WHO: Verity Weasley & Trevor Scabior WHAT: cousins meeting up again WHERE: Diagon Alley WHEN: 22 June 2003 WARNINGS/RATING/STATUS: None/PG13 for cursing?/Ongoing
Thanks to Fred and George's new journal designs, the shops were experiencing a bump in business, people rushing in to get the latest new thing. On one hand, it was good, bringing customers (and money) in. But on the other... it made for a very long day. Waving to Fred and gesturing outside, Verity handed the register over and slipped through the crowd, out into the street.
Leaning against the shop window, she debated where to eat, trying to figure out what she was in the mood for when something caught her eye. Someone rather. A familiar figure weaving his way through the people enjoying the sunlit Alley.
It couldn't be.
Instinctively pushing off the wall, Verity followed the man, her mind not accepting what she was seeing. He was dead, wasn't he? She hadn't heard from him since before the Battle, not a word in five years. He had to be dead.
"Trevor?" she rushed ahead and caught up to him, grabbing his arm to stay him. |

Potter Statue to be Unveiled Stenton Fenley
The proposed statue of Harry Potter, the hero of the Battle of Hogwarts and the boy responsible for the defeat of Voldemort, is set to finally be unveiled this weekend at Memorial Park.
Problems have plagued the unveiling of the commissioned statue, which is to stand on the large fountain in the center of Memorial Park. Originally intended to be unveiled on Victory Day at the park’s celebration, foul weather brought the ceremony to a halt. However, Park Supervisor Reginald Cattermole has stated that the ceremony will most certainly proceed this coming Sunday.
Go Underground for Charity Erastus Saint
As many already know, Club Underground, one of the newest additions to Memorial Alley, announced on Victory Day that they would be the host this year of a charity auction in conjunction with Weasley Wizard Wheezes and the Memorial Alley Muggleborn Aide Office. So, if you’re asking yourself where you should be on Friday the Second of July, the answer is most definitely “at Club Underground!”
Emcee for the event will be popular wizarding personality Lee Jordan and there will be performances by some of the top names in wizarding music. though the list is being kept as a closely guarded secret, Lorcan d’Eath has announced that he plans to be in attendance as have several members of the Weird Sisters! Of course, most importantly, there will be an auction with items donated from some of the most popular shops in Diagon. There are even rumours that several dates with celebrities will be auctioned off throughout the night.
The queue for the event begins at seven in the evening, and the cover charge is 5 galleons. All proceeds from the cover and from the auction, of course, will be donated to the Muggleborn Aide Office to help fund their ongoing projects.
Weasley Wizard Wheezes Announces New Line of Journals Paulette Freesome
Known not only for their own impressive products but also for vast improvements on the floundering products of others, Weasley Wizard Wheezes has released a new line of journals attached to the popular wizarding journal network.
“We used to use them all the bloody time,” said proprietor Fred Weasley, “now it’s all trash and advertisements. I know there may be some bad memories attached to them, but there was a time when they were dead useful. And, more importantly, fun!”
The new journals, which come in a variety of psychedelic designs of shifting colours, are the Weasley’s attempt to revitalize the once popular communication network. Some, however, are hesitant to switch to the newest model.
“I’ve used my journal every day since 1997,” said Flourish & Blotts customer Lorraine Zendel, “I don’t see any reason to get a new fancy one.” |
