The bells (open to anyone)
What was this place? She knew what a city was, or at least thought she knew, but this was unlike anything her eyes had ever laid upon. She had been with Peter many times to Earth, where he would go to the house of the Darlings, take Wendy and her brothers back to their home in Neverland, and have adventures. Sometimes Nana, thier dog and house keeper, came as well. Sometimes it was just she and Peter, and those were the times she cherished the most. She remembered the time that they went to fight the pirates, and Captian Hook was holding her for bait, and Peter came to save her! Oh Peter! Her heart swelled with the mere thought of Peter Pan, however he had betrayed her. He had taken her for granted, then run off to Earth to be with Wendy, and his had to grow up and forget everything. Peter had even forgotten that she loved him. Sure she was only three inches tall, but pixies have hearts too, and they break. Especially if the love of thier life forgets about them, and runs of with another woman. A stupid one at that. Oh she couldn't stand Wendy! She had wished many times for the girl to have an accident, and there had been times that Tink had convinced the Lost Boys to shoot arrows at Wendy as she flew, or had pushed her into the lagoon for the mermaids to drown. That always brought a smile to Tinks pretty little face. The fact that Peter had left Neverland for good had just about killed Tinker Bell. She had been in her little house, curled up in her little bed, waiting for the darkness to take her. Pixies have a very short lifespan, like most small winged creatures and bein broken hearted didn't help.

But she was here, and very confused. After fluttering around the streets, lonely and confused, Tinker Bell settled down on the arm of a wooden bench in the park, her white dress, the shroud she was going to wear for her final journey to the Garden, fluttering around her tiny, curvy frame. She had put her face in her hands, palms cupping her jaw, fingers splayed over her eyes, releasing large, exaggerated sobs. She crossed one of her legs over the other, wings fluttering sadly. Her whole body glowed, and she was a small glowing ball of gold against the darkness. Everywhere she moved she left gold pixie dust, though it didn't have anything to grasp onto, so it faded simply away. She was aware that she was alone, and though it was scary, she could only feel sad at the moment. Pixies could only feel one emotion at a time, so sometimes her emotions could get a little exaggerated and take her over.

She sniffled, pulling her face out of her hands, setting her chin in her palm, and her elbow against her knee, large wet years still spilling over the lower rim of her eyelids, leaving tiny streaks on her cheeks. She sighed, looking around at the very large park, trying to find somewhere that might look remotely comfortable to live. She didn't see any bird houses, or any trees that might have vacant holes in them. She was a tiny little woman in a big persons world, and she was all alone.

She opened her mouth for a moment, saying something to herself, a series of small tinkles erupting into the night instead of words. The voice of the pixie was too high pitched for humans, except for a certain few that could learn to hear it, but she had nobody here to translate. Peter could understand her, the Lost Boys too, and she missed them terribly. She missed the pirates, the Indians, the Lost Boys, and even the tickin crocodile. She hated the mermaids and tiger lily, but she made exceptions for them when they were being mean to Wendy. But they wouldn't do that anymore.

Why her? She didn't know. She wiped her eyes with her hands, and sat there by herself, not knowin what she was going to do. It was a big world out there, and she was so little, and this was so different to her. She was now all alone.

When Tinker Bell settled on her shoulder, Christine couldn’t stop the look of surprise. A look which turned to a smile as it made her realise that Tinker Bell trusted her. She believed in her enough to let her guard down. To stay close to her. It meant a lot to Christine especially given the fact she did not yet have many friends. Tinker Bell may not be the type of friend she had anticipated but she was every bit as good a friend. She made Christine feel happy and welcome and wasn’t that important?

They had to walk for about five minutes to reach the point she had arrange to get the car from. Christine remained silent, giving Tinker Bell the chance to focus on things around them. At least it was a companionable silence. A silence which felt comfortable between them. She wouldn’t mind spending more time with Tinker Bell even in silence. After all, Christine couldn’t exactly understand her unless she focussed entirely on the way her lips moved. When they reached the car, Christine smiled at Mark, the driver Erik had employed.

