Out of curiosity, have the ghosts dissipated, then? I haven't seen any myself, but it hasn't stopped me from being a bit wary whenever I turn corners or enter rooms so I wouldn't mind being able to relax that particular hypervigilance for a while.

The last handful of months have flown by so quickly, I was genuinely surprised when I realized how close it's become to the end of the semester and the year itself. Our years are shorter back home and the months and celebrations are similar, yet different. I think that not having a Harvest's Close festival in the streets of Whitestone or getting to go to Emon to see the bonfires for Civilization's Dawn like I did last year just sort of makes things meld together. I've enjoyed seeing new festivities and traditions here, but I've missed some of the ones from home. I miss a lot from home, but

However, Winter's Crest does seem to have some similarities to the Christmas that I've seen some talk about on the network, so that is something to look forward to! I have to like a holiday that gives me an added excuse to buy gifts for friends.

And myself! I've been doing plenty of that, don't you worry.

Now are you going to force me to ask about your gossip or will you offer it up?

Hmmm. I'm afraid you'll have to be a bit more specific, darling.

But I have news so infrequently! Surely I can be forgiven wanting to relish it, yes?

Oh, fine, fine, fine! Consider me dangling over the precipice of suspense!

Lucky for us both, I have been more or less bursting so I won't prolong the suspense too painfully. But -- yes. Verin. I'm sort of still wrapping my head around it, if I'm entirely honest. He's really rather wonderful.

You're rather wonderful, darling. And I'm glad for you, you deserve all the happiness you can possibly get.

That's very kind of you to say. I didn't really have much time for any of this back home, you know? I hadn't even considered dating or romance or knew if I'd even want to pursue something if I could. This has been an interesting, and good, change of pace.

What, running an entire city-state that had just taken in refugees from invading dragons didn't leave much time for flirtation? Color me shocked, darling!

Cassandra, you know I hold you in esteem because you are a brave, strong, and resilient young woman, and it was only a matter of time before someone else realized all of these traits and more in you. Enjoy discovering these new experiences.

And of course, do remember you have an exceptional sorcerer on your side.

Odd, isn't it? I'm unsure how I could just slip flirtation in between all day meetings, honestly.

You are a true gem, Shaun. And someone that I will always be very glad to have by my side. You did teach me the finer points of eyeliner, after all.

Well, with the right motivation you can flirt anywhere. Should, now, that's a whole other issue!

It's one of my better tricks too, though sadly undervalued.

Given who I had most of those meetings with, I think we're all better off with me leaving the flirtations for Vallo and specifically with Verin. Though Keeper Yennen's face expression at such a thing might err toward humorous, I think it's probably best to spare the poor man.

Do you have any new gossip to share? I don't want to monopolize.

Oh, I like Keeper Yennen! That's a man who you know has come by his faith after having adventures. At least that's what I tell Allura to try to make her laugh during said meetings.

I don't! For shame. But I'm fine with the quiet, I'd very much prefer for everything to stay solid and sure for a very long time.

You are almost assuredly not wrong. He probably has stories.

There's much to be said for solid and sure, isn't there?
