Claudia's near-death experience - OPEN
Things at the Roadhouse had been relatively calm for a good part of the day. Claudia knew it was only the calm before the storm and it wasn't long until she was proven right. Demons flooded in from every direction, exorcisms were being recited left and right, and people were scrambling. Their main fighters were mostly on the battlefield, but the Roadhouse wasn't without their own team and they would hold their own. With everything happening at once, it was hard to keep track of who was where and doing what, and as much as there was a sense of unity in everyone standing against the enemy, there was also a distinct feeling of 'every man for himself' mixed in. Survival instinct. Self-preservation.
Claudia held her own, Tesla in hand and of more use than it had been in all her time in Lawrence. Later, she would grieve for the lives of the hosts she had ended, but for now, she stayed focused. It was all she had at this point.
A pair of demons had flanked her, and somehow she'd lost her gun and God, she hoped the demons didn't get it because they would no doubt completely obliterate anything and anyone in their path and the Tesla gun was nothing to play with, with it's ability to disintegrate things and people on the spot. But she couldn't worry about that now, as she was cornered with no way out. She tried to find something, anything to use as a weapon, but there was nothing within her reach. Held in place by a hand around her throat to prevent any more exorcisms coming from her by one demon, the second one decided to have some fun. Torture was a way of life, afterall. A slice here, a tear of skin there, the demon took it's time, reveled in the pained moans, muffled by the hand at her throat. And in some sort of grand finale act, the demon plunged the knife into the Warehouse Agent's stomach and ripped upwards, blinding her with pain.
Left there, abandoned by her tormentors, presumed to be soon dead, Claudia dropped to the ground, blood spilling profusely from the wound and there was a part of her that wondered if she'd make it out alive.
