It is difficult to say whether she is the lucky one or I am the lucky one. This was not something I thought I would ever have again. My first daughter, Christina, was murdered long ago. I lost myself, even went as far as killing her murderers, which ended with me losing my mind completely to the anger and the pain. It is so hard to have Emily right now because I still feel like I can't do this, that I will fail her the same way I failed Christina. But as long as there is breath in my body, I will protect her and love her the way she deserves.
