TIME UPDATE

Sunday, July 1st - Saturday, July 7th

SUNDAY, JULY 1st:
Weather: The thunderstorm that began the night before continues throughout the day until sunset, leaving the rest of the evening cool and breezy.;64°/42°

EVENTS
→ The carnival is officially gone. /sadface but with the rain all day, no one is really feeling like spending their time outside anyway.

→ The new church is almost complete! It's really coming together quite fast and it's truly a beautiful church. A new sign in front of the construction reads: St. Joseph's, July 15th, 9am

MONDAY, JULY 2nd:
Weather:  The sun peeks out today and it's a warm one, if a bit windy;76°/62°

EVENTS
→ Nothing too crazy happens today. But anyone who has ever come into contact with the Dark Man, or has seen him on the street, is going to have terrible nightmares about him tonight... ones that feel extremely real, including any pain he may inflict upon them in their dreams. Think Freddy Krueger, just without the actual death. Any wounds or injuries sustained in their dreams will be there when they wake up. But no sign of the Dark Man.

TUESDAY, JULY 3rd:
Weather: Another lovely day! So much sun!;74°/59°

EVENTS
→ Pomeroy Park is hosting Movies in the Park tonight. The movie tonight will be Jurassic Park at 7:00pm. The event is free and open to all!

→ There is a brand new business in town! Wonder Cone has opened up beside Loomis's shop and is an ice cream wonderland.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 4th:
Weather: It's a lovely day today and not a cloud in the sky!;78°/59°

EVENTS
→  The Annual Fourth of July Parade & Festival will begin at 11am on Main St. and end around 9:00pm that evening. There are plenty of food and beverage vendors, some smaller games to play and plenty of music and entertainment. Fireworks begin over the marina at 10pm.

THURSDAY, JULY 5th:
Weather: A cooler day with light showers on and off;71°/55°

EVENTS
→ Quiet and peaceful.

FRIDAY, JULY 6th
Weather: The light showers have turned into a torrent of rain, complete with thunder and lightning well into the night! A miserable night if you had wanted to have some outdoor fun;75°/54°

EVENTS
→ Enjoy the rainy day!

SATURDAY, JULY 7th:
Weather: The storm rolls out of town around 5am but the gray clouds remain all day;76°/52°

EVENTS
→ For anyone who has dealt with the creepy insanity of the Cooperdale Tunnel... they're going to feel very drawn to the area today. There's no explanation as to why... it's just a very morbid curiosity and it's up to them whether or not they go... but damn, they really want to go. If they do go, they're each going to be drawn to a small, but really beautiful rock near the entrance. It's no bigger than a thumbnail and holds a greenish hue. They'll be compelled to take it. If one person goes, there will be one rock... if two people go, they'll be lucky enough to find two rocks... it's a never ending supply for whomever comes around. A gift, one might say.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, June 24th - Saturday, June 30th

SUNDAY, JUNE 24th:
Weather: The thunderstorm from Saturday night continues into Sunday morning, finally clearing up around noon. The day remains breezy and cool, but not unpleasant.;66°/48°

EVENTS
→ Surprise, surprise! There's a carnival in town!  The Le Cirque des âmes Perdues is located in the large expanse of empty space between the marina and the Point Pleasant Museum. One wouldn't think such a large carnival could fit in the area, but... somehow it does. It's not difficult for anyone in town to see the top of the Ferris wheel, even if they're across town, and the very top of the main carnival tent where the animal shows take place. Everything about the carnival seems old-fashioned, or rather...vintage, from the ticket booths to the vendors. The only modern items seem to be the rides and some of the games. The Carnival is owned by Mr. Andre Radley, though he may be hard to find if you're trying.  It's quite a surprise, as there were no signs advertising the carnival, but... it's something to do! And everyone in town is going to feel a pull towards it... whether they decide to go or not is up to them, but they're going to feel some major FOMO if they resist.

The majority of the Carnival's employees are very... muted. They go about their tasks quietly and obediently. If you ask them for help, they merely point you in the direction you need to go, with no words spoken. If you pester them, they will simply turn and walk away. Those operating the rides are exactly the same way. The only enthusiasm you'll receive is from those working the games and smaller attractions, trying to entice you into spending your tickets to try and win a prize. Only those really paying close attention will see how forced their smiles are, and how the feature of warmth and excitement doesn't quite reach their glassy eyes.

Rides include but are not limited to:
The Ferris Wheel: Such a fun ride for all ages!
The Round Up: It's not recommended to ride this attraction if you've just eaten... no one wants to be puked on. But there's a very good chance that if you're riding this, you may spot one of Point Pleasant's missing or dead on the ride with you, strapped in and holding tight... it can be very disorienting... but when the ride stops, of course they're not there.
The Tunnel of Love: They say there's a fine line between love and hate. Some of those who ride this game will either go through intense feelings of lustfulness towards your ride partner... or undeniable rage...it only lasts as long as the ride does, thankfully!
The Carousel: If the carousel moves forward, many of those riding will see visions of their future... if the carousel moves backward, they will relive moments of their past, good or bad.
Bumper Cars

