Vas Captio OOC

Hello everyone!

Just your friendly neighborhood mod writing to let you know that Day Change will be up tonight between 6:00 and 7:00 EST.

Just a few modly notes from your friendly neighbourhood modly types!

1. OOC vs IC: Remember to keep the two things separate. We really haven't seen any of this come up, but it's a good reminder nonetheless. What a character thinks is not what the player thinks!

2. Rule Update: As you will see this week, we are reinstating Shannon into the game. This does involve a rule update and it is this: The Mods understand that sometimes you aren't feeling a character and feel the need to drop -- followed soon by the regret of dropping the character. Players are allowed ONE re-pick up of a character with no questions asked. However, we will not permit constant dropping and re-picking up of a character. As Shannon has been picked up, please run the friend add button to un-banset.

3. Hiatuses: We are coming into school-time once more [this particular mod is about to start law school] and are suggesting that, rather than dropping a character due to time constraints you take a hiatus. Hiatuses are fine and dandy with us. Similarly, if you know you won't be around for a period of time, please post on the hiatus post in the mod journal so we can keep track of things.

4. ♥: there just needed to be a fourth thing. Only to say that you guys are amazing and thanks for an amazing five months of game! We're going to be doing some pimping and if you know people who are looking for a game, bring 'em here! We always like new victims players around here!

One thing! Modly error: please re-run the friends button quickly. And if you did get the community highlyillogical on your flist, please remove. Miscommunication with journal names. :^D Also, re-run if you were at Mirage as we need to unban a journal that's migrating here.

And now! NOMINATIONS

Due to the fact that we've had a lot of characters drop over the past few weeks, we are going to let the last round of awards slide. However, we have a new way of doing awards that will, we think, help everyone in terms of nominations.

Every week, we will hold nominations for the main categories -- that way threads and journals are still fresh in people's minds. Nominations will run for the whole of the following game day. [In other words, nominations for Day Fifteen will run during Day Sixteen and so on]. At the end of the third week, we'll hold a round of voting with the winners to be announced with shiny graphics.

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. And please, nominate! More nominations we get, the more you all have to choose from. As always, for best scenes and lines, include a link to the thread/journal in question.

Hey guys, this is just a heads up that we have decided to change the rule on duplicate PBs. It is now no longer necessary for the PB to look drastically different for there to be two of the same. It is, however, not permitted for someone to app with a duplicate PB for their first character. If you have any questions or concerns with this, comments are screened to protect the innocent.

Okay guys. Just a quick little blurb to say we've updated the rules to make things a little more clear for you and new players. It's surfaced lately that we had ideas about what we wanted but didn't quite frame them for you as well as we should have. So here we are making our first rule amendments! Please read the following two links below. They're not that long. You can do it. Sorry to be such bores. We love you guys and want to make sure the fun continues!

Our apologies for putting up the activity check a few days late; time got away from us a little.

This is an unofficial warning, because after looking over the exact wording of the rules in place, we did not specify that characters needed to journal and participate in a thread each week. The rule, however, is being altered as such, so next week's activity check list will be considered an official first warning.

As this day change had been extended an extra week, there was a lot more to look at for activity and if you feel your character is on the missing activity list in error, please comment below to let us know. We're only human...we make mistakes as well. Comments are screened for your privacy and will be replied to via email if necessary to avoid comments coming unscreened in the process of reply.

In other news...we now have a playable NPC account, should anyone want to use it to control threats in the experiments list on day changes. We will add icons of said threats and players using the NPC account will be expected to use the appropriate icon when playing. For example, currently there is an icon for a Weevil, should anyone want to play the Weevil or Weevils in a thread with a playable character already in the game. Please just make sure you're familiar enough with the threat in question to play them (and remember, not all of them will actually speak). The account is vc_player_npc and the password is bringiton, so have a blast with that y'all :) There is a separate NPC account for mods - if you see that one around, you'll know it's us. Please update your friends lists; friend add is here.

Hey guys,

Your lovely mods put our heads together and made an executive decision to put off the next Day Change until next Friday to give people longer to work on their experiment and intro posts. It'll also give some of you the chance to finish up posts from past days.

Also, we over in modland wanted to thank you all for making this place hop from Day One. We look forward to many more days in Vas Captio with you all. Please feel free to leave a comment to this entry letting us know any suggestions or other feedback you may have. Comments are screened for your protection! :P

Your Mods

Okay, so the majority vote was to extend Day Two for people to continue working on the multitude of threads still going right now. That said, since I will be out of town next weekend and Jenny is still unwell, the Day FOUR change will also be a little bit late and while I won't be able to post much while I'm gone, as soon as I have an internet connection available, I will put up that day change. Basically, Day Three will go up on Monday at midnight rather than midnight tonight and Day Four will go up as soon as possible probably the following Saturday or Sunday rather than at the regularly scheduled time (Day Three will be shortened), but after that we'll be back on schedule.

In other news, Jenny and I have talked and we want to thank you guys for all being so active and having fun with us at Vas. So, we're taking a page out of oblivionrp's book (with permission from their mods) and will be giving out awards for numerous categories. Tonight when the day change would've normally taken place, we'll put up a post with a list of categories and the comments will be screened so you guys can nominate posts and characters for the awards...we'll then take your nominations and compile a list for you all to vote for the winners - that way, no, it's not just Jenny and I deciding. This is for fun and you don't need to feel as though you have to participate. Hopefully this will be, in addition to our way of thanking you all for being here, a fun activity for everyone.
