CADET TRAINING UPDATE, PLEASE READ

We've been talking over the cadet program so we can give you guys some actual details of what's going on with them training wise. They are, as the information says, something of a cross between actually attending a military academy and the ROTC on steroids, and this means that S.H.I.E.L.D. does own your ass.

They start all week days with a mandatory turnout for calisthenics and frequently a five mile run. They carry a regular academic course schedule, plus much more extensive powers training than the college students, both one on one and as a unit. Two afternoons a week (Tuesday and Thursday), they turn out for physical training drills, obstacle courses, hand to hand combat, etc. These frequently involve problem solving and the need to think strategically, not just physical prowess, as well as the requirement to complete the entire assignment as a team. Some drills are done with powers, others are powers free. The runs are always powers free. If anyone turns up late for a training exercise it is extended for everyone, and those waiting will be put through extra exercises while they wait.

There are also weekly 'barracks' inspections, never announced in advance. Saturdays they also have a morning run, but the time can range anywhere from 3:30am to 6am, depending on the Agent in charge that week, and may last from one to three hours at his or her discretion. They are not notified in advance, they are simply rousted with a knock at the door. All training is generally done in BDUs, but intermittently they are ordered without warning to report in full uniform. If your uniform is not clean and presentable you will be assigned extra training drills.

Two to three times a semester when they are rousted for their Saturday morning run they are ordered to report to supply to collect full gear and are taken for a full weekend of training exercises instead. They are not given advance warning on this and are given no extra time to cancel and rearrange plans. (We will give players a week advance warning when one of these events is coming up, but the characters get none.)

Once a month, senior Cadets are paired with an Agent for specialized training or to simply follow them through their daily routine.
