RP Log; Skye & Grant Ward
Who: Grant Ward & Skye (& Cameo by Deathlok)
When: July 7
Where: The Bus, somewhere above California
What: It’s not personal (except for those moments when it’s totally personal)
Rating: Moderate-y probably
Status: COMPLETE.
Five minutes. Grant Ward’s jaw tightened as he briefly wondered why the hell he was taking orders from Deathlok of all people. Garrett should have been talking directly to him and not through Mike Petersen, but with only five minutes and a clock ticking, he didn’t have time to focus on that problem. No, the problem was the woman in front of him, the agent whose supervising officer he’d been, a woman who had surprised him multiple times over in the past twenty-four hours, in some ways good and in some ways bad, and now he was left wondering how much of anything, from the kiss, to the hand holding, to the conversations they’d had at Providence base had been real. How long had she realised who he was? She must have run into Koenig, he should have put him in a closet, not up - the blood would have run down and if she went into the room - The line of thought was not useful. There was still a mission. A mission in which Skye was unfortunately still at the center, and Grant needed to get her out of the focus. He needed to get her to tell him how to remove the encryption from the drive and then he could likely convince Garrett that he could handle Skye from here on out, and surely she’d come around. Hell, she hadn’t been convinced of SHIELDs usefulness at the beginning - she had been a Rising Tide hacker initially after all, her loyalties had shifted once already, and unless he’d read her entirely wrong she did care about him. He stepped forward, giving her an expression that was calm and reasonable, rather than the frustrated one he’d just given Deathlok. He just had to talk some sense into her -- help her to realise what was at stake and what was possible if she helped him out. “Skye, look, I can explain -- I have a mission, and I need that data. It’s not personal. The sooner you give me that information, the sooner I can make certain you’re safe.” |
