Goings on at the City Opera? Oh yes!

Opening night for Ignite, an original operatic experience with Mag as the lead soprano and written by Erik himself, has just taken place. If your characters attended, just reply here and say who went. You can describe your masquerade costume if you'd like, too!

Here's what you should know:
- The Opera House itself was awash in sensual fiery red throughout, interspersed with bursts of orange, yellow, and black.
- The gala, which was held before the show, was a masquerade. It carried a feeling of the darkly forbidden, a long flirtation with fire, augmented by the velvet and brocade decorations, complimentary drinks, and tiny finger foods that were perfect for feeding to others by hand.
- The music itself was unlike anything else ever played - hot and thrumming and insidious, climbing into bones and flesh, full of heat and desire. An outpouring of want and need. Dates probably didn't stay long after the curtain fell, ha!
- The afterparty was really for the singles, and many of them may well have left with someone they met there.

In other words, Ignite was sex in opera form. Beware those who .... came. *snickersnort*

I'VE MISSED YOU, WC!!

So, after my more-extended-hiatus-than-expected, I'm realizing that I need very much to reduce my load of 10 characters. After a LOT of consideration, I've halfed my list. Here's who's on the way out:

Andrew Brandt - He was always meant for plot-generation in WC. Once we wrap his plot up, I'll be letting him go.

Bruce Wayne - Before I picked him back up, he was a mod-controlled character. I'll be returning him back to that status. This means that he won't be around for play all the time, but he's still in the City. If he's needed in game, he'll be played for those storylines.

Giselle - This one makes me sad. I love Giselle. I love her stories. But I need more space, and she just didn't make the cut. Sad. So very sad. Goodbye Giselle. The City will be returning her to her universe. I don't expect to do a narrative for her - but Logan put one up. AWW, LOGAN, I'M SORRY!!

Leeloo - This one is similar to Giselle, but hurts even more. Goodbye, Leeloo. (I may play her in BW, cause ow. OW. But she won't be a part of my standard rotation going forward.)

Leto Atreides II - Oh, sweet Leto. He never really took off in WC, despite really interesting interactions with Baba and Clar-Os. The City is returning him. No narrative.

On my keep list, we have Erik, Evey Hammond, Beauty, James Buchannan Barnes, and Rose Tyler.

SO, LET'S PLAY!!

I hate to do this but I think it's time for the Raeness to do a bit of character housecleaning. Some of the people I play seem to have grown cobwebs from disuse, which is nobody's fault but mine.

With that said, I'm giving it until the end of the month for my list of idle characters. If you see one on my list that you want to stay active, then let's plot and work something out together. If not, then they're toast.

Here's the list of my inactive characters for your perusal:

If any of you have interest in picking any of these kids up come the end of September I'd be more than happy to let you. And those of the kids on this list that do currently have lines, maybe we need to keep the connections a bit more active. I hate splitting up couples and trashing lines but they're not doing me any good not being played upon. I'd love to keep each one of them but they have to be more active and I need all of your help. Playing on my own is not nearly as fun, and I don't want to swamp the community all the time with goofy narratives (as much as we love them).

Lauren here! I'm bringing in Helena, a clone from the BBC America show Orphan Black. She's coming from just after the end of season 3, so she is slightly less unstable than usual. But she's still an unstable clone raised by a religious cult to be a self-hating assassin. She's just much more cuddly now.

Also, if anyone wants any of my doods, just let me know! Otherwise I'm about to write an open thread for Helena before I go to lunch.
