So, turns out patrolling is a lot easier when the folk you're chasing suddenly decide that it's a good time to take a nap.

Sort of takes the fun out of the job though.

ARGHHHH!

I am going out to hit things. It would be very unwise of anyone to commit crimes in New York City right now. I will not pay for hospital bills when I break you.

Been a while since I've checked in, pretty sure we've had another influx, seems to come in waves the same as the crazy does. Glad that last patch has worn off though, folk aren't meant to go that fast under their own power.

I'm Book, Shepherd Book if you're one that likes titles, and I've got something of a halfway house at [address] in London, door's always welcome to newcomers that need someplace to stay while they get their feet under them, sort out how the 'verse works.

Invitation's open to those who've already been here a while too, anybody who needs somewhere to get away for an hour or two, even a day or two.

So, this whole super-speed thing? It ain't so bad as all that now that I've figured out how to work it so I don't end up breaking the sound barrier every time I start running. Won't be sorry to see it go when it does though, pretty sure it ain't going to last.

Seems to me like there's been another influx. Those of you who are new here, welcome. My name's Book, Shepherd Book if you're one of those that likes titles for people, and if you're finding yourself displaced in time, or even just location and need some help getting your bearings and getting back on your feet, I run a halfway house of sorts [London address]
Feel free to come by day or night, I'm usually around.

This place really is strange, but aside from the random bouts of crazy it really isn't all that different from home. I like it.

Easier to help folk here, for one thing, folk back home seem to resist help like it'll burn them if they get any. Not everyone, of course, but most. Always seemed strange to me, could be it's a pride thing, can understand that well enough.

Weather's been pretty cold these days, [London address] is still open to anybody who needs company or a meal, even a place to sleep, just don't freeze yourself getting here.

This is a notice to let people know that [London address] is still open to those in need of somewhere to stay for an hour or a day or however long they may need to get their bearings. It's always been open mostly for those displaced in time, while they get settled here, and I see no reason that this should change just because most folk seem to be displaced, including myself.

Stop on by if you need some company, I've got the water on for tea.

And here I was starting to think I'd dreamed this place up during my ... somewhat re-directed Mission.

Though I'm not sure that's much of a comfort, knowing that the last thing I remember before coming back here was a pretty severe case of lead poisoning.

Seems like there's always another batch of newcomers, funny thing about this place, always pulling folk in from all over.

For the new ones (and maybe the old ones, if you haven't seen it yet) my name's Book, and I had some people give me a helping hand on my first few days, so I'm repaying that by passing it on.

Anybody who needs some help getting things sorted out, need a few days to get your feet back under you, feel free to come by and see me [London address]. Place is open to the lost, don't matter how badly, whether you need a mug of tea and some directions to the zoo, or a couch to sleep on for a couple days while you adjust I'm open for all comers, especially those displaced in time as well as space.

I've also been told that I'm pretty good with the advice, if that's what you need instead, don't worry about it being too late or too early, help's provided at all hours.

Just so you know, this offer from last week is still open, especially to those who've been displaced in time. Seems like we've had a rash of newcomers, welcome.

Seems that most come forward in time instead of back. Or maybe just sideways. Someone explained it to me as sidways then back, and that's as good an explanation as any. I'm still new here myself, as far as these things go, but I know a few things, and I know how to find out other things, if you've got any questions.

The way I figure it, this time of year nobody should be alone, not that folk should be alone any other time either, just seems worse this time of year, blame it on the cold. So, in that spirit I'm sharing the home I fell into here [London address].

Anybody who needs a place to stay for a day or two, even if you just want company for a couple hours, maybe a warm meal, feel free to come by, door's always open for folk in need, don't matter to me if you've just arrived or if you've been here for ages, all that matters is you need some company.

It's very different here than it is at home, and different from what I was taught it was like here.

I'm not sure yet whether these differences are good or bad, though I'd believe towards the good because I'd like to believe that people are inherently good, though some of them try very hard not to believe it, even of themselves. Just human nature I guess.

What's your story? Where were you before, and what would you be doing if you were still there now?

How is it December already?

Anyone with a little free time and hard working hands, I could use some help decorating the church for the season.

I have fresh fruit. Fresh fruit that I didn't have to pay a small fortune for.

How the human race goes from readily available produce to outgrowing a whole planet in just a few hundred years is beyond me. I've been trying to wrap my brain around it and I simply can't.

Enjoying the grapes though.

So it seems that whoever I have replaced here is hired muscle. It's nothing I don't know how to do, it seems, so I don't see any reason not to continue, I can still follow the principles of the Brotherhood even here while living through ancient history, perhaps plant the seeds for what it will become, which is strange to think of by itself.

This world seems to be that way though, strange. I'm learning, the monks always said I was good at learning, that I absorb whatever's being taught like a dry sponge absorbs water. I like to think it's the reason my mother left me on their steps. It's certainly the way that I learn to help those around me.

Miss Yamamura, thank you for your help yesterday, I've already begun to learn my way around the city, don't think I really could have managed without your assistance.

Well that was ... interesting.

Would someone, anyone really, mind telling me what just happened and where I am? Because I'm fairly certain that this isn't Winterrock, or anywhere on Saint Albans for that matter.

I'm used to not knowing where I'm going, but not knowing where I am is new.