Attractions include but are not limited to:
Fortune Telling: A reading with Madame Zena is simple enough. She's cagey and as vague as most fortune tellers... although, you can ask her to answer one question truthfully about your future for a price! No question is off-limits - she knows all.
Maze of Mirrors (Some people may realize something or someone is stalking them. They will see a terrifying being in various mirrors... it may not be scary to some, and those people will have no trouble getting out of the attraction. Those who do become scared find it harder and harder to find the exit and unless they're with a friend, there's no one around to help, or hear them scream as the being stalking them seems to get closer to them within the mirrors... obvious they will eventually find the doors out, but only when they reach a breaking point... then the hall to the exit will mysteriously appear...)
The Funhouse: Ballpits! Slides! Floors that seem to break away beneath your feet! (don't worry, it's just an illusion). Super duper fun and not at all scary, even with the clowns silently watching you from the corners. A few people may go missing in this ride, but thankfully their families and friends will have no real memory of them, so there's really no one to miss, right? Those "missing" will be joining the carnival staff the next day. Some people in town may recognize them in a very vague "they look so familiar" sort of way, but that's it.

The games are all pretty self-explanatory. But there's a high chance of winners, which is probably odd given how these games are designed to ensure the player loses. Stuffed animals, plastic jewelry... all the kitschy things are here for you to take home. They make you sick, they may make you really lucky for a few days... they may just be random, boring old prizes. Who can really tell??

There are plenty of vendors as well, selling various treats, fried foods, ice cream, cotton candy, etc. A few booths sell alcohol (of course, you must be wearing a 21 and over bracelet to purchase!), including the Carnival's featured beverage for adults: The Merry Maker! It's honestly just a cocktail containing pineapple, rum, and lime... so simple and so delicious! Oh... and yes, it will also have you bearing your soul to whoever will listen. The effects don't last long unless you have more than one while you're visiting, then things might get a little uncomfortable.

The carnival is here all week from 10am to 11:45pm and the various "events" won't happen to every character, every day... and certainly, those strange things won't be limited to what is listed here.

MONDAY, JUNE 25th:
Weather:  A clear, breezy day;72°/54°

EVENTS
→ The carnival is in town... what else would anyone be doing?

TUESDAY, JUNE 26th:
Weather: Another lovely day! So much sun!;74°/59°

EVENTS
→ Didn't you know the carnival is still in town??

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27th:
Weather: Three days in a row of gorgeous summer weather;76°/54°

EVENTS
→  Animal control is called after an abnormal amount of snakes is found in the front yard of Parish Hunt, an elderly man who has been rather reclusive for over a decade. There's no sign that Parish is home and he has no family to report him missing.
→ Oh yeah, the carnival is still here!

THURSDAY, JUNE 28th:
Weather: The skies are cloud-free and as blue as the sea!;73°/57°

EVENTS
→ Despite the creepiness of the carnival, most of the town still finds it incredibly delightful and fun. Most people are forgetting about obligations (like work) to attend and play games and take a spin on the rides. The Carnival workers seem to be growing in number too and the power of the carnival is really causing a stir around Point Pleasant. Who knew the town could get something this fun? Almost everyone is so happy and relaxed and they're so happy to turn over their money (and maybe a part of their souls) to stay.

FRIDAY, JUNE 29th
Weather: Sunny!;79°/48°

EVENTS
→  Who cares? Let's go to the carnival!

SATURDAY, JUNE 30th:
Weather: Some cloudy skies, but nothing ominous, at not until nightfall, then a pretty severe thunderstorm kicks in, leaving it rather unsafe to leave wherever you may be sheltered;81°/56°

EVENTS
→ Anyone at the carnival today will be chased out by the thunderstorm that rolls in as the sunsets. After everyone has left, the carnival begins packing up and is gone by morning, leaving behind no real sign that it had ever been there but for some trash littering the ground.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, June 17th - Saturday, June 23rd

SUNDAY, JUNE 17th:
Weather: Warm and partly cloudy.;75°/55°

EVENTS
→ What a lovely day. The despair that St. Dismas was gone forever may be lifted a bit today as a new building structure as gone up seemingly overnight! A wooden construction sign stands in the yard, announcing the building of St. Benedict's Catholic Church. Huzzah!

MONDAY, JUNE 18th:
Weather: Showers in the morning that clear up around noon leaving the skies partly cloudy the rest of the day;72°/54°

EVENTS
→ With the morning showers comes another bout of thick fog that thankfully clears up when the rain does. Nothing abnormal here! The fog over the ocean remains throughout the day, but that's not unusual, given how warm the days are getting and how cold the ocean is!
→ Various people in town wake up feeling an overwhelming urge to give into their vices a bit more aggressively today. It could be as simple as smoking more than usual, sleeping all day or fucking until they pass out. It might also be drinking to excess or giving into violent tendencies. There's no rhyme or reason to it and the people who experience this is completely random. Hopefully nobody gets hurt.

TUESDAY, JUNE 19th:
Weather: Sunny and clear skies;75°/61°

EVENTS
→ Nothing of note happens today. Call it a recovery day, if you want.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20th:
Weather: Sunny;81°/50°

EVENTS
→ After dark, some people in town may experience a visit from a Shadowy figure. Hallucinations and nightmares are not uncommon when this entity feeds off of you. Thankfully there are no major side effects after the fact beyond exhaustion or disorientation. When it wears off, you may even feel better than usual, like all of your negative energy has been sucked right out of you. Better than therapy, am I right?

