Hey, I'm Peter. I'm from Queens. You got a spare couch?

[...]

This is aliens, right? Like when the Chitauri invaded New York?

[...]

So my name's Peter Parker. I'm a good student. I won't be any trouble. I like sandwiches.

[...]

Man, I just flew in from New York and boy are

[...]

You know that one old TV show where they go through the portals and go to all those crazy alternate universes?

My name is Peter Parker. I'm fifteen years old. I'm pretty quiet and won't cause any problems. Seriously you won't even notice I'm there. I need a guardian before I can leave so if you've got a spare couch or anything I'd really appreciate it.

His couch? Really? Alright, you're staying with me. I'd never hear the end of it from your aunt if she knew I was letting you sofa surf on a stranger's couch. I have an extra bedroom at my place.

Hey, it's a comfortable couch with the Peter Parker seal of approval. Multiple seals. Man, the multiverse, I swear...

Also, not a stranger in general, but ha, again, that multiverse thing where you know people but they don't know you and man do I get tired of that.

Which is a hey, I'm Ben. A bedroom would be better for him, but he does end up ever crashing over here, just know that I've got his back, ok?

Multiverse or not, I'm partially responsible for this kid back home. It may as well extend here, too, albeit in a more official capacity. But thanks.

Just so you know, the partially responsible thing is still weird, but yeah, multiverses.

But I understand. I feel responsible for him too, even if it's complicated. No matter the universe, he's family. So, I'm here to lend a hand. Last few times he was here, I know he was coming from a tough place, so yeah, I'm here to help.

It's deeply weird, but it happened, and now I'm just going with it.

So what's your story, Ben? I started reading up on the multiverses a while ago, but got a little preoccupied.

I mean, I can't say much, I worked at Stark Industries back on my world, but I mean, working as a random techie and being a ward are totally different things.

To be fair, that's a huge reading list. Just checking out 616 could take you years. Have you been focusing on just you or did you read up on Pete any?

It was really more of a general perusal of myself and any universal shakeups.

Which really is still enough reading material for at least a week. Even if you just skim the wiki.

So, let's see, my story. Well, I've been on this wild multiverse ride for, wow, three years now. Time flies, right? I teach mainly chemistry at the local high school and I'm also Spider-Man.

Do I even want to know why there are so many of you spider-people running around? Is there an influx of radioactive spiders in your universe?

We were never that popular in high school, so the universe decided to make up for that?

I'd say that one universe doesn't have that many spiders, but... I think the main one had... Ok, I can't do a count on it with just past spiders, because that count gets ridiculous... But let's see, ones I met from there, would be... at least 6? Not all radioactive spider bites, but, yeah...

A lot of us here met before when the multiverse was under attack by weird vampires that liked whatever energy us spiders give off. So, you got a lot of alternate world versions popping up of 'oh no, someone else got bitten by the spider!' and then just other worlds getting creative. Just be glad the pig hasn't come through.

Pig?

Nevermind. I don't even want to know.

Let's just say there's a Looney Tunes universe somewhere out there. I think you're a mouse there. If the talking pig can be trusted. Personally I would've gone with a long legged bird instead because, c'mon, Tony Stork.

But, uh, yeah, some of the worlds explode with the number of spiders for other reasons. Scientists just really like messing with us...

Of course there is. Guess Tony Stork was a bit too on the nose.

Homework? Jesus Afraid so, but I haven't a clue if it's still in session. I guess I'll look into it.

Do you need a backpack?

Thank you, Mr. Stark!

I mean, I need a backpack to carry my stuff for school. Also the Spider-Man costume. Just in case.

So the suit came through with you. Not sure there are a whole lot of purse snatchers in small town Texas.
