log: meghan and oliver
Who: Meghan McCormack and Oliver Wood
When: TBA
Where: Oliver's flat
What: Celebrating
Rating: Mostly PG-13
Open/Closed: Closed to them

It didn't take long at all for Meghan to find herself on Oliver Wood's doorstep once the announcement had been made. The national team rosters had been announced and she and Oliver were both playing for Scotland. It was a great honor, for both of them, and aside from Penny, she couldn't think of anyone she'd rather celebrate with.

Without stopping to think of who might see her or what they might think, Meghan grabbed a large bottle of good Scotch whisky and apparated over to Oliver's flat. It was still off to think of it as just Ollie's place after it had been Penny's for so long, but that was a different matter entirely and not something she was going to dwell on.

Instead, she held the bottle firmly in one hand while raising the other to the door to knock.

"Thought y'might be in the mood for a drink," she drawled, grinning like a madwoman when he finally opened the door.

Oliver had been on cloud nine since finding out about the World Cup rosters. It had always been a dream of his to play in the World Cup, even if it meant that he'd have to play for another country. He just wanted to play.

But thankfully it was for Scotland, AND Meghan was on the team with him. Hell, she could've been the one to make starter and he would still be excited to just be involved with the team. Hopefully she wasn't going to be upset about being reserves, but he was going to make sure she played in a few games. All the reserves should, just to get the experience.

So he was less than surprised when he found Meghan at his door with whiskey in hand. Oliver picked her up and spun her around into the flat. "We bloody made it!!!!"

And not even caring if they were in an on or an off period, he kissed her properly.

Meghan didn’t even care that she was on the reserves. She was on a National team. She was going to get to play - or warm the bench - at the bloody World Cup and she was on the same team as Ollie. That was fantastic news, because it meant she’d be seeing a lot of him, between practices and games and no one could bitch, because for a time, at least, they were going to be teammates. It was freaking brilliant.

She almost dropped the bottle when he picked her up and swung her around, but she didn’t care. She laughed and squealed like a little girl as her arms flung around him, one hand still holding tightly to the neck of the bottle.

“We did!!!!!” She nodded, the smile on her face absolutely giddy. Who cared about the status of their relationship in the moment? Meghan had never been very fussed about labels anyway, and when Ollie pulled her into a proper kiss, her first instinct was to return it. The whisky had been a brilliant idea, of course, but really was there a better way to celebrate than a good snog?

Oliver was grinning the entire time he kissed Meghan, and while he would've just liked to have kept on snogging, there was drinking to be had!

"Shots!" he said, finally putting her down, but snuck in a quick peck on the lips before he ran to the kitchen to get them two shot glasses. "I seriously haven't been able to sit down since getting the news. I ran through the building, and around it, then just had to do stuff to keep myself busy. I think I cleaned my room, then tore it apart, then cleaned it again just to try and wind myself down. It hasn't worked. I'm so excited!!"

He took the bottle of whiskey from Meghan and poured them each a shot, then held his own to her. "To being the best bloody keepers in Scotland!"

The grin on Meghan’s lips was just as wide as she held onto him and kissed him. How long had it been? It felt like an age, at least, possibly more, and it was an understatement to say that she way enjoying kissing Oliver again. They’d had their reasons for calling things off (all the times they had), but it certainly hadn’t been a lack of attraction or because kissing Ollie wasn’t easily one of her favorite past times when they allowed themselves to indulge in it.

She giggled like a schoolgirl and nodded her head as he set her down, nodding as he spoke, giggling again as she pictured him running around like a madman. She knew what he meant. She understood perfectly how he’d felt getting the news, even if she was only a reserve. That was why she’d headed over here - she’d wanted to celebrate with the one person who would completely get exactly how giddy she was over this.

“The best bloody keepers,” she echoed, clinking their glasses together before she pulled hers to her lips and downed it. The liquor burned as it rolled down her throat, but she didn’t care. She just grinned at Ollie again as she held out her glass for more.

