So for those of you unaware, Aveline and I have bought a house. It's a big one--well, not a big one, nothing like Varric's pile of bricks, but certainly bigger than my two-room apartment. It'll have to be, to fit both of us and our three kids. Well, two of them won't be around for much longer, as I understand it, college and things, but still, we want them to have their own rooms for whenever they are around, so it applies.
The point is, anyone willing to help us move things in and shift furniture and all that will get a night of drinks on me at the Unnamed Pub. Plus our undying gratitude. That goes double if anyone happens to have a pick-up truck.
Once everything is moved we'll be holding one heck of a housewarming party, so don't make any plans for [some future date].
And now, back to manly grunting as I try and lift this couch. |

It is far too cold here. I do not like these winters. In my Antiva City, the winters were short and comfortable, a way to make you appreciate the sun that much more. It has been grey and sad here for far too long. |

Oh, bloody hell, I already have to start worring about Valentine's Day gifts. I just finished giving presents. This is why there are so many copout Tesco chocolates given out, I think. Our brains are all mush.
Alistair, what are you giving your girlfriend for Valentine's? Do you guys have that in Thedas? THEDANS. DO YOU HAVE A HOLIDAY THAT INVOLVES CANDY AND SHAGGING? I mostly just want ideas for my beau. |

Aveline and I are engaged!
Oh, uh, and I've been unkidnapped. Thanks to everyone who was looking for me. I'm fine, aside from having lost my California tan and suffered a severe case of boredom and pizza deprivation. You'd think kidnappers would be humane enough to at least leave their victims with some books or a deck of cards or anything. You can only do so many push-ups, after all.
Still, that was the best rescue I've ever been part of, for all that I was the rescuee instead of one of the rescuers. First two dozen off-duty policemen swarm in--to say nothing of everyone on the perimeter, half the LAPD were there--and then this gorgeous redhead with a sword runs up, kisses me, and asks me to marry her.
Seriously, thanks to everyone who was looking for me. I'm grateful, I really am. I mean it.

I don't believe it. I do not believe it. I have a family. I have a family. With kids, and everything. There's three of them. Or maybe five. But three who are here. And they're terrific. One of them's clearly his mother's boy, he's got her eyes and his brow furrows exactly the same way when he's concentrating, and one of them's got my sense of humor and knack for finding all the wrong things funny, and the third one has to be the most adorable kid in the world.
I can't believe this is my life. How did I get this lucky? If there were a Chantry handy, I'd go sing hymns to the Maker. Well, I maybe not sing, wouldn't want to hurt His ears with my off-key warbling. I'll find something.
Varric, thanks to you and all of yours for keeping a roof over their heads when they got here. I owe you one. I keep owing you one and then never paying you back and instead coming over to eat all of Esmerelda's pancakes, but you know what I mean.
No, I'm not going to stop babbling, why do you ask?
