Are you alright?

Not to be adding to the list of problems, bit it seems like either the accommodation here is not built very well or my strength and speed has increased by an alarming percent.

I have not tested the speed so much anything, but I feel like I can life several times my own weight which is quite frankly not normal for me.

Is there anyone I should report this to?

Does that mean you guys can help me repair my former primary shield? And if you can, can you please consider helping me out? It's not that my dad's shield isn't [...] fantastic, but my other one's much more portable.

Okay, so I get that for some of us this is going to be, like, all sorts of super-traumatic and shit.

But I can't be the only one geeking out right now, right? This is so much cooler than Old-Timey Paris.

For those of you still on the fence, I Do Not recommend getting yourself blown up. Wow, that is Not Fun. Repeat, Not Fun.

Although this whole dying and coming back thing raises some interesting questions. Personally I'm hoping for, like, reconstructive nanobots or something, because if they're pulling versions of us out of timelines where we didn't make that mistake, or made it a second or two later, then it's getting Really Messy Really Quickly and we have to start dealing with some proper existential issues about who we actually are and stuff.

ANYWAY. I guess we lost that one, huh?

Just to make you all aware it looks like there are other things to be wary off out on the streets.

I met a couple who seemed very poor, I gave them some money for their sick child on Friday and well lets just say they have come back to me several times for money over the past couple of days with pleas for more money to help their child.

Needless to say I have given them quite an amount before turning them away on the grounds that I do not think their story was entirely genuine.

I wonder how much longer we'll have to be in this shithole place? People are dying of a disease that I can barely spell that doesn't even exist in the 20th century as far as I know. I've been doing everything the Time Agency said to keep from getting sick and I'm fine but still I don't wanna die here it gives me the creeps.

I would normally look to take photographic or audio/visual recording of my progress but given the technological limitations of my environment I have resorted to documenting my activities into a journal. It has been almost a month since my arrival to Paris and I cannot say it has been a positive experience so far. The Time Agency made some attempts to prepare me for the surroundings I find myself in however, I feel they are oblivious to some of the challenges these people are facing or would prefer for us as visitors to find these out for ourselves.

Whilst I have spent a fair amount of time as most people do reading about our history, it was my hope that various facts about the environment would be embellished somewhat. This maybe the case in some areas however, the average life of a civilian is as traumatic as the history books suggest. It is surprising to me how a lot of these individuals survive given the challenges they face on a day to day basis.
The surroundings can be inhospitable in places and it is clear there is a divide between those who are privileged and those who are unfortunately barely able to provide for themselves of their families. The plight of these individuals not unknown, but to some it is although they are completely invisible and there is no necessity to help them under any circumstance. Faced with this directly, it bothers me.

I understand the need for revolution; I have heard several of the locals discuss how this manifested. I have seen the actions from the other side from a distance; it is easy to see why this course of action was deemed necessary. They believe in the cause entirely, you can see it in their eyes; it is either win or die trying. They will go to all sorts of extremes and make all sorts of sacrifices to see it through.
Being a scientist and not qualified in military strategy, I am struggling to find ways to contribute to our objective. The severe limitation on technology is also something which is frustrating particularly when it can be seen as conspicuous in acquiring random materials. Not even the most simple of helpful inventions can be made with such limitations.

The only thing I can see at present as being the most helpful thing is making a model of the area so they can plan strategically about where they can deploy people. The maps they have provided are somewhat helpful but I know that maps do not always tell the full picture. Despite my best efforts I do not know if this is appreciated or not.

Just as I seemed to make a productive beginning I was taken back to Headquarters for rest and relaxation. I did not mind the change in environment however; I was curious as to the decision and always wanted to understand how we were chosen in the first place. I shall look to continue the model as mentioned to the locals, I am sure they will find it helpful however, it will not be to scale.

I might suggest Marty gives me a hand with it, I think it might take his mind off things. I never know where that kid is.

Did you miss me? What have you been up to the last couple of days whilst I was gone?

So I was considering how I could contribute to this situation we find ourselves having to deal with. I'm not a diplomat or military trained and given the restrictions on technology, it's going to be difficult for me to put anything together that is going to aid us or give us a technological advantage.

However, if anyone has any suggestions then please let me know.

I don't know if you have a chamber or war room to discuss your strategic plans, but I was thinking I believe I can construct a model of the local area so you can picture more clearly where people need to position themselves.

I'm more than happy to get to work on this, it would help me to feel useful. If anyone wants to assist then let me know. Although I will warn you, it will not be to scale.

Well now that was a little unexpected. Whoever tried to mug me certainly did not seem to get away with much, now I am glad that I was not allowed to bring my equipment with me.

Thank you to whoever found me, it seems that I might get a nice lump on my head.
