Out of curiosity, have the ghosts dissipated, then? I haven't seen any myself, but it hasn't stopped me from being a bit wary whenever I turn corners or enter rooms so I wouldn't mind being able to relax that particular hypervigilance for a while.

The last handful of months have flown by so quickly, I was genuinely surprised when I realized how close it's become to the end of the semester and the year itself. Our years are shorter back home and the months and celebrations are similar, yet different. I think that not having a Harvest's Close festival in the streets of Whitestone or getting to go to Emon to see the bonfires for Civilization's Dawn like I did last year just sort of makes things meld together. I've enjoyed seeing new festivities and traditions here, but I've missed some of the ones from home. I miss a lot from home, but

However, Winter's Crest does seem to have some similarities to the Christmas that I've seen some talk about on the network, so that is something to look forward to! I have to like a holiday that gives me an added excuse to buy gifts for friends.

I didn't want to tell you or Genya until he was gone. You couldn't see him, anyway, so why torture either of you with the knowledge?

I know better than to think that you would have been fine sitting there know there was little you could do about the fact that he was there. [...] I'm fine. All I can say for my past is that I walked out of it with somewhat of an armor against him.

You're right, of course. Even now I'm hating that I don't have a way to go back and do something and he's actually gone. But if there is something I can do now, you know you only have to say the word, yes?

It's something I think about all too often.

Just be there? It's ridiculous, isn't it? After all this time, how easy for him it is to get under my skin? I'd gotten very good at pretending to be unaffected but I haven't quite mastered not caring at all what he thinks.

I wish being here meant not having to worry about what's happening back home.

That isn't ridiculous at all, Zoya. I have to think that he would get under my skin, too, and I don't have near the same history with him as you do. I can be here, though. As much or as little as you want.