“Home, to the manor, please,” she asked him as she slipped into the car, hoping Tinker Bell felt okay with coming in with her.

Tinker Bell waited patiently, crossing her feet at the ankles, hands settled in her tiny lap, as Christine walked. She kept her balance, considering she was sitting on an uneven surface, using her wings to keep herself steady. She may not of been much, but she was smarter than your average fairy.

During the walk towards the car, Tinker Bell took a moment to look around at everything, before focusing her attention on the car itself, finding it to be rather ugly looking. She made a face at it, as if that would do her any good at all, and of course it didn't.

As Christine lowered herself into the car, Tinker Bell took to the air again, wings flitting quickly as she watched the woman get in, fluttering in to the interior of the car after her, curiously. She settled down on the vast, leather seat, standing tall, walking around on the plush ground. She looked up at Christine curiously, before sitting down, sliding down the leather to the middle of the seat, a large smile on her face. How fun!

Of course, Tink was in for a surprise, considering she didn't know that cars moved, or that the things inside of them moved along with them, and she had to be careful if she flew, or they could be in trouble if she distracted the driver or got too frightened by the movement. For now, however, she was calm, stretching her legs out infront of her as she sat there, tiny against the massive vehicle, waiting to see what happened next.

Christine worried at first when Tinker Bell did not stay on her shoulder, concerned that she did not want to go into the car. But soon she was flying in with her and Christine was immediately cheered up. She wanted to keep her new friend with her for as long as possible and she definitely wanted to dress Tinker Bell before she became far too cold. That flimsy dress could not do much to keep her warm. And, after all, she had already planned on something to take apart to give her a few dresses for a choice. Every woman liked a choice in clothing, yes?

“”You will need to sit and take care. Cars move rather fast and may stop without much notice. I would rather you kept safe.”

The last thing she wanted was for Tinker Bell to trust her only to end up hurting herself. There was no point in putting the seat belt on her, it would be too big. So she would just have to hope everything remained okay and nothing bad happened. Mark had always been a good driver. At least, since she arrived. She trusted him to stay the same now.

Tinker Bell sat quietly, wings fluttering now and then as she sat, feeling odd as the car began to move, and she sat still. She had been on boats before, and knew the sensation of motion, but the car seemed to move faster, and it didn't rock like boats did. That was different. When she heard Christine tell her to keep still and sit so she would be safe, Tink got close to Christine, and held onto her clothes so she wouldn't be thrown into the floor boards on case the car stopped suddenly.

She was a little scared at first, but the ride was easy, and she began to relax, enjoying the time spent with her new friend.

Tink wondered what kind of a house Christine lived in. She knew houses, but that was really the extent of her human knowledge. She hummed a fairy tune to herself, the soft chime of bells echoing through the car.

As Tinker Bell clung slightly to Christine’s clothing she looked down and gave her an encouraging smile. Gently, as to not hurt her, she placed her hand near the side not pressed against her just as extra security. She wouldn’t grab a hold of her but she would much rather have a way to keep her protected than risk something happening to her. It was strange that Christine was beginning to feel rather protective over the fair creature. She was so small and delicate that perhaps it was understandable.

The drive didn’t take too long, perhaps close to twenty minutes, and soon they were pulling up in front of Erik’s large manor home. Her home. Their home. It was rather difficult to know how to say it. She knew Erik would be busy, and knew it would be best to wait until Tinker Bell felt settled before trying to get her to meet him, so she simply smiled once more at Tinker Bell.

“We can go to my room and I will see what I have lying about which may be of use to you,” she told her gently before getting out of the car, waiting on her before going any further.

Tinker Bell noticed when Christine moved her hand as if to protect her, causing the tiny fairy to look up at the very tall human woman and smile at her, before looking once more around the car. She had never been in a car before that point, and it wasn't so bad. Peter had never mentioned anything about cars, Tink wasn't really sure how much Peter knew of the world before he left. She was sure, now, that he knew a great many things. Maybe if they ever met again, they would have much to talk about concerning the world.

