere.

I don't get it either. I'm fine with Dean being with whoever he wants to be with. I just want him to be happy.

I'm sorry.

I guess if Dean really is happier just being with Cas, then I should quit feeling sorry for myself. If only it were that easy.

It's not your fault. At least I know better if there ever is a next time. Dean has always been the one that got away.
