I know you all have a lot to worry about right now but I need to give you a health advisory notice.
We have two viruses currently in the complex. Both are carried by people who are aware of their positive status and of the steps that they need to take in order to keep these viruses contained. If these steps are taken, and everyone behaves responsibly, there is a very minimal exposure risk. Both viruses are, however, fatal in their final stages. Therefore I thought it would be a good idea to link everyone to this information on AIDs prevention since both viruses are spread in the same way as AIDs, through blood and/or bodily fluids. http://www.avert.org/prevent-hiv.ht
I have already examined the carriers of these viruses, but I will not be revealing their identities. They are entitled to doctor/patient confidentiality and it is illegal in Kansas to disclose anyone's status as HIV positive without their express consent. I will be operating as if both viruses are bound by these regulations as that seems the most fair thing for everyone. I debated whether or not to disclose any of this because, as I said, the risk is extremely minimal when precautions are taken, but I realize some of us may be from a time or place where these kinds of diseases do not exist or these precautions have not been taught.
If anyone has any questions you can feel free to contact me. I can also provide broad spectrum virus testing to anyone worried that they have been engaging in at risk behavior.