THURSDAY, JUNE 21st:
Weather: A bit cooler today with morning showers that clear up around 7am. Cloudy for the rest of the day;73°/57°

EVENTS
→ The Orion's Spooky Summer Horror Film Festival begins tonight through Saturday the 23rd. Each night at 9:00pm, the Orion will be showing a classic horror film in Pomeroy Park! Bring a blanket and some snacks and prepare to be frightened! Tickets are available at the Orion box office all week. The park will close to the public at dusk and only ticket holders (18 and over) will be allowed into the park for the films.
- Thursday: A Nightmare on Elm Street
- Friday: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
- Saturday: Night of the Living Dead

FRIDAY, JUNE 22nd
Weather: Sunny with some mild humidity in the afternoon. In the evening you can hear thunder and see some pretty impressive lightening strikes... but no rain;75°/45°

EVENTS
→ Plenty of live music and fun going on at the pier again tonight.
→ Loomis Gifts & Antiques is having a big sale today while touting new and exciting items now in stock. 50% off the entire store for one day only. Don't miss out!

SATURDAY, JUNE 23rd:
Weather: A bit cooler today. Windy with a thunderstorm rolling in around midnight;68°/54°

EVENTS
→ A pretty normal day... although around 11:30pm or so, right before the storm comes in, several large trucks arrive near the marina. On the sides are large, colorful signs that read: Le cirque des âmes perdues. That's right kids, a carnival is coming to town!

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, June 10th - Saturday, June 16th

SUNDAY, JUNE 10th:
Weather: Partly cloudy but a comfortable, warm breeze throughout the day.;70°/41°

EVENTS
→ The insomnia plaguing the town for the last couple of days disappears in the early morning hours. Sleep!
→  While people were dealing with sleep deprivation, two graves were dug up in the cemetery at some point after two o'clock in the morning. Both were fresh bodies and nothing was left behind but the clothes they were buried in. Ew.

MONDAY, JUNE 11th:
Weather: Another warm, cloudy day;73°/39°

EVENTS
→ Nothing of note happens today. Woo!

TUESDAY, JUNE 12th:
Weather: A warm and sunny day;81°/43°

EVENTS
→ Another quiet day in Point Pleasant? What a great week to catch up on errands and things you've been putting off because of all of the unexplainable bullshit!

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13th:
Weather: Sun, sun, sun!;84°/63°

EVENTS
→ A lovely, quiet day in Point Pleasant... sort of?
→  32 year old Camila Ward is found dead in her home late Wednesday morning after she failed to show up for her job. There are so signs of forced entry into her home and no visible trauma to determine a cause of death, but for one thing - her eyes had gone completely white and her teeth had all fallen out. Obviously an autopsy will be performed to try and discover a cause of death, but in a small town the rumor mill is constantly turning and news of Camila's strange condition travels fast.

THURSDAY, JUNE 14th:
Weather: A bit cooler today with morning showers that clear up around 7am. Cloudy for the rest of the day;63°/48°

EVENTS
→ A thick fog hangs over the water several miles from the Point Pleasant shoreline. It may freak a few people out, considering what had happened the last time fog overtook the town, but thankfully (and weirdly enough) the fog stays put over the water and begins to fade by nightfall.

FRIDAY, JUNE 15th
Weather: Sunny with some passing clouds;75°/45°

EVENTS
→  There is a cocktail party tonight at the Overlook Country Club to help raise funds for the PPPD. Anyone over the age of 21 is allowed to attend with the purchase of a ticket. There will also be music and an auction of local goods. Hours 7pm-10pm.

SATURDAY, JUNE 16th:
Weather: Sunny and breezy;86°/48°

EVENTS
→ Live music at the pier tonight around 6pm with a few vendors scattered about to sell drinks and food to people enjoying the gorgeous weather.
→  There may be a few glimpses of the Dark Man roaming the streets tonight, though he doesn't approach anyone. If you happen to get a glance, all you'll be able to see is his smile beneath his bowler hat and all you'll feel is the intense urge to leave as quickly as possible, wherever you may be.

TIME UPDATE

Friday, June 1st - Saturday, June 9th

FRIDAY, JUNE 1st
Weather: Partly sunny; 82°/59°

EVENTS
→  Almost overnight, Flowers have been planted all along the base of the old Rogan house, which has also been mowed and the bushes sheared and trimmed. Neighbors cannot recall seeing or hearing any landscaping work being done but it looks quite pretty. The old station wagon looks like it's been washed and waxed too. That's nice.

SATURDAY, JUNE 2nd:
Weather: Partly sunny; 72°/54°

EVENTS
→ The high school seniors of Chamberlain High School will graduate today at 1:00pm in the gymnasium of the high school.
→  Tonight, close to ten o'clock, various residents of Point Pleasant will hear blood-curdling screams and cries for help of a woman somewhere outside. It definitely sounds as if someone is being attacked, maybe even murdered. The worst part is, those cries for help sound like someone they know (this varies from person to person). No matter how hard they try, they can't track down the source and eventually, the screams will stop, but it's going to be difficult forgetting that sound. There's no explanation as to where, how or why, but... is there ever?

SUNDAY, JUNE 3rd:
Weather: Partly cloudy with a few scattered showers in the morning that clear up around 10:00apm.;68°/43°

EVENTS
→ If you thought St. Dismas Church would be rebuilt for all of the long suffering Catholics in town, we're sad to say, you were wrong. A crew is out on the site of the burned church tear down the remaining, burnt frame of the church while another is... oddly enough, digging up the old cemetery that resided in front of the church. What do they plan on doing with the buried bodies? Who knows. You can ask, but even the crew have no clue... they're just following orders.
→ Speaking of cemeteries, those stone angels have moved again... they're covering their eyes now, but they're smiling. Some may find this incredibly unnerving, but others will claim that the stone angels in the local cemetery have always had their eyes shut. If you really think stone can mysteriously move into new positions, you must be crazy.