It burned down Oliver's throat too, which reminded him why he was glad he wasn't Irish. But he didn't care. There was much celebration to be had and he couldn't think of a better person to spend the evening with.

As he poured them both another shot, he watched Meghan as she laughed and grinned and it reminded him how cute she was and how much he hated the whole on and off relationship. He really just wanted to be with her (as he realized when he tried exploring other options when they were in one of their longer off periods,) and he really hoped that the two of them being on the same team for a month or two would make the fans forget about rivalry and make them see just how good they are together.

He took down the second shot, grimacing as he did so, then laid his shot glass and the whiskey on the counter. Once she was done with her shot as well, he took a step closer and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Why are we doing this?" he asked. "I mean, not this right this second, but playing these on and off games. Why can't we just say sod it all and be together?"

Meghan felt the same way. She couldn't think of a better person to spend the evening with, she didn't know why they couldn't just say to hell with the fans and their teammates and just make it work. She hated the idea of him with other birds and it wasn't like it was easy to keep personal lives private and that she didn't know that he was probably doing.. whatever with girls who weren't her when they were in their off periods. That didn't mean she liked it, though, just because she managed to not act like a jealous bint about it when she knew she had no right.

She made a face of her own when the second shot when down and while she wasn't nearly done drinking, yet, she didn't protest when Ollie set down his glass and the bottle and pulled her close again. Her own shot glass was laid down, too, soon forgotten and she chewed her lip thoughtfully as she considered his question.

"Because we're both deeply stupid?" she offered, trying to keep her tone halfway light, though she wondered the same thing. Why couldn't they just be together? Why did it have to matter what anyone else thought? Right now it was easy to push aside the distant complaints of fans and agents and teammates and only think about how much she wanted to be with him.

Anything that happened with other girls was when he was definitely not sober. And he always woke up the next morning first asking why, then wondering why it wasn't Meghan laying next to him. Granted it wasn't a lot of girls (just one or two) but it was enough to make him see that it really didn't matter what the rest of the people thought about their relationship. They were obviously meant to be together, and being teammates just proved it.

Oliver tried to find something else to say, but instead he just kissed her again, deep and passionate. When he pulled away, he rested his forehead against hers. "I really just want to be with you. I say tomorrow, after we wake up from post celebration hangovers, we go out on the town and make sure that anyone who knows us knows that we're together and nothing is going to stop us this time."

Meghan had never really believed in fate and she wasn’t really one to get incredibly serious, but somehow she’d become attached to Ollie, incredibly so. She missed him during these off periods. She still saw him as a friend, of course, but it wasn’t the same when she had to keep things platonic and she missed him. She missed this, something as simple as just having his arms around her.

When he kissed her again, she returned it. Meghan couldn’t deny the butterflies that danced happily in the pit of her stomach or the warm feeling that spread through her to her toes as her lips moved against his. She wasn’t great at talking about how she felt, but she hoped that kiss left little to no doubt that she felt the same way about him.

Just in case, though, she nodded her head. “Alright,” she breathed. Rather than say anything more, she leaned up and pressed her mouth to his, pulling him into another kiss.

Oliver chuckled at her reaction, but before he could say anything else, he was kissing her again and he was more than okay with that. Yes, Meghan was a great friend when they weren't dating, but Oliver rather liked the dating part too. It meant he got to do this whenever he wanted.

His lips moved away from hers, only to find their way to her neck. "Let's," he muttered against her skin, "have one more shot. Then we can continue this...conversation..." Not that they were actually having a conversation, but he was pretty sure Meghan would understand what he was getting at.

“One more shot? Wood, who’s going to help me finish this bottle if you’re only having one more shot?”

