Something New in the Park

The tv image snows over but soon fades into a smarmy smiling face.

"Hello, this is Frank with KWIT news. We interrupt your regular programing to bring you an interesting development in the Park. Candy?"

The image shifts to Candy, who is standing in front of a few space ships and what looks to be a very old log cabin covered in moss.

"Yes, Frank. Normally we wouldn't report on a new house, even in the Park, but there is something odd about the log cabin behind me." Candy points to the log cabin.

The image is of Frank again, who gives a condescending laugh. "Of course, there's something odd. Ha ha. It's a log cabin; what idiot would live in a log cabin?"

Back to Candy. "Well, the children in the Park and some of the adults have found it a fascinating cabin. Just watch as little Mary-Lou pushes on it."

A small child, who probably shouldn't be messing about with things beyond her ken, steps from the crowd and walks determinedly toward the cabin. She gives the cabin a very firm push, but nothing happens.

Back to Frank. "Oh, that is adorable, ha ha. A little girl trying to move a house."

"It's moving! It's moving! And look at those legs!" The image comes back to Candy; then the camera turns its focus on the cabin which is now many feet, at least 50 ft, in the air, supported bu great chicken legs. The camera watches the chicken leg house walk a few yards before settling down again. Candy is once more on screen. "Yes, you have now seen it with your own eyes. People have been trying to find a door in, but as of yet either cabin turns on those disgusting legs, or it just doesn't have a door. Either way, people are just not getting in. Back to you, Frank."

"Thank you, Candy. Those certainly are some fowl legs. Get it, ha ha. Fowl."

The image snows out, and the screen of whatever device is returned to "normal."

Getting the Hang of Things (Open)

Elizabeth had been confused about the city for awhile. She'd also been here for awhile and now everything seemed to make sense. Well as much as they could make sense. She understood that there seemed to be no real way to get home and finish the war they'd started. She also knew now that the city enjoyed its tricks. Falling in love with a random man, who was shorter than she was, was crazy enough. Falling out of it so quickly had made her heart hurt. She recalled the fact that Jack hadn't been around, William was no where, and James was dead.

A lot of her hurt these days.

But now she had the hang of its never ending turns, being lost was normal, and coca-cola was not to be hit with your sword. You pulled on the little metal top thing and opened it and the can would give you it's sugar water center. Still.

She had a lot to get used to. Having money, a constant never ending pocket full was nice. The jean's she was wearing were weird. Dean had told her, what seemed forever ago, that this is what women wore. She had half a mind to find a real dress and put that on and try to find out where the rest of her friends had run off to. Where was Jack. Had William come here yet? Were there any other pirates in town?

Elizabeth found herself seated at a table on the sidewalk, drinking her can of coca-cola, which she was now addicted to, and watching the street for any signs of someone she knew. Someone to talk to who made a little more sense than the city itself.

Maybe she should try jumping into the water at the docks again. Maybe that would send her home.

Welcome to your new life. (Death of the Endless)

"Don't."

Errol held his partner's eyes over the book, ignored the gun pointed at him, and kept his hand on his own pistol, though he had absolutely no intention of using it. He was here for one reason only, and he was at peace with it. He would choose this, and he would make sure that Preston was looking him in the eyes as it happened. He thumbed the safety off and exhaled, ready.

Preston did not disappoint. There was the sound of a Cleric's pistol and the noise of the bullet going through the book a millisecond before Errol felt the sting of the bullet in his throat and his eyes closed, welcoming the darkness, and then...

He inhaled again, and opened his eyes. )

Blind Seer meets blind seer [Firekeeper, Charlie, Ted?]

Xanadu fell asleep on Ted's bed and lay there for nearly a day. It felt safe and warm and she was loathe to leave it. She'd tried to feel her way toward a washroom but exhausted, tired and still hurt the blind seer refrained. The wounded slyph chose her steps carefully out of the bedroom and using the bannister as a guide, slowly took the steps down into the main entry way.

"Hello, Ted?"

Not unlike a hangover, Xanadu's head pounded from dehydration. She felt ill wanted to attempt drinking and perhaps eating something. The seer did not feel hungry, but she had stopped feeling the desire for food a week into her torture. She must have looked like a wreck. Her hair was matted in some places and she was still covered in green and purple bruises, slow to heal, dried blood and other cuts and marks decorating her body like a voodoo doll.

She couldn't wait to step into a shower, wear fresh clothes and feel normal again. The fate of the shop was far from the soothsayer's mind. For now she was safe. The doppelganger would be dealt with later and by someone else.

Just a Normal Coffee Chat (Gwen,Allison)

Gwen had left a note for Jack before leaving the hub,"Went for supplies and to meet Allison for coffee, will bring some back for you :) " as she left the new version of the Hub. After a quick stop to tend to some matters before the cover cafe offically opens she stopped off at the coffee house from a few weeks before, having made sure to somehow stand out in a way beyond her accent (this time being bright red sneakers). But this was a small step for Gwen, finding she could make friends and have a small dose of a life beyond Torchwood. Plus maybe this would be a nice friendship, something she has missed since Tosh died.