Tinker Bell had no sense of time, she was so little that time seemed simply to race by without her even noticing, but when the car came to its final halt, and Christine moved her hand, Tinker Bell took to the air, fluttering her wings gently as she hovered, watching Christine exit the car.

Tink nodded at the woman, to let her know she understood, before flying around Christine in a happy circle, covering her once more with pixie dust, purely by accident of course. Tink moved to settle once more on Christine's shoulder, waiting for the woman to walk, staring up at the big house. Tink knew houses and this one was very lovely.

"Welcome to my home," she told Tinker Bell as they walked in through the large doors. She quickly let those there to work for Erik know that she would be in her room and not to worry about bringing her anything. She could let them know if anything was required. Besides, Christine wasn't above getting things for herself. She wasn't the type of woman to snap her fingers and expect her orders to be obeyed.

Soon, they were in Christine's rather large and beautifully decorated bedroom. The large windows overlooked the water, something which had drawn Christine to this room, and it was full of light. One solitary rose sat in a vase by her bed, whilst there was another vase on her dresser with a fresher variety of flowers. Closing the door, Christine smiled at her friend.

"Now, shall we see about another dress for you?" She could sew well enough to make something up for her. It wouldn't take much time.

Tink looked around at the massive, exquisite manor, taking in everything as it came, finding herself unable to really say anything. This house was more beautiful than the house of the Darlings, the only other actually human house she had been in, and even her own tiny house back home wasn't as lavish.

When they reached Christine's room, Tink fluttered over to the windows, looking over the water, and she hovered there, looking out in fascination. That reminded her of Mermaid Lagoon, back in her world, and she wondered if any lived in the water. She turned and fluttered over to Christine, pointing at the water, "Do you have mermaids here?" It was probably an odd question, but she had to ask.

Tink then flew over to look at the flowers, first examining the single rose in the vase, before fluttering over to the other, more fresh flora, taking in the scent. Like any female, Tink loved flowers.

Tink landed easily on her feet on the top of the dresser, wings ceasing to move for a moment, as Tink looked up at Christine and nodded, offering the woman a smile.

Christine placed her bags on the floor by her bed and turned to see Tinker Bell looking around her room. She was soon at the window which Christine could not blame her for. She adored her view and it was one of the reasons she had picked that room in particular. She liked to sit by the window and look out. It helped to clear her head.

"Mermaids?" she repeated, frowning. Christine had heard tales of such things but had never considered them to be real. Then again, she had never considered the fact that fairy's could apparently be real until she came across the one opposite her. "Not that I know of."

But if Tinker Bell existed then what was to say mermaids did not? She was not sure if she would like to find out or not. It could be interesting, surely. Not that Christine knew much of the fantasy creatures. It seemed her friend knew more than she did at least. When Tinker Bell agreed to finding something for a dress, Christine nodded and moved to her wardrobe. She had a few scarves that would do. Thick enough to cover her but thin enough to not be too warm. She wouldn't mind giving one or two of them up to make a dress for her until they found the chance to go buy material she liked.

"Do you see anything that might be okay?"

The view was spectacular, Tink wished she could share all of the wonderful things about Neverland with Christine, sure she would love it. The Lost Boys, mermaid lagoon, the pirates and Indians. Suddenly she was homesick again, and she emitted a soft sigh which sounded mostly like a little chime, before pushing the thoughts of home away. She had a feeling that she would never make it, and she couldn't live in a world without Peter, so this was a much better distraction from her broken heart.

When Christine mentioned that she didn't think they had mermaids, Tink nodded, looking up at her, "We have them!" She said brightly. She didn't always care too much for the mermaids, but they were both on the same level when it came to tormenting Wendy, so Tink tolerated them.