She was teasing, of course, and her eyes danced with humor. She knew exactly what he was getting at and she had no desire to object. Yeah, when she’d come round to Ollie’s flat, it had been with the intention of them drinking until there was no whisky left to be drunk, but it was funny how quickly plans could change. Apparently, there were nicer ways to celebrate.

That didn’t mean she wasn’t going to take a moment to tease him, though.

Oliver laughed and looked at the bottle. It really wasn't going to drink itself. And that was a lot of alcohol to let go to waste. "Well here then," he said, getting two bigger glasses and some cola out of the fridge. He poured them each a glass about half full of the whiskey, then topped it off with the cola. "Our conversation may make us thirsty anyway," he told her, topping off both of the glasses with some ice.

He handed Meghan a glass then took a drink of his own, satisfied with the taste being masked by the cola.

"So where were we then," he smirked, pulling her back against him, reattaching his lips to her neck, his glass in his free hand.

“I like the way you think,” she grinned as he grabbed some cola and a pair or larger glasses, pouring them both a drink. Truth be told, she loved just being with him and she would have been happy no matter what they were doing, but finishing off the bottle while they finished their “conversation” was just about the nicest way she could imagine to spend their time for the next few hours, at least.

“Hmmm, right.. there, yeah I think there is good,” Meghan murmured distractedly when his lips fastened to her neck again. That felt unbelievably good. Maybe it was the alcohol or maybe it had just been far, far too long, but Meghan hummed her approval as she thought that he should definitely do a little more of that.

Oliver kissed and sucked along her neckline, taking that the little hums were of the satisfied kind. "I say, we have a contest," he mumbled against her skin. "Whoever finishes their drink first has to..." he pondered while switching to the other side of her neck "be undressed by the loser. But the loser has to do it with their eyes closed."

He wasn't even sure how much of a contest it really was. But it would at least get them both drunk by drinking their whisky faster, and get one (or both) of them naked. Really, it was a win win situation.

Meghan smirked at his suggestion. She really couldn’t see a downside to this plan, either way. “I hope you’re prepared to lose , Wood,” she told him and she pulled her glass to her lips to take a long pull from it before taking a moment to press her lips to the line of his jaw. Not that she wouldn’t consider it winning either way, but she had a competitive streak that made her determined to win.

Although, it was easy enough to get distracted from that goal. The feel of his skin under her fingertips as she played with the hair at the base of his neck, the taste of his skin under her lips as she kissed over his jaw a little more - that was more than a little distracting.

Oliver closed his eyes and bit his lip when she kissed his jaw and played with his hair. Merlin that was enjoyable. "No way am I losing," he breathed, then finally had to pull away before they both became too distracted.

Seeing that her glass was a bit lower than his thanks to the drink she just took, he took her glass and poured some of his own in it, making them even. "Alright, that's better. On the count of three. One...two..."

But before he could say three, Oliver started drinking with a smirk plastered across his lips. Though he wouldn't be surprised if Meghan caught up and beat him.

Oliver wasn’t the only cheater in the room and Meghan was lifting her own glass to her lips before he was finished with his count to three. For one, she wanted to win. For two, why wait to drink perfectly good liquor? Either way, she was tipping the glass back and drinking from it as quickly as she could.

“You are a cheater, Wood,” she accused him when she sat the empty glass back down again moments later. She was grinning, though, obviously not seriously upset with him. It wasn’t like she wasn’t just as much of a cheater. It also wasn’t like she really minded, because they were having a good time and that’s what was important.

He slammed the glass onto the counter a half second after Meghan and shook his head. "We both cheated, you cheater," he laughed as he poured them each another glass. "Fair game this time, we really will start on three, okay?"

Oliver squatted down and looked at both glasses to make sure they were even, then lifted his up. "Okay. Ready? One, two, three..." and once he said three, he started to chug, watching as Meghan did the same.

“Fair? Fair is for Huffepuffs.” Meghan pretended to pout, but it quickly turned into a grin and she waited until he’d called out three before once again chugging the drink in her hand. This time, it seemed to end in a draw as they each set down their glass at about the same time.

