Well, that was lovely, wasn't it? A holiday without alien invasions. I'd almost forgotten what those felt like. Mind you, all the running does help build up an appetite, but we seemed to manage just fine without it.

The antique shop where I found the dress from Halloween? Apparently, the owner's quite chatty. And impresses easily when you can shoot off facts from ancient Greece and Elizabethan England and France under Louis XIV's reign. Who knew?

So it's not just any old shop. The stories behind some of the items there are incredible. So I admit, I'm a little excited. And the fact that they were willing to take me without a lot of references was, admittedly, a bonus.

Well. That was an interesting week. Woke up back home on Gallifrey, in the presidential suite no less, last Friday. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem except A) I haven't been the president in a very, very long time and B) Gallifrey is gone, twice over, so really, waking up anywhere on it is very, very bad.

As it turns out, waking up back home was much worse than I'd thought. I wasn't there but ten minutes before someone tried to kill me. I thought that was a bit strange, considering the someone was a Time Lord and all, and not the Master or the Rani, but then it happened again. And again. And again. There were four assassination attempts in all before the week was out. Well, I say four, but it may have been five. Seems another version of me did something monumentally stupid and cracked the Skasis Paradigm. It didn't seem to help much when I told the assassins I wasn't him. One ignored me, and the other three decided they ought to eliminate me before I stole the code and went back to my own universe to rewrite it.

Anyway! Long story short, the other me's going to be a bit put out when he gets home. I happened to accidentally leave the renegade Time Lords all the information they needed to put their universe back to rights. Oops?

Am I really so much worse than him? Am I such a monster for having the will and the ability to save my people? To restore the civilizations ravaged by the war to peace? To restore some semblance of sanity to the Master? To find House and stop him from consuming TARDISes and leaving their pilots to die? To spare the universe from the Daleks' predations? Don't you understand what I've done? I've built a civilization of Time Lords devoted to helping, not sitting back and watching until goaded into battle. I've built a universe that's safer for everyone, where the only monsters under the bed are the ones created by an overactive imagination.

What has he done that makes him such a saint? What makes him so much better than me?

I can fix this. Whatever it is that's going on, I can help. I can take care of Lucifer and the Seal and Hell and everything else, all of those people hurt and killed and drawn into deals with the devil. Just give me a little time. I can make this universe better. I can send all of you home, if that's what you want, or if you've made a life here that you want to keep, I can make that happen.

Just trust me. That's all I ask.

Time is...fractured here at the best of times, it is a place where timelines mix and match, where universes collide where they shouldn't. But its gotten worse today. I can feel it. Something is very very wrong. So people may not be the...I hate to use the word, but 'versions' that we know.
