WHO: Lois & Clark
WHAT: ~Reunited and it feels so goood~ Except not really.
WHEN: The End: Day One, early morning
WHERE: A building right in the middle of Clark's Croat hot zone!
WARNINGS: Probable cursing and definite distrust.
Lois had absolutely no idea what was going on. One minute she was up getting herself a midnight snack, as she did somewhat often, the next? Bam. New location. Again. Kinda like a year and a half earlier when she ended up in Lawrence. This was like that, but there was something different about it.
Before she'd shown up in her car driving down the road. This time? She was in a seriously run down building in her pajamas and slippers. That was decidedly not cool. Again she was back to being lost, possibly in yet another alternate dimension, but this time she didn't even have a suitcase with her.
At least she still had the glazed doughnut she was munching on when the new shift happened. Groaning, she made her way towards the front of the building and stepped outside, using her phone to comment to the post Faith made to the network as she walked. The sun was just coming up, giving her enough light to see the streets. It looked like Lawrence, alright. Weirdly enough, it looked like if she walked right at the next street over she'd come across the newspaper headquarters she worked at. Except there was one big difference.
The whole place looked like it caught a dose of 28 Days Later, just without the zombies bolting after her. There were a few people milling about, she could see that. And yeah, they looked kinda weird, but Lois's brain didn't always connect the dots like they should. Sometimes she skipped some of the dots and the picture ended up looking nothing like it was supposed to. Sadly, this was one of those times.
"Hey!" She said to one guy in particular, turning to make her way towards him. "Hey, alright, I know this is going to sound crazy and all, but bare with me here. Two things. One, what happened, and two, when am I?" The only reason she was able to get that entire thing out before the man turned around was because of the speed at which Lois tended to talk, especially when she got flustered. But when the guy did turn around she could tell that she probably should have just stayed in the building until the others figured out what was going on. And why was that? Because the man clearly had something wrong with him. He didn't speak at first. Instead he just watched her for a moment. No, he didn't watch her. He leered at her. That was before jumping.
Almost before Lois knew it the man was lunging towards her, causing her to instinctively jump back. But when she did that she bumped someone else, another person that was all screwed up and leering at her. "Shit," she said quietly to herself as she started moving. It wasn't hard to see that these two people, along with everyone else milling about in the street, were closing in on her fast, but she saw an open spot and took off between them, making her way down the street as fast as possible.