When Christine opened the wardrobe, Tink fluttered over, hovering in the air next to the selection of scarves, head canted to the side in curiousity, looking at each one for a moment. She reached out and picked a green one, flying close to Christine's face, holding up the fabric, "This one!" It reminded her of her usual dress color back home, and it was comforting to her. Of course Tink had no idea about fashion and whatnot, she only knew what Peter had taught her and what she had picked up from the Darlings.

"You have mermaids?" she asked, eyebrow raised slightly still not sure why it surprised her so much. Her eyebrow slowly lowered from it's shocked placement as she stared at the fairy. Genuine, real, story book mermaids? It seemed impossible. "What are they like?"

Well she could indulge in Tinker Bell's story. Her detailing on those mythical creatures. Even if she could not really hear or understand her, she could at least find the fun in the tales. After all, weren't all stories fun? Surely something about the mermaids Tinker Bell claims to have seen did not feel right but who was she to argue? Why would Tinker Bell lie?

"This one?" she asked, fully dislodging the soft material from the place within her wardrobe. "That is fine with me."

She had not really worn it much and could easily see about getting a replacement if she really missed it. But right now her need for a scarf was not as great as Tinker Bell's need for a dress.

She nodded, offering Christine a smile, "Very beautiful." She replied, "They have pretty voices, big colors, and powerful tails." She said, bell-like voice chiming softly as she mouthed the human words. She didn't expect Christine to believe her, humans didn't usually have very big imaginations unless they were smaller, around the age of a boy or a girl. But they were real and Tinker Bell knew this to be fact, wether anyone believed her or not.

She had no reason to lie to Christine, it was in her nature to lie only to get herself out of trouble and even then she wasn't that good at it, mostly it was so Peter wouldn't be too upset with her for causing mischief.

When Christine pulled the scarf from the others, Tink clapped her tiny hands in delight, and flew once around the room in excitement, pixie dust shimmering over everything, though it didn't stick to anything at all. When she was done being excited, she fluttered back to Christine, wondering what would happen next.

“I have never thought them real,” she admitted. Not many did really, at least as far as she knew. Stories. Childhood tales. But nothing as serious as Tinker Bell was saying. And Christine trusted her. Trusted that what Tinker Bell had to say on mermaids had to be true. “Mermaids are for stories. Things I heard of as a girl but little else.”

No one had proof they existed and of course, neither did Tinker Bell right now. But there seemed little point in arguing and a part of her would love for them to exist. For there to be more links to her childhood even if they were not here.

Tinker Bell’s reaction to the scarf had Christine laughing, delighted at the obvious sign of happiness. She had not offered to do this for herself. It was not a good deed to make herself feel good It really was about her new friend. To know she was happy, well, that just made things even better.

“I shall need to see how much fabric to cut. How much we will need for a dress.”

Tinker Bell could see how Christine might not believe they existed, but Tink knew, and although she didn't care much for the mermaids, she tolerated them because all of the mermaids hated Wendy too. That was a point they all agreed on, and that made them okay in Tink's tiny eyes. When it came to Peter, though, she would never be on the same level. Peter was a heartbreaker, and he had no clue how important he was to so many people and creatures. Oh Peter.

Tinker Bell fluttered over to a small table in the room, one that seemed willing to give enough space for the tiny pixie to be measured, trusting Christine with the task of taking her measurements. The idea of having a new dress excited the small pixie, and her wings fluttered, though she didn't leave the ground.

She looked up at Christine, waiting for the next move, willing to cooperate with Christine if she needed anything. It was kind of nice having a new friend in a strange world. Not to mention a friend with such nice things.

Christine closed over her wardrobe doors and carefully held the scarf in hand. Once Tinker Bell moved over to the table she had Christine looked in her drawer for the sewing kit she had. She had to keep it on hand for her pointe shoes and her own clothing. It’s normal for her to sew her own clothing and she would continue to do so for as long as she had to. All ballet girls in the Opera had to fix their own clothing, unless it came to costumes, if anything happened.

“We’ll measure you and then I’ll put it together,” she told her softly.

