Briar #14
Oi. Who's got my magic? This sort of thing is considered very taboo where I come from, although I appreciate it's another amusing Vallo quirk, it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Not me. Is your magic kind of weak with a side of wanting to read everything? Because that's my problem right now.

Ah.

Sorry.

It's not a big deal, I've actually been enjoying the downtime to focus on reading. Usually I'm way too scattered to concentrate.

Please feel free to make use of the Great Library. Or if you prefer, my private library has a good many books about British magic that you're welcome to peruse.

Well, I think the good news is I didn't get your interests along with your abilities, so your private library is probably safe unless you have a lot of manga.

I might. What is manga?

I don't thing wanting to read everything can be magic related, can it? As it is I keep looking at things and wanting to draw them, but it might just be going out of my mind not being able to talk to plants right now. I haven't done this since I was twelve and it's not fun.

I think the hyperfocus and retention might be, or maybe it's more than just magic. Skills and such, too?

Hm perhaps. I wonder if that extends to things like muscle memory. You can know how to use a knife but that doesn't mean your body will react to an attack if you haven't actually done it before.

With your magic do you just know? Or does it take a lot of training and practice? Because I can't feel anything but a few people have told me it might just take practice.

I didn't know initially, but I was also untrained. I think that if you had my magic now you'd know about it, especially if you didn't know how to control it properly - things would start growing everywhere around you, for a start.

Okay cool.

Real quick, what the fuck.

[Attached is a photo of Gattolotto. Her vines have completely taken over the wall of a very messy bedroom, and have enveloped what looks to have been a bed. There are more photos of her taking over most of the two attached walls.]

Well, that brings back some memories. You might have to take a few deep breaths and ask nicely for your room back. Very nicely. Plants love to grow but they're usually extremely stubborn about going in reverse. Do you know how to meditate?

Uh... no. Should I know how to meditate?

I'll ask her. Maybe she'll listen.

It helps if you do; it'll stop the magic running all over the place and getting out of control. Do you want me to show you?

I hope so; I don't like this. I haven't lost my magic since my sister borrowed it when I was twelve to spin it, and that was necessary. What did you get, anything?

I bet it feels so weird to be without. The closest I can imagine is if I suddenly couldn’t hit a target to save my life. I guess I need to start taking a better look at Leon’s room, though.

It's like losing a sense. Somewhere in between being suddenly deaf or blind. I don't even mind not being able to use magic, it's just disconcerting not having any awareness of what's going on outside of what I can physically touch, see and hear.

Aye, that's going to get difficult to clean up if he doesn't get it under control. I once destroyed an entire mansion house with nothing but plant life. On purpose, but still. I wouldn't make him extra emotional, if I were you.