“What happens if we tie?” she asked him with a smirk. “That mean we gotta undress each other?” That was not a remotely unpleasant concept at all, actually. Even if the competitive part in her still wanted to win. Being able to drink your boyfriend under the table was good for the ego or something.

Oliver smirked when they slammed their glasses down. "I think that sounds like a brilliant idea, actually. There's still a little bit of whiskey left though," he said, looking at the bottle. He poured them each one more glass, then failed miserably to cover up a belch. "'cuse me. I'm ready to go now," he grinned.

The gentleman in him wanted to let her win, if only because it could be fun trying to feel his way around her - literally - while blind and intoxicated. But his competitiveness was telling him otherwise.

The glasses weren't nearly as full the for the last try, but that was just going to make the process easier. "Okay, last one. One, two, three..."

“I am pretty brilliant,” she grinned. She thought it was a fantastic idea, herself. She was still determined to win, though.

Meghan laughed at the belch, then grabbed her class and held it ready. It wasn’t technically cheating, was it, that she had the glass at her lips the instant he’d started to say three, but maybe a little before he’d completely finished getting the word out. Her glass wasn’t even completely full and it seemed like no time at all when she was setting it back down on the counter, grinning triumphantly.

Oliver groaned when he saw that she won, but it was more of a competitive groan. Either way, at some point the both of them were going to be naked and he was more than okay with that.

"You're cute," he said, then planted a quick kiss on her lips. Before she could reply, he swept her up into his arms and carried her into his room, setting her down gently onto the bed. "So, do you trust me to just keep my eyes closed, or do you want to blindfold me?" There was an obvious guess to this answer, but he wanted to ask anyway, wiggling his eyebrows when he did.

“I’m cute,” she agreed. It was possible she was a little intoxicated now. “You’re cute, too.” Meghan giggled when he picked her up. Apparently, she was easily amused at the moment.

“Oooh, I can blindfold you?” Meghan pondered the idea for a moment. That did sound tempting, in a way. In the end, though, she decided she was far too impatient to go through the trouble of finding and attaching a proper blindfold. “Tempting, but too much work,” she voiced her decision out loud. “I think I’ll just trust you.” With that, she wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into a deeper kiss. “You lost, love,” she slurred against his lips. “You should really get on that undressing me now...”

"Hmmm really..." he hummed against her lips as they kissed. He was definitely feeling the alcohol as well, and he could hear it a bit in his slurred words.

So, Oliver closed his eyes and started kissing down Meghan's neck to her shoulder, moving a strap of her tank to be relieved that there was no bra involved. He had issues when he was sober and eyes opened getting those damn things off. His lips moved down the scoop of her tank as his hands did the opposite, moving inside and to her chest. He moved his hands around, feeling as much of her skin as he could, then gripped onto the seams of the tank to lift it up and over her head.

“Mmhmm.” Meghan smiled against his lips as they kissed, letting out a soft little whine when he pulled his lips from hers, though she certainly didn’t hate having them pressed to her neck or her shoulder and she was smiling again as she hummed her approval.

“Mmm, not bad, Wood,” she murmured, her arms shifting as he lifted up on her shirt. It could have been fun to play a little and make things difficult, but the truth was that she was eager to see the shirt on his floor. His hands on her skin felt good. They reminded her of how good it could be between them and once the material was out of the way, she was slipping her hands under his shirt, letting her fingertips dance lightly over his chest.

Winner or not, she rather thought it was about time she get to removing his shirt as well. It was in her way. With that in mind, she gripped set to work on ridding him of that piece of clothing as soon as possible.

Oliver was more than okay with Meghan trying to get him out of his clothes. In fact, he was generally over their bet and just wanted the both of them to be naked at this point.