MONDAY, JUNE 4th:
Weather: Cloudy with showers that move in around lunchtime and continue through the evening;52°/37°

EVENTS
→ Every Monday and Thursday throughout the summer, the Main Street Market will be set up on Main Street from 10am to 2pm. Local artists, farmers and business owners will have various tents set up to sell their products.

TUESDAY, JUNE 5th:
Weather: Dark skies and thunderstorms all day. Boo. ;54°/43°

EVENTS
→ It's a dreary day with thunderstorms and torrential downpours. There's no way you can even step outside for a moment without getting drenched. The town experiences a few power outages but thankfully but nothing long term.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6th:
Weather: The rain is gone and the sun peeks out from the clouds on occasion;61°/46°

EVENTS
→ A lovely, quiet day in Point Pleasant.

THURSDAY, JUNE 7th:
Weather: It's a sunny, but pleasantly brisk day;63°/52°

EVENTS
→ Nothing spectacular is happening today but for a tiny, minor thing. The people who returned from the hellish fog dimension are going to be, well, bonded together. Not literally, of course, and nothing like the four dreamers were (and still are). When they're near each other, even in a general vicinity kind of way, they're going to be aware of each other's presence. It's also... oddly comforting. Think of it like a bizarro world pack mentality. This doesn't mean they're all BFFs. In fact, it may annoy quite a few of them on some level, but it's impossible to bury or ignore it.

FRIDAY, JUNE 8th
Weather: Warmer weather is back! A beautiful, clear day;75°/45°

EVENTS
→  It's a beautiful day in Point Pleasant. Nothing unusual happens today... until evening. Everyone seems to be stricken with a bout of insomnia. No over the counter or prescription meds is going to help... if anything, they're just going to make the person kind of loopy, because their brain so desperately wants to rest but their body seems to be on a completely different page. *Nobody* will getting a wink of sleep tonight, so that should be fun! Make the best of it!

SATURDAY, JUNE 9th:
Weather: Partly sunny;73°/48°

EVENTS
→  There may be some cranky people out and about today. If you thought you could take a nap today, you were wrong. That insomnia is lingering in nearly everyone and despite the fact that it's barely lasted a day, there are quite a few people who are already experiencing symptoms of extreme sleep deprivation, including hallucinations, paranoia, and disorientation. This lasts well into the night... there will be no relief in sight.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, January 21st - Saturday, January 27

SUNDAY, JANUARY 21st
Weather: Partly sunny;43°/28°

EVENTS
→  For those in constant close proximity to anyone affected by the fog, they're likely feeling incredibly lethargic, almost zombie-like in how they function if they're able to function at all. Some may be unable to do anything but sleep, and their health isn't looking great. They're getting the brunt of it, but it seems like a lot of people around town are feeling extremely tired. It's like the town has come down with widespread case of chronic fatigue syndrome.

→  Those affected by the fog are realizing now that they feel their best around people. The more people the better. Yes, they notice what's happening to everyone else, healthwise, but that empathy and concern are quickly fading, if it's not completely gone already. Being enveloped in a constant euphoric high is the most natural thing in the world to them. Something is definitely guiding them, assuring them that they deserve this. How they chose to deal with the dreamers is up to them.

MONDAY, JANUARY 22nd:
Weather: Sporadic snow showers. By evening, a light fog begins to cover the ground of the town. It doesn't grow any higher than a foot or so, but it lingers;36°/21°

EVENTS
→ The hospital is getting a lot of admissions of people who seem to be near comatose, though doctors can't seem to find anything physically wrong with them. There are nearly a dozen deaths by the end of the day with nothing to attribute a cause to. It's alarming, but the doctors and nurses still feeling well enough to work have to soldier on, because more people are showing up for help.

→ Those not completely zombie-like aren't quite themselves either. They're becoming aggressive and at times, violent. Calls into the police station skyrocket, which proves to be an issue with some of the deputies also out of commission. Things feel like they're spiraling out of control, and quickly.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 23rd:
Weather: Partly cloudy with a few rain showers. The fog continues, though it doesn't grow, or cause any obvious issues the way it has before.;37°/28°

EVENTS
→ The fog people are able to literally feel themselves feeding off of others now. It's like smoking a drug, only better. No one is off-limits anymore. Not kids, or spouses. The more they feed, the stronger they feel. They know they're preparing this town for something bigger than themselves, and incredible power is promised to them.

→  If someone is not nearly comatose at this point, they're likely to be found either completely apathetic to what is happening, or raging with violence, without any concern for law enforcement... which is fine, as they're not really feeling the need to uphold the law anymore either.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24th:
Weather: Cloudy, gray skies all day. The fog on the ground is getting thicker. A pretty strong wind storm comes through town after 10pm;37°/18°

EVENTS
→ The town feels essentially lawless at this point. No one seems to have the energy or the mind to leave.

→   Around ten o'clock, a strong windstorm takes over Point Pleasant. It knocks out power to the entire town.

