Build a Buddy Workshop!
Students are sat ALPHABETICALLY. Seating chart is here (Professor is standing at the blank row in front).
Professor Carrow calmly explains that they are going to be adopting the curriculum taught at Durmstrang. He speaks with a quiet authority and ignores and raised hands and says that questions will be answered when there is an answer to be given.
He directs each student to look under their seat to find a blank box. Within the blank box is a teddy bear with a name tag around the wrist! While not every bear is unique, they all have one thing in common: there is a small, dark red plush heart, and the stuffing is not yet sealed. Amycus Carrow insists that everyone makes an academic year wish while holding the heart and stuff it into the bear and sew it back up magically. Once the heart is in there it becomes active, doing it's "trick" just once before settling back down.
Students who refuse to cooperate will be "assisted" by Amycus Carrow in getting their buddy together.
"Time to disarm," says Professor Carrow. "Please direct your wands to your buddies and say it with me--expelliarmus!" And, should the students cooperate, their buddy would being cheering, singing, etc. after being hit with the spell. With a dark smile he suggests that they begin practicing spells on their buddy for the rest of the class time. (Buddies MUST receive some spell -- any spell -- to be active).