He sat up for a moment for her to take off his shirt, watching as it was tossed to the floor. "I'm cheating again," he commented about his eyes being open. But he shrugged his shoulders and settled back atop of her, pressing his lips to her chest, kissing and licking and sucking around each breast, his fingers wrapping around the waistband of her pants. Oliver tugged on them and slipped them down her legs, his lips moving down her chest to her belly as he did so.

In no way was this their first time together, but Merlin it felt like it had been ages since the last.

When had been the last time they had done this? Meghan was a little fuzzy on the exact date right now, but it had felt like about fifty forevers. She wasn’t sure if it was that fact or the alcohol that made it feel so amazing right now, but either way she wasn’t going to complain. She was enjoying herself too much.

“Don’t care,” she muttered as he commented that he was cheating. Her hands pulled at him eagerly as he settled back over her. Their little contest didn’t matter now. All that seemed to matter was this, them together. “Merlin, I missed you,” she murmured, letting out a soft gasp when his lips pressed to her breasts. Her hips wiggled to help him with the process of removing her pants and her hands reached for the waistband of his, intent on returning the favor. The object of this game had been to get them both naked, right? Meghan thought so and she thought they couldn’t possibly accomplish that quickly enough.

"I missed you too," he said with a whispered breath. Oliver agreed that the whole point of the game was to get naked, so once he managed to get Meghan out of her pants, he sat back to let her undo his own. Once she pushed them down a bit, he flopped back on the bed, drunkenly giggling as he shimmied himself out of them.

Both of them now generally naked, Oliver retook the position he was previously in, kissing his way down her belly to her inner thighs. Really, he wanted to just tear off her knickers, but he was trying to seem not so rushed about it. So he teased her, crawling back up to kiss her deeply, but letting his hand brush across her already slightly wet panties. "Aye, I'm not leaving this time," he told her in between kisses. And he truly meant it. They were great friends, and even better lovers. How could anyone go wrong with that?

Meghan smiled at that admission. It wasn’t something she needed to hear out loud, but she didn’t hate hearing him say the words. She wondered how they could have been so stupid about this for so long. Everything just seemed to make so much more sense when they were together. Maybe it was just easy to feel like way here, alone, with no fans or teammates to cast doubt on it, but right now this felt so right.

“Mmmm,” she hummed her approval as his lips pressed to her skin, whining a little when he pulled away from the sensitive skin of her inner thighs to make his way bak up to her. She couldn’t really complain, though, because he was kissing her again and it was a kiss Meghan eagerly returned. Her fingers played at the back of his neck, toying with the little bit of hair right there as her lips worked against his.

His hand brushing over her panties yielded a moan of encouragement and she smiled when he told her he wasn’t leaving this time,“Good,” she answered, her voice a little husky with emotion before she pulled him back into the kiss.

Frankly, it was time they finally got down to business. Pulling away from the kiss, he rolled over and grabbed his wand from the nightstand, gave it a flick and muttered a spell, bringing down all the lights in the room except for an ominous glow, giving the room a better mood overall. Grinning, he rolled back into the bed and grabbed his bedsheets, pulling it over the both of them, then lowered himself back into the kiss for the start of what he hoped would be an amazing night.

The next morning, Oliver rolled over, his head reeling a bit, but then he remembered that he had a beautiful woman in the bed next to him. Letting out a satisfied, yet slightly annoyed over his headache groan, he wrapped his arm around Meghan's waist and pushed his body against her, lightly kissing her shoulder. He wasn't even sure if she was awake - hell he wasn't even sure if HE was awake - but the gesture made him smile as he nuzzled up against her.

It took a few moments for Meghan to really become aware of the pounding in her head, because that sensation was being overridden by a much more pleasant one. There was a warm body close to hers and she rolled towards that warmth without opening her eyes. “Mmmmm,” she hummed happily at the kiss to her shoulder. Awake probably wasn’t a good term for what she was at the moment. She was content, though, well aware of just who she was lying next to.

