Okay so maybe these are really obviously and dumb questions, but how do people pick majors? How do you decide what you want to do with the rest of your life? And how do you do that here? With all the inpredictability, how do you figure that out in Vallo? How do you plan for that?

Kind of related, is anyone hiring? I think maybe a gap summer or something might help. Or it won't. Maybe I'm just destined to be Maybe. Why does no one tell you being an adult is so hard? Or am I just really bad at everything? Can't con Can't hurt, right?

I've been thinking about doing the school thing. At least here the school isn't always trying to kill you, so might even be fun. But all your questions are basically where I'm stuck, too.

Your school keeps trying to kill you, too? Huh. The schools here haven't tried to kill me so that's good. Well, they haven't tried to kill me outside of being school and having work and that kind of stuff. No clue if it's nice to know there's others in this boat or not. I'd say maybe we need self help books but this isn't a self help books solution. Or maybe it is. But I'm not feeling the self help books today.

It used to, yeah, although near the end there I think it was mostly just trying to make a point.

Honestly thinking about it makes me miss my Mum even more. I probably would have ignored her advice anyway, but she's usually right about things. Course it would be great if there was a book lying around somewhere with all the answers, but somehow I doubt it.

What was the point it was trying to make?

My dad would be the same. I miss him, and I know he'd have some good advice. My mom's here, and I know she's also good for that stuff. And other things. But he's got the whole dad thing going for him. They usually seem to be right about those things don't they? Even if it just sounds like a lecture in the moment. If there's a book, I bet it's conditional and super niche. There's probably spells, but I don't think they'd really help long term.

Oh, something about how ACTUALLY it was trying to SAVE us the whole time, which considering it kept dumping monsters on my freshmen was a bit hard to believe. Anyway the whole place is floating off in the void now, so fuck that place and all the horrible things in it.

I mean she's not right about EVERYTHING, on account of being all 'there's good in everyone and everything hail gaia blah blah' but I do wish she was here for me to not listen to her. Your dad sounds cool though.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't be able to do the spells even if found 'em anyway. Stuff that's actually helpful hardly ever does. You good at that kind of thing?

That's a weird way to try to save someone. And that's certainly an image. How'd that happen?

If they were right about everything? I think we'd never hear the end of it. I'm not saying anyone should be forced here but maybe she'll show up or you'll get something from home. People have gotten stuff from home before. And yeah he's pretty cool most of the time.

Cool. I mean I sort of assumed, since you brought it up. Are you good at like all magic generally, or do you have an affinity for a particular type?

No that's fine.

Maybe you'll get to somehow.

There are different types of magic, but I don't have any specific affinity. Some covens and witches use specific types, and some people might have added gifts, and some are more limited than others depending on their source. But a lot has always seemed to me about preferences and what you're taught. Bonnie would know way more than me though.
