No Evil

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Now that I have crossed one item off my bucket list I would like to attempt to cross another item off. Provided we are still alive after the fighting I would like to obtain a degree. I see there are late start classes at the local university. How would I go about enrolling there?

[Edward]

I had a very nice time last night. Would you like to have dinner tomorrow evening? I would ask for tonight but I am helping an acquaintance cope with the loss of a friend of hers to the seal.

I believe I have a date Saturday to the opera in Kansas City. And considering many things have changed in fifty years I'm wondering what type of etiquette there is for a date these days? Also, has anyone been to Kansas City and do they have recommendations of a place to have dinner? Someplace more formal would be nice since we would be dressed in more formal attire.

I had a thought. If the complex gets targeted and is uninhabitable, are there other places for those of us who live there to be housed? And if there is, are there adequate supplies there? I have been helping to monitor things abroad so I was unaware of the meeting until it was already over. And will there be another meeting for planning purposes? I would be keen to attend the next one.

[Edward]

A bucket list was mentioned earlier and I said I wanted to see an opera performed live but I doubted that would happen here. Apparently there is an opera performance in Kansas City on Saturday, and provided the fighting hasn't started I thought you might want to come with me? It's in Italian and is titled "The Capulets & The Montagues" so I'm assuming it's based upon Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Are you by any chance interested? We could consider it a date if you would like. If you would even want to go out on a date with me, at any rate.

Okay, Ruby, here we g

How many of you all actually know how we got here? To the Apocalypse and everything? I think it might be a good idea to make sure everyone knows everything in case Lucifer decides to use it all against us at some point.

I was talking to HG and, you know, we all might die at any second. Like the earth could just spontaneously explode or all the oxygen in the world might vanish unexpectedly or maybe Lucifer has had us in his clutches this whole time with some super fucked up master plan that has us all infected with a crazy curse that'll make us all drop dead whenever he wants us to.

We all might not wake up tomorrow, so I think we should all do stuff that's important. Other than stocking up and prepping for the big fight, that is. Have we got any bucket lists? Shit none of us ever got to do that we've always wanted to try? Let's do it! C'mon!

I smell a very long night online tracking this.

Have you seen the news? Since you know Europe better than I do I could use a second set of eyes since I'm tracking the storm on the East Coast and that volcano in Germany (that part bugs me, it was supposed to be a dead one of all things). But I can offer treats and good company :)

Can I see you again?

Because this feels funny to admit but you gave me a lot to chew on (to borrow the expression) the other night. I know our worlds and our methods of crime fighting are different but maybe the 60's and 2080 have more in common than before. Plus maybe it was fate that had me motor past the parking lot where I found you, because as fish out of time you actually get it.

I believe MP3 players and stereo headphones are the best inventions of the last fifty years, possibly followed by the computer. At least I will not annoy people with loud opera performances in the middle of the night, as I used to do at home.

[Claudia]

Thank you very much for your help, as well as your patience in getting every single opera I wanted on the MP3 player. I know I asked for a lot of music, but already it is helping. I feel much more relaxed.

[Edward]

I think I would like to talk to you for a bit, if that is all right. I don't know what your customs are, but usually in England we chat over tea. Are you free this evening?

I didn't see a class to help someone sort through the most recent years of history, or perhaps I didn't look hard enough. There is so much that has happened in the last fifty years that it is taking a very long time to go through and I am getting frustrated. Not to mention disgusted with humanity as a whole. Is there anything like that offered? Or would someone be willing to go over the most important things, perhaps?

Also, where would someone who has experience singing in a choir go to sing in one here? Music is important to me, and if I cannot go back to my old way of life then at least I can go back to old comforts. I am a tenor, if that matters.

[Filtered to Claudia]

I have not talked to you yet, but I saw you offered another time displaced resident help with the technology of the modern era. Is there any chance I could ask for your help as well? I know the basics of a computer by now, and the internet, and I can use a rotary phone. But other bits of technology still confuse me. I would especially love to learn to use a device that allows me to listen to music wherever I go, though I have been told a CD player is not a good idea. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is much easier to use than a typewriter. No more corrective tape.

Apparently forty-eight years have passed for me. This will take some getting used to, as will all the new technology that has been invented. But I'll make do, I suppose.

Edward explained much. But there is still so much I don't understand. She mentioned classes I could take. Are they like university classes, or something different? And which would be best to start with? I understand there is a war of some sort brewing, and I want to be prepared.

Also, where may I get a record player and records? I miss my operas already.
