Empire Ants

Look. It might not be obvious because my icon quality is tanking lately along with my mental energy levels, but Peniel is a major inspiration for me so these sets are kind of a labour of love. Also, I have a major weakness for nail art, so the last 41 of these are literally just closeups of his various manicures.


( If you set a deadline for a certain goal, like a life goal, and it's like 'Oh I'm gonna have a house by 30 and be married and whatever,' it's like you're setting yourself up for failure. )

There isn't much to say about this set other than I suddenly want to re-watch Veronica Mars... again. Made with one of my new-ish muses in mind, these icons are one of what will ideally be many sets covering all of Weevil's appearances in the first two seasons.

The internet needs more love for Weevil, okay. Actually, for that matter, so does the show in general, but only one of these problems is something I can solve. So, by the magical power of Photoshop, I bring to you more icons of Francis Capra as Eli "Weevil" Navarro in Veronica Mars.

This icon set features every Weevil sighting in season one, episodes two through six. If you're curious, that means episodes 1.02, 1.03, 1.05, and 1.06.

If the lighting and colouring of Riverdale are hell to fix, then those of Veronica Mars are like two hells at once, coated in that colourful cellophane you put on pot luck dishes around the holidays. Seriously, who decided it was a good idea to oversaturate the yellows in every scene using more or less the same exact shade as the undertones of a character's skin? Who? They should feel bad for doing that. I had an absolutely miserable go at trying to find a balance between making sure I don't accidentally whitewash Weevil and trying to get icons that don't make me wonder if I've gone colour blind.

These were made before I discovered a helpful trick with photo filters, so they're a little more questionable in quality than future sets - at least in terms of saturation and skin tone accuracy - but I don't think they're terrible or anything. So here you go, yet another set made entirely because I have a new muse who needs icons.
