I'm Dustin.

What are the chances of getting another one of these devices if I take this one apart to look at how it works?

Are the doorways really going to teleport me to other places on the island and not somewhere awful?

Are we 100% sure this isn't an illusion but instead some weird spider and the fly shit and my brains are actually being eaten by murderous bats?

Is there a radio shack here? I need to get some tools but I should be able to. Its smaller than I'm used to.

Well, that explains it. Radio Shack is obsolete but I recommend you don't spend any money. I'm part of the tech division for the DOA so I'm happy to show you how it all works once you're settled. Less chance of you potentially breaking something in the process.

I knew it would happen at some point, but I didn't expect to see it happen before I was thirty. Breaking something just means I get to learn how to fix it. But I will definitely take you up on learning how it works.

What does the tech division do here?

Technical support in the broad sense. We've helped create a device similar to the one you have that can accommodate a dragon so they can interact on the network, for example - and sometimes when things attack we provide other alternatives for defense and offense that isn't magic-related.

There are plenty other mythical creatures here too and probably more dragons - just no network access. But don't worry, Vallo's a lot to take in on the first day. Sounds like you'll enjoy your time here at least.

The hostile ones are typically contained but avoid the shifting woods in case. Is this a bad time to tell you about the island of dinosaurs, or...?

Not without supervision. It's not commercially advertised or anything - you'd have to request access through the DOA and then be escorted by someone from what I understand. I think the main focus is to let them exist without human interference.

Less casualties that way.