She found the little measuring tape she had and worked on her height and width, just so it would be big enough to fit over her. Once she had that done she worked on the same pattern of Tinker Bell’s current dress and soon had it ready for her. It was quick to style, cut and sew given her small stature.

“What do you think?”

Tinker Bell watched as Christine sat, and removed the sewing kit, peering at the tools and thread the tall woman was using to piece together Tink's new dress. Tink allowed Christine to take her measurements, moving as Christine needed, waiting with excitement as Christine worked.

In the meantime, Tink amused herself by fiddling around with the thread and a thimble, something small enough for Tink to wrap her arms around, carrying the thimble here and there. She set it down, done playing with it, when Christine asked her about the dress once it was done.

Tink looked at the green dress, and took it from Christine, examining it. After a moment, Tink nodded in approval and smiled radiantly at Christine, before shimmying out of the dress she was currently wearing, pulling on the other one. It fit perfectly, and Tinker Bell left the other dress in a puddle on the table after transferring her tiny little knife into a fold of the new dress.

She took to the air, flying to where she was in Christine's field of vision, before flying in a small circle to show her new friend the dress. She was very happy with it. It was nice to have new things.

It was quite fun to watch Tinker Bell enjoy herself as Christine focused on the dress even though she could not have imagined such fun could be had with her sewing kit. At least she wasn’t bored as she waited for her new dress. It didn’t really take so long, the dress was only tiny, but perhaps even the short time it took could have been too long for her friend. Thankfully it appeared not to be.

When she slipped out of her dress and pulled on the new one, Christine waited slightly nervously. Even though she had agreed to the shape and colour it was not nice waiting for the response to the dress. But she nodded and Christine took a breath, grinning. Good. She liked it. And it really did fit perfectly. Though she did raise an eyebrow at the small knife she brought out. But she soon forgot that as Tinker Bell began to fly around her.

“Very nice,” she told her, truthfully. And she didn’t just mean that because she made the dress. She truly looked lovely.

"Thank you!" Tinker Bell mouthed, a response to Christine telling her she looked very nice, as well as to making the dress itself because she was grateful. It wasn't every day you come to a strange world, make a new friend, and get a new dress. Now all she needed was a place to live and she would be set, but she could never ask that of Christine, no matter how nice the manor was, nor how pretty the view was.

The tiny knife mimicked the one that Peter had, he had had it made for her, and she always carried it with her because she felt that you never knew when you would need to get into some place that you couldn't because it was blocked. It also came in handy for fighting pirates, though the knife itself was so tiny it wouldn't feel like more than a pin prick to a human and would only draw a tiny amount of blood.

Tink fluttered over to Christine's bed, landing on the giant, soft spread, walking around on it. She finally took a good look at the whole room, turning around and around to see everything for what it was, and she sat down on the bedspread, satisfied.

"It is my pleasure."

And she meant it. Although she did not exactly make clothes for herself it wasn't really difficult to make a dress so small. And now that she got to see how pleased Tinker Bell was it really was worth it. She was actually quite impressed with how well she had done with what she had made. She really did believe she had done well. Not so well that she would consider making a lot of dresses for herself since her skill was not exactly that good.

As she moved about, Christine put her things away and then stood, watching her. She really was very graceful. A lot better than Christine had been when she had tried to fly. Of course it was normal for Tinker Bell whereas Christine had experienced something which seemed so unnatural. Gently, she also sat on her bed, careful not to make her fall or anything.

"Are you okay?"

Tinker Bell was satisfied with the dress, and would definitely have Christine make more of them if the woman so chose, because the craftmanship was so good. Tink had never had anyone do something so nice for her, either, so that was always a bonus. Christine was going to be a great friend. Perhaps Christine would like to try flying again, soon. That was something that could be done inside as well as outside, mostly it was safer inside since there were softer things than concrete and grass, but that was for the person to decide.