→  By midnight, the wind dies down and the power to the town clicks back on.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 25th:
Weather: Sunny;25°/12°

EVENTS
→ It's not too long after 12am this morning that whatever illness had spread through the town begins to lift. People are starting to feel like themselves again. Some are feeling one hundred percent better almost immediately. Others may take a day or two. No one really knows what the hell happened. The cops don't have any explanation either.

→  There are reports that nearly a dozen citizens have gone missing. Namely those who had been injured in the fog awhile back. A lot of people unaffected by the disappearances don't give it much thought. What else is new in Point Pleasant? Given the state of things, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch that they ditched town like rational people would have.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 26th:
Weather: Clear skies;30°/19°

EVENTS
→ A lovely, quiet day in Point Pleasant.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 27th:
Weather: Sunny;50°/22°

EVENTS
→ The sun is out, and it's a bit warmer today. Nothing of note happens. The town is still cleaning up from the mess earlier in the week. But people are feeling pretty good (save for those affected by the loss of those who went missing - notably, the people injured by the fog...). No ghostly encounters. No eerie dark men chasing them down the street... for once, Point Pleasant feels like nothing more than a cozy small town.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, January 14th - Saturday, January 20th

SUNDAY, JANUARY 14th
Weather: Partly sunny before it begins to snow heavily after nightfall;16°/9°

EVENTS
→  Those injured in the fog are feeling pretty good today. There is an unmistakable, almost overabundance of confidence they're experiencing, and this will only continue to build throughout the rest of the week the more time they spend around people. That's not to say they will be in excitable and happy moods all the time, but every emotion they feel they feel it tenfold. Frankly, by the end of the week they're going to start to feel like nothing can go wrong for them. It's a feeling they want to embrace, because who wouldn't want to feel this good in a town this shitty? Those feelings don't fade when they're alone either, the way it had the week before.

However, the people who happen to spend time with the fog victims, or are even in the same vicinity as them for a certain amount of time, will continue to feel lethargic, but also a bit numb emotionally. It's not a feeling that fades either. These people don't bounce back from the low feelings, even after the fog victims are gone. (The dreamers being the only exclusion to this). The more they're around the fog victims, the worse it gets.

MONDAY, JANUARY 15th:
Weather: Snow showers all day;14°/3°

EVENTS
→ Due to the bitter cold and amount of snow on the ground by morning, today is called a snow day for all Point Pleasant schools.
→ Other than the abundance of snow on the ground, and snow trucks working overtime to clear the roads, the day is fairly uneventful.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 16th:
Weather: The snow tapers off off around sunrise, leaving the rest of the day sunny;25°/12°

EVENTS
→ The chain keeping the Noble Mausoleum locked has gone missing, leaving the door slightly open. That should probably be replaced, and soon. Also, all of the angels have returned to their original positions, so there's that.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 17th:
Weather: Snow throughout the entire day and night;25°/19°

EVENTS
→  Today the witches in Point Pleasant will sense a shift in the air around town. There is something curious about it, something tinged with darkness, more so than usual anyway. It's not strong enough to be overly alarming, but it may definitely trigger the urge to put stronger protective wards around their homes.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 18th:
Weather: Sunny and clear skies;28°/21°

EVENTS
→ A quiet, sunny day, though it's still quite cold.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 19th:
Weather: Windy and cloudy for most of the day with small snippets of sun;30°/18°

EVENTS
→ Today is The Empty Orchestra Karaoke Contest! Come and be prepared to sing your favorite karaoke songs in this four-round tournament. Only the six best will be voted through to the next round until the singers are pared down to four, and then the final two. The winner will walk away with five hundred dollars(!) in cash and free drinks at the bar for a full year (non-alcoholic for those under 21). 17 and over only.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 20th:
Weather: Partly sunny;43°/39°

EVENTS
→ Tonight is the Winter In Paris winter formal at the high school from 6pm-9:30pm.
→  For the adults, tonight is also the Overlook Country Club Casino Night from 6pm-10pm. Members' ticket price is $50, for non-members $75. There will be tables set up for Blackjack, Poker, Roulette and Craps. Along with an open bar, there will also be a DJ, dance floor, hors d'oeuvre and prizes for winners. All profits will be donated to Mercy Hospital. 18 and over only.
→  Late tonight, the fog victims in town will get the same intense feeling of someone being after them that they did the week before. Someone out there wants to hurt them, take away every good feeling they've been having this week. Except for this time, they seem to know exactly who those people are, regardless of whether or not they've ever met the dreamers personally or not.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, January 7th - Saturday, January 13th

SUNDAY, JANUARY 7th
Weather: Sunny;34°/19°

EVENTS
→ There is no change to the stone angels in the cemetery, although the feelings of euphoria have faded.

→ There is another eviscerated deer carcass on the road leading into town, but no sign of what kind of wild animal might have killed it.

MONDAY, JANUARY 8th:
Weather: Strong winds and snow around noon, lasting well into the night;22°/14°

EVENTS
→ It's back to school for the students of Point Pleasant. The high school students will be greeted with posters all over the school announcing the Winter Formal, which will take place on January 20th. The theme will be 'Winter In Paris'. The school play, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' also opens this coming Friday night!

