To say the situation Lois found herself in this time was a bad one seemed to be an understatement. Seriously bad was closer, but still didn't quite seem to hit the mark. Lois seemed to be a magnet for crazy stuff, at least since she first showed up in Smallville, but never before had she been chased through the streets by zombies. Or by things that sure were acting like some of those fast moving zombies, at least. She wasn't sure who these people were, but it was painfully obvious that they weren't just trying to catch up to her to give her directions to the nearest Wal-Mart.
Plus? Slippers didn't exactly make the best running shoes. If she had time to stop to think about it, Lois wouldn't be able to decide if it would be better to run with or without them. It was difficult to keep up a good speed and keep them on her feet. But on the other hand, there was a hell of a lot of crap all over the street. A lot of it hurt enough to step on with the slippers on. It was sure to tear up her feet if she lost them.
When the road was clear of things she could trip over ahead of her, Lois dared to look back over her shoulder to see how close the things were. What she saw came as a shock. Basically, it looked like lasers setting the things on fire, but to Lois it looked like a Godsend. Plus, she recognized the sight of that. Not all of them were down though, so she had to keep moving. "Clark!" she called out as she rounded a corner into an alley. She knew there was a fire escape there and hopefully these things weren't that great at climbing. It took a little effort, but she was able to climb on top of a trash can and jump just high enough to grab hold of the bottom rung of the ladder. From there she could start moving upwards, away from the things that were chasing her.
"Clark, I know you're around here somewhere! Where are you?" Now would be a good time for her alien boyfriend to come speeding up, after all.