After a moment, she opened her eyes to look at him, immediately wincing against the sharp pain in her head. “Oh, ow... and drinking that entire bottle seemed like such a good idea at the time.” She tried not to think about the hangover, though, or the rank morning breath she probably had right now, as she nuzzled a little closer. Headache aside, this really was a perfect way to wake up.

Yep, it finally hit Oliver that his head was pounding. This time, he groaned because of the pain, not because he was awake. So instead of the two of them lying around in pain, he rolled over and went to the loo where he kept some hangover potions in a cabinet. Realizing on his way back that he was still very naked, he chuckled quietly so not to hurt his head anymore and handed a bottle to Meghan. "Here, love. This should help."

He sucked down his own bottle, tossed it into the wastebasket near his bed, then laid back down next to Meghan. "Morning," he moaned. "That did seem like a good idea didn't it..."

Meghan chose to blame her half-asleep state for not thinking about hangover potions and how bloody useful they were at a time like this. Thankfully, Oliver was thinking with his brain and she watched with interest, possibly ogling his naked backside a little, as he went to retrieve a pair of potions for them.

“Mmmm, you’re my hero.” She grinned as she drunk back her own potion. That would hel immensely, she was sure. She was glad he’d thought of it. She was even more glad when he got back into bed and she promptly cuddled into his side. “Brilliant idea, really. So brilliant that I think it warrants staying right here for the rest of the day to celebrate it’s brilliance. Or until we get hungry. Think we could convince Penny to come by and cook us breakfast?” Alright, she was joking about that last bit, even if the thought of not having to get up for the next.. ever.. sounded quite appealing right now.

The thought of having Penny cook them breakfast was really tempting. "But if she does, that means we would have to get up. And dressed," he pointed out to Meghan, which he really didn't want to have to do if he didn't need to.

Oliver wrapped his arm back around her, pulling her closer into his side, and closed his eyes for a moment to let the hangover potion take effect. It seemed to be working brilliantly, till he heard 'peck peck peck' on his window. Opening one eye, he saw an owl pecking it's little beak off. "Alright alright," he groaned, rolling out of the bed and to the window to open it. The bird stuck his head inside briefly to drop the letter into Oliver's waiting hand, then flew away.

He opened up the parchment and grinned when he saw what was inside. "I guess the manager is really on top of things, cause he just sent us our practice schedule. We start on Saturday!" he said as he jumped back into the bed to show Meghan the letter.

"Oh, clothes... do not want," she groaned, though she was grinning. Meghan leaned into him easily as he wrapped his arm around her. The hangover potion was doing it's job and it felt nice to cuddle up to Oliver like she hadn't been able to in so long. Why had they broken up again? It all seemed so silly and stupid, now, listening to what anyone else had to say.

She groaned again when the owl started to peck insistently at the window. Going back to sleep had felt like an excellent plan and that stupid pecking meant Oliver had to get up again. She definitely wasn't a fan of that.

"Brilliant!" she grinned, looking over the letter. She couldn't wait to get started. It didn't matter in the least to her that she was on the reserves. She was still excited. "Think it'll feel odd playing for the same team?" she asked him as she settled herself against his side again.

"Aye, it'll probably be weird at first," he told her, setting the letter on the end table then sank back down into the bed to cuddle up against her. "But it'll be brilliant too. We don't have to worry about hating each other for one or two matches," Oliver chuckled. Not that he could actually hate her, it was that friendly rivalry thing.

Now that the potion had started to take effect, Oliver was getting tired again. They were up most of the night "celebrating", and the headache from the alcohol meant that he didn't sleep as well as he hoped. So he rolled onto his side, his arms wrapped around Meghan tightly, and kissed her lips gently. "Mmm I'm ready to go back to sleep. We can worry about food later. I don't want to move yet."

He felt his eyes start to close, but a smile was on his face. He could definitely get used to the position they were currently in.
