Alchemy

So after a hectic two weeks or so, I'm finally free! I have to apologize for my slowness with anyone I had threads with and I'm very sorry for any I've dropped. I swear I'll make it up to you. (You know who you are, but special apologies to MJ and Willow because omfg I've been so ridiculously slow with you two that I feel awful).

Now that I've got time again, I wanted to jump into things (and omg new people and intros and things I've missed!) So going to throw out my characters again and see if anyone wants anything with them.

Sands

So this pretty boy here is Asher who is a hunter. He was an orphan that was taken in early and then eventually put through the training program.

He's not the religious hunter sort, he's more practical than that and just believes all magic is a danger and a bad thing. So arcanists...you are not spared in that definition.

As for the hunters, he's not the sort that takes orders well, he bristles if he has to work in more than groups of 2 (3 maybe), but he's very good at his job and quite brutal with it. He can be a bit of a dick, and he's curious and probably holds anyone with him back longer to find out more which could annoy them.

Anyway! There's a plan involving Peyton Gray where she's going to save him from something and make him start to look at life philosophies differently slowly (sorry, changing world views isn't overnight and just because he's curious about one arcanist doesn't mean he's not a danger to the others). So sorry Gray family.


Looking for some hunter lines! Maybe someone he partners with regularly? Banter and competition, friends, hopefully people who've known him for a long time or who's family he was adopted into?

Maybe some antagonistic competition with an AP or two would be nice too! Stop stealing his shadowkind targets!

Hey I'm Sands! And this here is Marcus Fawkes, head of the transmutation family (lovingly created with Roz).

Marcus is the eldest of the Fawkes siblings and their family is well...very militant and disciplined. And very musketeers between themselves (all for one, one for all), so they're tightknit and strive for a united front. But they've been raised not to be reliant on their magic. Before they can learn the spell they need to master something similar without the use of magic. If you see them using magic for every day things, they're doing it to master the spell rather than make their lives easier or doing it because they can.

Which makes Marcus a pretty intense guy and close to his family. When it's not politics or business he's sharp and quite wry. Back in Chicago he was a firefighter (lieutenant), it was the sort of job that let him stay physical and gave him experience working with a team and later leading one. He's a practical sort, sharp, and good at thinking on his feet.

Anyway, Marcus has essentially two modes you're going to run into: his wry casual self, or the serious no-nonsense professional. Anything politics and head-like, you're getting the second one. The Fawkes have generally tried to be neutral because they believe that cooperation is key and infighting is frankly stupid, but they've got a close history with the Abjurers and Diviners so they get along there. Plus with their mother (the dentist) as the last Enforcer, now it's Marcus's turn for that role.


That was long and I apologize! But plot! Old/new friends, allies, etc etc. Whatever you have, throw it.
