Empire Ants

For my parabatai, perkyshadowgirl, who is even more epic than Joong's smirk (and that's pretty damn epic). Happy belated birthday! Sorry I didn't get these done on time, but you get 99 extra because I fail at numbers so... everyone wins? 💕

My parabatai's bias for an ever so slightly belated birthday gift~ 💖 I love you, bb, and here's to another decade-plus of being besties!

"I'll make totally serious icon sets and be productive on this comm," I said to myself. And then this happened. Idk man, we could all use a fun cosplay in our lives, right?

Forgive the wide variety of quality. Finding images of this costume was hard af; I think he only wore it for one performance or event.

I did it for the blue-streaked hair... even though there are far more icons of other colours in this set. 🤷‍♀️ Features quite a few with my precious Lee Minhyuk (Huta) from some appearances on Bikira and a couple with his Teen Top bandmate Choi Jonghyun (Changjo).

The fourth of five sets I made of the Brazilian Instagram model Mia Alves. This particular set is sourced directly from her Instagram account. The youngest she may be in these is 19 based on when she created her account, but the vast majority are in her 20s so I'm not dual tagging age.

This set contains icons with dyed hair and wigs, as well as a few artsy things.


( I did this set solely to have an excuse to icon the ginger hair at the end tbh. )

Idk what happened to my download of this video, or VLC, or... whatever part went wrong in the process, but I had to trash about a quarter of the caps made and over half the icons because they were just too fuzzy and low quality to justify saving. It looks fine on YouTube, even on a 4k television, so... That's weird af. Maybe I caught all the off-frames or something? I mostly did these to capture Ethan being a flaily dork, though, and I think I managed alright. Or at least alright enough not to endure the effort of re-downloading and re-capping.

This all began with a random photo my parabatai found wherein Betty's hair looked blue from the lighting. Her Betty happens to be in a relationship with my Toni, which means this line of thinking kinda spiralled out of control and became Betty should dye her hair. But where were we going to find blue-haired icons? Exactly. Thus, I volunteered faster than Katniss when Prim was reaped and these icons were born.

It only took like a week of hand-painting the hair (and occasionally shirts/makeup) and individually adjusting the lighting on some of my previous icon sets to create these. This is a thing sane people do... right?

There's a surprising variety of expressions here (and in the first set) from smiling to goofing off to grumpy and some really niche things - like drinking from a gigantic bottle of water - in between. That's my excuse for the absurdity, and I'm sticking to it.

Microexpressions! I got overwhelmed with pruning these and just rolled with everything that made a reasonably clear icon. I'm sorry both to my future self and anyone else who has to pick icons from this set... which was actually large enough I had to break it into two pieces even with my new post format. Oops~