→  This is as normal of a day as anyone could hope for.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 9th:
Weather: Partly cloudy, but it's still snowing;40°/16°

EVENTS
→ Those injured in the fog feel a bit lethargic when they wake up today. They may be cranky, and they may be just fine attitude-wise, but they're incredibly tired and low energy... at least until they're around other people. Being around other people make them feel... great, actually. Like an injection of dopamine without having to exercise. The longer they're around certain people, the better they feel - productive, happy and maybe an odd, mild sense of invincibility.

Unfortunately, the people they're spending time with will find it hard to keep up with their energetic enthusiasm - in fact, those *people will start to feel lethargic and exhausted themselves until all they want to do is pass out or sleep. This feeling will mostly go away when they finally part ways, although a small sense of lethargy remains.

  * The dreamers are completely immune to this. Should a dreamer be around any of those injured in the fog, nothing changes in either's mood, though the dreamer may pick up on an "odd" sort of vibe from the fog person, something they can't really explain and may just dismiss as nothing.

This behavior will continue on and off throughout the rest of the week for those injured in the fog.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10th:
Weather: Snow tapers off around six o'clock in the morning and the skies remain gray and cloudy the rest of the day;31°/10°

EVENTS
→ A quiet day in Point Pleasant.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 11th:
Weather: Snow showers all day;21°/7°

EVENTS
→ Another quiet day in town. The snow is so beautiful!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 12th:
Weather: Clear and sunny skies, but it's not warm enough to melt any of the snow just yet;18°/7°

EVENTS
→ Tonight is the opening night of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at the high school at 7pm. Shows will also be available on Saturday at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults!

→ The dreamers probably thought their shared dreams were more or less over - but that's not the case, sadly. Tonight things are a little different than their other dreams. For one, they remain in Point Pleasant, rather than on the road leading out of town. Only this Point Pleasant - Main Street to be exact - doesn't look like the town they know. This town is cold and muted with dark colors, covered in filth and pulsing membrane all over the buildings and cars. It smells damp, and stale, and seems like it's completely devoid of human life - those pulsing veins and membrane certainly seem like they could be alive. Honestly, the scene is like something you might see in a sci-fi - or horror - movie. It's also eerily quiet, but thankfully in this dream, the four can move and speak to one another.

They're not there for very long before a thick fog starts to roll down Main Street in their direction. The fog will be familiar to them, including the large dark shadow that is coming with it, except this time there are smaller, dark shapes that appear to be people. This seems to trigger the dreamers' "abilities", except that Nic's magic and Neil's lightning affinity are uncontrollable, manifesting in ways that create a somewhat chaotic situation. Jules will help them wake up from their "dream" with her own ability, though not before Carson unexpectedly begins to shift into a werewolf.

The dreamers will wake up at the same time, and they'll be able to smell the stale stench of the town in their dream, and their bodies will feel sore and bruised. Neil may find parts of his room or bed are singed from a fire that's gone out - Nic's bed or floor may be covered in water - Jules's hands will be blistered and red and Carson... he's going to wake up feeling a bit animalistic and incredibly hungry for meat, preferably human... that urge should pass fairly quickly... hopefully.

... funnily enough those injured in the fog will all wake up at the exact same time as the dreamers. They won't feel bruised, or smell anything odd, but they'll have the deep-seated knowledge that someone out there is a danger to them.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 13th:
Weather: Oh look, it's snowing again;13°/-2°

EVENTS
→ After dark there are a few sightings of an oddly tall, skinny man roaming around town, wearing a pinstriped suit and a bowler hat. No one can see his face under his hat but for his bright, toothy smile. You might see him on the street smiling at you, or maybe in your backyard. If you call the police or go outside to investigate, he'll be gone (thankfully). He also makes a few very unwanted appearances in the yards of the people in town who have encountered him in the past. Injuries that they may have received during those encounters will start to ache something fierce until the Dark Man is gone.

→  Close to nine o'clock at night, anyone who has had scary or strange experiences in town (so, everyone?) will feel insanely cold. The memory of their experience, no matter how mild, will be as clear in their head as if it happened that morning. For most people, they'll probably remain shaken and uneasy for a while, because it almost feels like an ominous warning. Other people, depending on who they are, may dismiss it as a bad memory and go about their evening choosing to ignore it completely, because denial is a beautiful thing.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, December 31st - Saturday, January 6th

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31st
Weather: No fog, no snow, no ice, just sunshine and clear skies into the evening; 22°/8°

EVENTS
→ It's New Year's Eve! Various bars and restaurants are staying open past midnight to help residents of Point Pleasant to ring in the New Year. The marina will be decked out in soft lights and have several warm open tents with cash bars to buy celebratory champagne, wine, and beer. There will also be some food vendors and a live band to help countdown to 2018. At midnight there will be fireworks to enjoy as well. Why not forget about the traumatic fog and come celebrate the end of a shitty year with your neighbors. 2018 can only be better, right?

MONDAY, JANUARY 1st:
Weather: Sunshine and blue skies, but holy hell, it's cold; 9°/-6°

EVENTS
→ Happy New Year's!

→ It's the full moon tonight. Hopefully it will be way too cold for anyone to be out wandering around past nightfall. Just to be safe, there will be a noticeable police presence after dark as they patrol town.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 2nd:
Weather: Another clear day, but nowhere near warm enough to melt any of the snow; 12°/-9°

EVENTS
→ With the new year and full moon out of the way, the town mercifully quiets down.

→ Well, almost. The dreamers might have thought their bizarre dreams were over, but tonight each one of them will dream about someone in town - notably, someone who was injured by a fog creature and survived.

