Out of curiosity, have the ghosts dissipated, then? I haven't seen any myself, but it hasn't stopped me from being a bit wary whenever I turn corners or enter rooms so I wouldn't mind being able to relax that particular hypervigilance for a while.

The last handful of months have flown by so quickly, I was genuinely surprised when I realized how close it's become to the end of the semester and the year itself. Our years are shorter back home and the months and celebrations are similar, yet different. I think that not having a Harvest's Close festival in the streets of Whitestone or getting to go to Emon to see the bonfires for Civilization's Dawn like I did last year just sort of makes things meld together. I've enjoyed seeing new festivities and traditions here, but I've missed some of the ones from home. I miss a lot from home, but

However, Winter's Crest does seem to have some similarities to the Christmas that I've seen some talk about on the network, so that is something to look forward to! I have to like a holiday that gives me an added excuse to buy gifts for friends.

Yeah that's basically the same thing. A lot of Christmas shit is obnoxious colors but the lights are cool.

I rather liked the lights back home, too. It was nice being able to see them through windows, just knowing that there were others enjoying the festivities. It was also just made a very pretty scene.

Yeah even when the snow gets gross and sludgy, the lights looked nice. I'll be decking out the Barns after Thanksgiving. You can tell me if it reminds you of your Winter's Crest.

Well, now I'm very much looking forward to seeing it. I'm sure it will be lovely.

Is there a religious thing behind yours? Or is it just like a winter solstice celebration?

There are some people who think of it as being a holy day for the Raven Queen, but it's most secular at this point. She's the goddess of winter, among other things, but most of the people that celebrate do it just for the traditions and enjoyment of the holiday, rather than specifically for her.

People say the same about a lot of Christmas traditions. But if it started as a day for this Raven Queen, I bet it still feels religious to people who worship a different god.

I can't speak for others, but it just might. I'm not terribly religious myself, however celebrating other deity's holy days isn't too out of the ordinary for us; we all know that the different gods exist, so people just choose who they devote themselves to. Such is the way with a polytheism, I suppose.

Everybody's a heathen around here, it's fine.
