The Aurors: Threads

+ Spinnet, O'Brian, & Ghezzi get a lead on Caulk and catch him and a few minions which gives the team a lead on a Ergot/drug deal happening on Friday night. Wilkes is expected to be there.
+ Case insights: Wilkes is connected/working for the Chicago mob syndicate (Elwood Family) who have been dealing in bonedust and more recently Ergot. Behind the scenes, Brigid Playfer is connected to this family, although the department has not yet figured this out. The Chicago crime syndicate were the people who helped Wilkes hide in the United States. There is a sale of Ergot (and other substances) going down on Friday night which was given up by Jaxson Jay Caulk.

+ Case insights: Regan and Regina are sisters. Reagan is a known accomplice to Wilkes. Wilkes is now suspected to be deal in Ergot on behalf of the Elwood family. The hit at the newspaper party was a test. They are certainly looking to go wider and cause more trouble.

+ On Monday, Ben and Grant went out to Long Island to investigate the case of Thomas McLean an artifacts collector who has been missing. The store gets exploded. They do bring back some pretty cool cursed knives.

• Fergus Wilkes spotted for the first time in years at the NYPL. Aurors O’Brian & Ghezzi assigned along with Hit Wizard Spinnet.


• On Thursday and Friday LEOs at the scene were questioned, as well as the material witnesses (Noboru and Jonas)


• Sighting has been confirmed, Wilkes is suspected to still be in NYC, especially as second report from an CI on Sunday also reported sighting.

  • Dayton ‘Lucky’ Shock - known criminal king pin in the Bronx, although suspected of various crimes, no solid evidence has ever been uncovered to put him away.
  
  
  • Jaxson Jay Caulk - The enforcer, known for breaking a few bones, he has a criminal record, shows up across the department every couple of years and gets put away for a few months at a time.
  
  
  • Reagan Caple - incarcerated for killing her parents while high on a new designer potion. She is still in jail. And she is now a poor historian.
  
  
  • Director Duvall will inform Auror Singleton of the Wilkes confirmed sighting.

• Ergot laced cookies showed up at the New York Daily News Holiday party. The cookies were made at La Delice Pastry.


• Auror Hastings was able to identify a specific cookie as containing ergot.


• No-maj witnesses were oblivated (and Kent is back in town) and two no-maj suffering more extreme reactions to the cookies were moved to the Healing Center for monitoring.


• Aurors Knight and Hastings visited the bakery on 12/17 to interview the baker (and squib) Regina Caple. She has no memory of foul play and the chain of custody is clean back to the bakery.

• Delegate Mendoza has been receiving threats. They have been steadily occurring as part of the fall out from Salem as many are not happy with how it was handled.


• A package containing a rat king made it through her security last week. Auror Hastings did the intake interview.


• Currently unnoticed to the aurors a series of internet posts with veiled threats have been showing up on WizPix