There's no real rhyme or reason to the dream. In fact, it might even be mundane. The dreamers will get a glimpse into this person's life, specifically witnessing something that person did during the day. Grocery shopping, putting gas in their car, maybe something a bit more intimate. In any case, the dreamer will feel like they're watching this person through a lens, spying in on someone else's personal life. It doesn't make any real sense... until the subject of their dream looks directly at them; only then will dreamer will see the color of their irises happen to be blood red. This is when they'll wake up, or simply forget the remainder of their dream if they wake up later.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3rd:
Weather: Some light showers in the morning creating some icy roads, which are salted by noon. Be safe out there; 27°/9°

EVENTS
→ Those injured by the fog creatures are feeling overly agitated today when they wake up with bouts of paranoia and anger. They don't have any logical explanation as to why, but it's probably best to just leave them be for a while.

→ Due to the fog putting a damper on things, the ice skating rink at the harbor will remain open through today. It officially closes until next Christmas at 10pm tonight.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 4th:
Weather: Slightly warmer today, but not by much. Gray skies, but no snow; 30°/23°

EVENTS
→ A quiet day. Yay.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 5th:
Weather: Clear skies all day;21°/11°

EVENTS
→ Another quiet day in Point Pleasant, but for the damned ice cream truck roaming the streets at all hours of the day and night. Has anyone ever actually seen the truck stop? Hmm.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 6th:
Weather: Some snow throughout the day, but nothing too hazardous. It's just really cold again;13°/-2°

EVENTS
→ The stone angels in the cemetery no longer bow their heads in prayer. Now they're all looking up to the sky, arms spread as to give their Maker thanks. Oh, and they're smiling. Which is kind of creepy. Being in the cemetery today doesn't feel ominous or suffocating. In fact, it's almost euphoric! It almost makes you want to stay all day in the bitter cold, just to feel this good.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, December 24th - Saturday, December 30th

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 24th
Weather: A steady snowfall throughout the day; 22°/8°

EVENTS
→ Merry Christmas Eve!

→ The investigation into the St. Dismas church burning is ongoing. Church goers will have to find somewhere else to have their Christmas Eve mass...and with Father Dean missing, they'll need another man of God, if they can find one.

→ Many shops on Main Street are having last minute shopping sales for all the procrastinators.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 25th:
Weather: Snow, snow, snow! The roads are getting slick so if you're traveling today, be safe; 24°/6°

EVENTS
→ Merry Christmas! It's a peaceful, pretty day in Point Pleasant. Enjoy it while you can.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 26th:
Weather: The snow has stopped, but there's several inches to be removed from driveways and sidewalks. A clear day, at least; 28°/12°

EVENTS
→ After Christmas sales galore! Get out there and spend your Christmas money or gift cards. The ice skating rink is allowing free skating from 1pm to 5pm. → There are a few more missing persons reports filed with the PPPD. Banker Brandon Masters, 38, who was last seen at Cherries Thursday morning December 21st and Derek Jones, 24, a gas station attendant. He was seen leaving his shift after midnight Friday December 22nd.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 27th:
Weather: It's getting colder and there is a strong, bitter wind coming off the ocean;16°/2°

EVENTS
→ Around 4:00pm a thick fog begins to roll into Point Pleasant from over the ocean. It covers the Overlook Estates first before blanketing the entire town. This fog is unlike anything people in town have ever seen. Visibility is impossible. Anyone driving will likely have to stop and pull over. Anyone out walking will find it extremely difficult to find their way home. What's worse, the fog seems to be messing with electronics, including phones, making it difficult for anyone stranded to find a good signal. It's possible you may get a bar or two, but unlikely. Thinking you could take to the internet and get some help? Nah. That's down too, believe it or not. Nothing but 'timeout' errors.

Essentially, wherever you are when the fog settles in, you're stuck unless you want to risk getting from Point A to Point B. But be mindful of the weather, getting stuck outside in the bitter elements could mean frostbite or death. The wise thing to do would be to stay put where you are, at least until the fog lessens.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 28th:
Weather: Fog. Cold.; 12°/-2°

EVENTS
→ The fog hasn't improved. Visibility is still nil. Electronics are still on the fritz, although the electricity is still on in town, so that's something. The downside is that people are starting to notice there seems to be things... moving... in the fog, and this starts well before six o'clock in the morning. Anyone looking outside can't quite tell what they could be, but they get glimpses of dark shadows, long arms... claws.. are those scales? Who knows. Surely they must just be animals, right? That's what logic says, even if the shadows appear too large to be anything living in Point Pleasant.

You could probably go outside to investigate, but it's unlikely you'll return. Whatever is out there has pretty large, sharp teeth, and they're pretty hungry. Death is not a certainty if anyone encounters these creatures, but having a run in with their claws is inevitable if they sense you out in the fog. Anyone who is unfortunate enough to get gouged or even scratched by these creatures before getting back inside or to safety will experience an incredibly painful wound. Trying to clean it will only make it worse, but wrapping it up tight will ease the discomfort until a medical professional can look at it, if that's the route you want to take. (Mod note: being wounded by one of the creatures will have lasting effects both physically and mentally on your character.)

Maybe it's time to lock the doors and close the curtains. You may not be able to see those things clearly, but they can see you.

