. . . This has to be the weirdest kidnapping in history.

[Studying the journal, she flips it around a couple of times, tapping the egg in the center. She prefers things like cupcakes, but…]

At least it’s cute. But how- [Her brows draw down. How is a journal supposed to actually communicate with others, even through handwriting? She presses the jewel in the middle again, before her eyes widen.

Wait-- those weird ladies said this was the video function, right?]

A-Ahem! Is this working? It seems a little far-fetched for a journal, but…_{Here goes nothing.}

[Drawing herself up, she holds a parasol over her head while she addresses her...journal.]

Excuse me. My name is Yuuki. Listen- I don’t really get the situation here. I was told I had a hotel room, or something, but… I can’t play this game. Unfortunately, I have a number of really complicated things to attend to back home and I can't afford the time to be taken away to... it's called Kiseki, right? So if you know where this really is, then please… any information would be appreciated.

[She bows politely, before rising. An after thought hits her.]

. . . Also I didn't have any money on me when I disappeared. Is that going to be a problem...? [Shoot...]

[So, someone has discovered a particularly cozy spot in the smaller library on the museum island, and she's busy absorbed with a stack of books there when her journal's recording clicks on from across a nearby table. Too busy turning the pages, the unknowing Robin might seem unusually serious to those watching, glasses on and expression quite thoughtful.]

[After a moment, she leans back, sets the book down in her lap and sighs. A set of hands bloom almost absently from the ground up and take the book, replacing it neatly on the shelf beside her, as she turns to another one in the stack herself. The results here aren't much more promising already.]

Strange that there are no traces of anything to be found here. No single mention of this world's roots, of it's true culture, or any historical records. It's the same in the other library, as far as I could tell.

[Hmmmmmmmmm.]

Was it all destroyed?

[She continues turning pages slowly, almost frowning.] No. Even such efforts would leave signs behind. It's difficult for me to think it could have not existed in the first place, but perhaps...

[--And then as she reached for her cup of coffee, the blinking light becomes apparent at last, so she looks surprised and then smiles a little, chuckling under her breath.] Oh... Well, hello.

Maybe that's a reminder I've spent too long indoors today, hm? [Sup Kiseki, how are you all doing today, nothing to see here.]

[It's New Year's! Time to recharge your batteries, start fresh, make resolutions you won't follow through, or curse your luck that you're still stuck in a goddamn sparkly island. Whichever your choice, Miracle Country is set to celebrate and get everyone together.

Starting during the evening of the 31st, the park in the main island, as well as the shopping district and other main areas all around (the Welcome Center, the hotels, etc) will be decorated with lanters, christmas lights, and other colorful things. Even a few stray mistletoes might be found among the mix, although they'll be more rare than before. Tables with all sorts of holiday-themed food and drinks will be set all over the park & shopping district plaza, as well. And by the time midnight strikes, there'll be a huge fireworks display, visible from any point in the islands.

But that's not it!

A few days ago, everyone would've gotten a little note from a Kiseki lady, instructing them on a gift exchange the place has decided to have. How does this work? It's easy - everyone is assigned someone to get a gift to at random. They're meant to attend the end of year celebrations, in order to give that present to whoever was assigned to them.

If they fail to follow through (either they don't get the present or they do but don't go to the party), they'll face some retaliation. Since not wanting to participate in these means you're most likely a big grump, you'll get your own personal grey cloud following you around, in the spirit of old cartoons - it'll randomly rain or snow on you, and getting angry at it will only make it worse. Only through an act of sincere happiness/cheer can you make the cloud disappear.

[It might not be exactly unusual for Kamui to sleep in these days (a bad habit perhaps to have picked up, not that he cares all that much), or for him to just spend the day bumming at home... but it's certainly an odd sight when the recording turns on late into the day and he's still practically buried under the covers. It makes even less sense when it's clear that he's alone for now (Fuuma has a job and all, somehow the more responsible of the two of them), seemingly dead to the world.]

