Cirque Noir

Hello, to the Netherlands. Mijn luchtkussenboot zit vol paling. I'm excited to be here, although I don't speak more than a few sentences of Dutch myself.

I haven't done too much in the city yet, other than walk around and take in the different experience to Yokohama. But Isaac and I have been out to look at some of the flower fields together and took photos like we were instagram influencers, but we weren't the only ones doing it and I suspect the others thought we were mocking them a little.

I don't have many future plans yet but Wednesday I am going out to a very lavish restaurant to have dinner with Bliss and actually wear some of the remarkable clothes Elia buys me. (And the shoes! I'm sorry, Elia, the shoes hardly ever get an outing.)

I know you're probably always so very busy, but I was wondering if I could put my name down to get a new work costume? The one I have is the same one I've had since 2014 (although there was 10 years in there where it wasn't being worn and maybe didn't even exist, because I still don't know how all my things disappeared and just returned)

I have a photo of the current one here. I do enjoy the steampunk look as it very much matches the shop and I like the skull design, but maybe something with less legs on display and not a corset? My legs always feel so naked!

The midway was somewhere Etienne did not often get the opportunity to visit—despite its allure and the atmosphere of utter magic and wonder that patrons left lingering in the air each night, the longer the pierrot had been with the cirque the more he found himself exclusively between the big top, his caravan, and off-grounds. It had been at least a month since he'd really wandered the grounds without purpose, and deciding to do so before their next move seemed something worthwhile ( with which to fill his spare time. )

I am exhausted and ready to fall into bed but so far Japan has been so much fun. I have never before been to karaoke and I have never before sung in public! Surprisingly less terrifying than anticipated and, wow, do some of you have amazing voices. I shouldn't be surprised though.

The cirque last night was an excellent opening and the tea room was so busy that I barely managed to find time to even take a single break between opening and close. I ran out of a couple of the tea blends I'd made especially for Japan, so a shopping trip is in my future. But right now it's time for devouring some breakfast/dinner before I sleep. (The cirque really encourages the worst habits in me.)

Do you know how pissed off I would have been if I had to travel by normal means, getting to India and then realizing that I had to go to Japan instead? Flights are expensive. And long. And the food is just never what it ought to be, even if I'm flying first class.