When Christine sat down next to her on the bed, Tink looked up at her and smiled, nodding her whole head so that the action seemed exaggerated in a way. She moved to stand, wings flapping so that she was airborne, turning to face Christine, so that they were looking at each other and so that the woman could read her lips, "Tell me about you." Tink mouthed, wanting to know a little about her new friend.

Christine smiled happily when Tinker Bell indicated she was okay. Good. Christine had worried given she had come to sit on the bed. The last thing she wanted was to have somehow upset her friend. And even now she had a brief moment of disbelief over her friendship with a fairy. This place really was odd. But this was one odd thing she was happy to accept. Tinker Bell had already proven herself a very valuable friend. Christine was brought from her thoughts as Tinker Bell grabbed her attention. Her eyes immediately fell to her lips, assuming that the fairy wished to say something. She was right.

"Me?" What was there to tell? Though she knew she had lived a varied life before coming here but she wasn't sure just how much of her past Tinker Bell was interested in. Perhaps it was just what had happened in her life since coming here? Christine couldn't tell.

"What about me?"

Tinker Bell just did what she wanted to do, be it fly away and settle somewhere, or fly in circles around the room. Her wings needed to rest once in a while anyway, as they often grew tired from supporting her weight, but she mostly let them rest when she slept at night and that seemed to work out just fine.

When Christine asked what there was to tell, Tink shrugged her shoulders at the tall human woman, willing to hear anything at all.

"Anything." She mouthed, trying to encourage Christine to tell her where she was from, what her world was like.

"I'm from Neverland." Tink explained, mouthing the words, her bell like voice chiming softly. "We have mermaids, pirates, indians.....and Lost Boys!" She said, almost beaming when she talked about her world. She missed it terribly, but she would survive as long as she had a friend to help her.

Anything? That could include an awful lot of things. Christine wasn’t sure on what she should and shouldn’t share. What she couldn’t share. She knew her personal relationship with Erik was not something she could speak about. She had promised not to announce it to anyone and as much as she would like to talk to someone else about it she wouldn’t break the promise she made to the man she loved.

“Neverland?” An odd name but it sounded intriguing. Besides, the more Tinker Bell discussed her her life then the better an idea she may have about what to do. What to say. Plus Tinker Bell seemed to have an interesting life and past. Not that she really knew what she meant.

“Tell me more?”

Tinker Bell simply wanted to know things about Christine that she could share with a friend, things like what kind of work she was in, the activities she did in the City, the friends she had made, or anything interesting she might want to share with the fairy. Nothing personal of course, but it wasn't like Tink knew anyone to spread rumors about, nor could anyone understand her anyway.

When Christine repeated the name of her home, Neverland, Tink beamed, "Yes!" She chimed, "Neverland!"

When Christine asked to know more, Tink shrugged her shoulders, "I live in a world where children never grow up, we don't get sick and we never have to go home and follow rules." She explained in a chime, speaking slowly so Christine could understand her. "The Lost Boys live there. They had homes once, but Peter found them and brought them to Neverland so they could play and fight pirates and never have to worry about not being able to eat or not having anyone to play with." They were all sort of lost in a way, and Neverland brought all of them together.

"And then Peter brought Wendy and the Darlings...." Tink said, her eyes narrowing with hate for the girl Wendy. "Peter loved to bring new children to see our world, in hopes of getting more to stay and be happy with being children." She explained slowly, her voice holding almost a sad tone of chime, "Peter and I came to the Earth a lot of times, but only to see the Darlings, or to find lost children."

Children don't grow up? Christine could not see the appeal in that. Why be a child forever? Everyone must grow up eventually and some sooner than others. The thought of not getting sick had perks but that was it. She felt glad to be the age she is. Looked forward to the future she had waiting for her. If she had stayed a child then none of that would have happened.

"It does not sound safe."

That was the nicest thing to say about it. It didn't sound like an attractive lifestyle had been her initial response but she knew that no person liked to hear that about their home. Saying it did not seem safe was just honesty. It truly didn't. She hated to think of children facing such a dangerous situation but she could do nothing about that here.

"Lost children?"
