I feel as though I might need witch etiquette classes before this party, though I suppose witches are less easy to offend than fae (and I didn't manage to make a fool of myself at the New Year's Eve party in Finland). At least, I hope I didn't. Even though I did sort of sneak off away from the party for a bit... I grew up on stories of Baba Yaga/Močiutė Jaga and that as queen of the witches she had to be approached with respect and sincerity. I know she's not actually real (probably??) but I think you can't go wrong if you approach everyone with those two ideals in mind.

Anyone want to join me tonight for a few hands of poker? Maybe in the dining tent or Delire?

Can anyone recommend a good remedy for a headache born of frustration? Painkillers are the obvious solution but I try to avoid them whenever possible.

It's my own fault.

I spent far too long trying to get the cards to speak to me.

I for one am more than happy with retaliatory action as I do not subscribe to the ’an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind’ however I would caution that cooler heads should prevail at least until Iskander is within our grasp.

This is a man with the ability to persuade people to do exactly what he wants and without sufficient protection, you may well find yourselves incapable of acting on your intent and Patric is likely to have company sooner than any of us would like.

Of course, this is all subject to whether or not anybody has stopped to think before acting after that rather lengthy discussion on Mona’s unintended public post.

Like I said, wouldn’t it be helpful if you had somebody who could protect people from such attacks on the mind?

It's that time again — time to update everyone's headshots. Tell me when you're available. The sooner the better.

Karolina has asked for there to be a memorial service for Patric, and I am honored to lead such a thing for him. It will be the last time that I am able to announce anything for my trick shooter, and all in the Big Top will feel his loss immeasurably.

Please, come to join us on Sunday night after sun down. We will gather in the stands closest to to my tree and tell our stories of Patric and drink to his memory.

I hope that justice is found and the truth of what happened to him is open to us all, but this night will be only for bidding him farewell.

Happy World Nutella Day and Happy Chocolate Fondue Day. And what is fondue but melted nutella, when it comes down to it? (I can't be sure as I have never actually had fondue. It was never really a thing back home.) I'd be celebrating in the traditional way, but I have no chocolate of any sort (much to my own dismay).

I am looking forward to when I don't have to buy a whole new wardrobe every time we arrive in a new location. But I have Greek holiday clothes, Finnish winter clothes, and now a few more demure long dresses to suit the climate here, and the most beautiful blue headscarf.

The nights here feel so alive, especially after frigid Helsinki. It's nice to hear so much talk and laughter on the midway again. There's never a quiet moment out there, and the shop is going through so much tea. I will need to restock: how fortunate there are markets full of spices so nearby!

I found your mint. I stole a few sprigs from the botanic gardens (don't tell!) and they're in a jar on your step. Keep their ends in water and within a week they will have roots and you can plant them on a windowsill. Mint grows roots so fast you will not even believe it :)

It's been kind of a slow day and I'm feeling antsy. I need to get out for a bit and explore the city while I still have the chance.