[When he stirs, it's clear this is not a turn for the better in his case. He groans.]

Hnn.

I am... absolutely... not in the mood for this.

[Those watching can certainly hear his weak grumbles, just as his hand reaches out from the bed and -- bumps his journal onto the floor. Fuck. That gives way for a pretty clear view to Kamui's bleary and red face, his bangs messed up and sticking to his forehead from the attempts his body makes to try and sweat out this sudden fever. He stares at nothing for a while, groans again, before opting to ignore writing in the journal for help, not realizing it's doing the job for him already. Another grumble follows.] Can't concentrate like this, anyway.

[Through some great display of effort (or more like stubbornness?) he finally drags himself to sit up on the bed, pausing again at the dizzying feeling this brings. Even marred by sickness, his entire demeanor seethes with annoyance.]

Stop it. There's no sense to this... kind of stupidity still, is there?

... Ugh.

[Damn it, Kiseki. And of course, as Kamui finally stands up and stumbles his way over to the bathroom, the cherry on top of his incredibly unfun start to this day reveals itself--]

[--When he's stopped halfway there and can't take another step. Not because the magical sickness is too much, no. One of those troublesome little plants from the past few days wanted to say hello too! And leave him stuck there in the room to collapse again as the video cuts out just before he can let out an unpleasant curse for everyone to hear.]

[Tonight, all artificial lights in Kiseki will go out, to allow for better viewing of the shooting starts that will fall during the entire night! The park(s) will have blankets and some cushion set out, and everyone is welcome to go outside and watch them.

And it's not just the pretty lights, no. If your character makes a wish, there's a chance it will become true. Even if they wish for impossibles perhaps it'll be granted even in a small way.

Say someone wishes to meet a friend who's back in their world, for example. They wouldn't get to meet that person, but they might receive a small token of them - maybe a picture, or a personal item of them! You can wish for other things, of course, food or clothes or whatever. Get creative, and if you're unsure it's always fine to simply check with the mods.]

[Hello, Kiseki residents! Have you had enough with the constant changing already? Were you done with this world before it all even began? Well, Kiseki doesn't care.

This time, it's even the usual setting that seems different. The trains are now announcing each island as they stop on them. The shopping district now has a giant bunny fountain in it.

And more importantly, the school has been altered entirely. No longer the small, humble building it once was, it now offers a much larger variety of lessons (the usual - maths, science, history from various worlds, and so on), taught by creepy voices in monitors. Students will now have uniforms, and share lessons regardless of age...

And even if your character doesn't want to attend it, they might not have much of a choice. Some of them will be randomly sorted into attending classes (fully or part-time), or even into teaching a class.

Whichever it is, feel free to explore the revamped areas, complain loudly, and mingle as usual. ... And maybe notice that there're small baskets with toasts available at various places all over the islands, each with a little note on them saying "You're late".]

[As previously announced, Kiseki will be undergoing some changes for this year's Halloween!

Enjoy the pumpkins, the misty forests, the ghosts, the abandoned castle and the killer bunnies, because Miracle Country clearly will.]

[Nighttime brings back with it a certain dark-haired girl dressed in a long and heavy coat, a covered up sword slung across on her back, who is currently staring down at the journal from somewhere in the city. Her eyes seem more distant than anyone in Kiseki will remember them, perhaps colder but at the same time worn deeply by something like sorrow--something she could not or would not begin to explain aloud.]

[Her lips part, slowly.]

This place is...

[She remembers now. Part of her questions it almost as a gut reaction, but the memories are there, in full whether she accepts them or not. Whether she forgot all of it outside of Miracle Country. The memories of the people here especially, both those she knew "outside" and the "friends" made... It's a strange feeling as it all streams back in.]

That all that time could pass and I would still be brought here again. Am I to believe it is truly real?

[You always can't hear what she adds, to herself.] Could I?
