Friends, family, and any peripheral members of their social circle --
Apparently, I'm going to have a baby tonight, or more likely technically the morning of the 5th. I'll be leaving for [hospital in London] in about an hour from when I post this. If anyone wants to call me, my number is [cell phone number]. I'll update with the room phone line when we get there. By great good fortune, I have Miniver's cousin Riordan coming with us to get the phone when I can't.
This is a bit like herding cats, trying to get him and Miniver and Sable to do anything simultaneously, but once we get there, anyone is welcome to come visit at any time. Sable and I will personally bully the doctors into allowing it. It'll be many, many hours before anything exciting happens, though, so don't anybody start panicking. |

Well, that certainly was an experience. I'm happy to say that things are looking far more bright for Port-Au-Prince.
Jack and I have returned to Florida, where we'll be staying with the lady Captain Bonney, Who may or may not feed anyone who comes to see us. She also may whap me with her ladle for saying so. Still, we're no worse for wear, my library is intact, and the Captain's things are perfectly sound, which I know comes as a relief to him as well.
Now what's this I hear about family crises? |
