LIVE BROADCAST from the WPLJ 95.5 radio station in New York City, approximately 5:30pm
95.5 WPLJ, New York City's Hit Music Station, I'm Jack Austin and no, it's not Nine In The Afternoon -- don't adjust your clocks, folks, that's the name of the latest single from Panic! At The Disco's upcoming album. You just heard it first, here on the PLJ.
So why is it that the moment Christmas is over, stores start decorating for Valentine's day? Why is it that the instant the world flips the calendar page from January to February, everybody in the whole damned world goes mental, either obsessing over finding the perfect gift, or moping about because they don't have somebody for Valentine's day?
Oh my gosh, it's February! Apparently the only noteworthy thing to talk about in the month of February is one's opinions about Valentine's day!
Alright, World. What're you going to talk about for the second half of the month, then? Presidents Day? I don't think so. Maybe Leap Day, though. That's something noteworthy. I mean, it only happens once every four years, and this year we get one.
Before you start accusing me of bashing Valentine's Day, I'll make one thing clear -- I don't hate the holiday, I hate the hype. I hate the unsurmountable pressure that falls on the guy to not disappoint his girl on such a fairy tale holiday.
We're gonna get back into the music now, coming up we've got Maroon 5, Green Day, some Jimmy Eat World, and maybe some Avril Lavigne. Gimme a call at xxx-xxxx and tell me what you think, and maybe we'll set you up with some sweet prizes.
