Of all the things Clark just mentioned, just asked if she remembered, there was one key word in the mix that stood out above the rest. When he asked if she remembered their marriage Lois's eyes went wide from surprise and her grip on the knife loosened, letting it fall to the floor, narrowly missing her foot. Yeah, she loved Clark. For her they'd been together for nearly a year, and that was a serious record in Lois's book. It was almost twice as long as all of her other relationships. But marriage? Clark actually wanted to marry her at some point?
It was because of that question that Lois decided to wait until she was sitting in one of the chairs in the room before speaking. Yeah, she was waiting to speak. That was rare. But she was pretty sure that she wouldn't be able to stay upright for all that long after a shocker like that one.
"You married me? Seriously?" she asked, shock still on her face as she stared at him. After those four words were out of her mouth she paused for a moment before going on. "Yeah yeah yeah, Apocalypse, I know. It just started up a couple months ago for me. Seals brought be to Lawrence a year and a half ago, blah blah blah, yeah. I know that stuff." Lois was trying to sound flippant as she said that, but she probably failed miserably. Marriage was something she and Clark had never talked about before, and now there was a Clark sitting across from her saying that he married her at some point.
Man. This day was taking all sorts of weird turns for her. Chased by zombies. Hung over a pit of them by someone that very well may be her boyfriend. Then he told her that he married her.