→ The power in Point Pleasant flickers off around 10pm tonight. Hopefully people have wood burning fireplaces, heavy blankets and candles. Or maybe being in the dark won't be too bad, because several people can hear slithering and knocking against their walls, windows and doors. (MOD NOTE: It's up to you how much damage occurs, if any.) Enjoy a traumatizing, very cold evening. Hopefully you have company.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 29th:
Weather: Around 4 o'clock in the morning the fog begins to dissipate. It doesn't disappear completely, but visibility improves significantly; 21°/11°

EVENTS
→ The power is restored around the same time the fog begins to clear.

→ Whatever was in the fog seems to be gone. There is significant damage to several homes, cars and buildings in town. Some people arrive at the hospital with various injuries from accidents when the fog rolled in, and a few show up with wounds from the creatures needing medical attention.

Throughout the day it's becoming clear that there are several people missing in town... but there are plenty of blood patches and puddles in homes, on porches... in the snow. A few bodies are found in the street, or in backyards, none of which are fully intact. Everyone begins theorizing on what happened... after fog related car accidents, and people stuck in the elements, animal attacks seem the most likely. That's it. Animal attacks. The PPPD and the hospital staff have a long weekend ahead of them, but the local funeral home is raking in quite a bit of business this upcoming week! Silver linings?

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 30th:
Weather: Fog lingers but finally disappears around ten o'clock in the morning and... oh my gosh, is that the sun? What a bright, beautiful day!; 29°/13°

EVENTS
→ Clean up continues throughout town, as well as investigations into the fog-related deaths. Insurance reps are out in full force today to check on damage to various homes and businesses. No one can quite explain the long, nail like scratches seen in side paneling and even brick walls. How bizarre.

→ Anyone unlucky enough to get scratched or wounded by the fog creatures may find themselves feeling quite unlike themselves today. They wake up with a deep yearning for something they can't quite describe. There's an insatiable hunger that food doesn't seem to help. Some of them may become a bit manic in their behavior, and some quite aggressive with things and people around them. They may try to ease the burden with exercise, fighting, food or even sex but it's only a temporary relief. By nightfall they've exhausted themselves and will have some of the best sleep of their lives. No one will be able to rouse them until morning, but at least they're still breathing!

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, December 17th - Saturday, December 23rd

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17th
Weather: Blustery and cold with snow flurries; 25°/6°

EVENTS
→ An extremely quiet day in Point Pleasant, which is nothing unusual, but those residents who aren't entirely human might feel a sense of foreboding, though they might not be able to pinpoint why. Some may feel it more intensely than others.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 18th:
Weather: Windy, and a peek of sunshine through the clouds every now and then; 27°/9°

EVENTS
→ Nothing overly strange happens today... except the stone angels in the cemetery have all changed positions, their faces all pointed down towards the ground, their hands steepled in prayer. It may not be noticeable to anyone who doesn't frequent the cemetery or pay much attention to the statues themselves. But what is noticeable is how any visitor starts to feel once they're near one of the statues. Some may experience the onslaught of a sudden migraine, intense chest pain or uncontrollable shivers and severe nausea. At least until they've left the area. They'll feel better, but a sickly sort of feeling remains for a day or two. The statues remain in their new position indefinitely.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 19th:
Weather: A slightly warmer day today, but not by much. The snow seems to have tapered off for a while, but it's still a bit blustery and unpleasant; 43°/21°

EVENTS
→ An ice skating rink line with Christmas lights is set up near Point Pleasant Harbor and Pier, in a section of land near the boardwalk. Skating is free, but $3 to rent ice skates. There are a few vendors as well, selling hot chocolate, peanuts and soft pretzels. Weather permitting, the ice skating rink will be open through the New Year from 10am to Midnight except for Christmas Day and New Year's Eve when it closes at 10pm.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 20th:
Weather: Gray skies, but not much else, not even so much as a breeze in the air;39°/25°

EVENTS
→ Even through the bad weather, renovations continue on the old Zinneman house on Ludlow. Strangely enough, the house only seems to be worked on during the night, with the crews nowhere to be seen for most of the daytime. The Zinneman house doesn't look brand new by any means, but it certainly looks safer and more livable, at least on the outside.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 21st:
Weather: Snow, snow, snow all day long; 25°/16°

EVENTS
→ Another quiet day.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22nd:
Weather: Cold! Some softer flurries of snow to add to the inches already on the ground; 19°/09°

EVENTS
→ Winter break! It's the last day of school for Point Pleasant students until January 8th of 2018.

→ The Orion is playing A Christmas Story tonight at 7pm, followed by National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation at 10pm.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 23rd:
Weather: It snows all day, becoming something close to blizzard like conditions by midnight, making traveling anywhere in town near impossible; 32°/19°

EVENTS
→ Despite the bad weather, a fire breaks out in St. Dismas Church around the time the snow begins to fall more heavily. The weather makes it difficult to emergency responders to get to the church, and by the time they are able to put the fire out, over half of the building has been gutted by flames. Thankfully Father Dean is not inside, but PPPD are unable to find him at home either.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, December 10th - Saturday, December 16th

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10th
Weather: Gray skies and rain for most of the day; 34°/16°

EVENTS
→ A dreary, boring day. Yay.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 11th:
Weather: Rain continues through noon but soon tapers off, leaving a muddy, cold mess outside; 32°/14°

EVENTS
→ Today is the last day the Linoge Lighthouse will be open. At 3pm, it will close for the season until May of the next year. Any future trespassers will be subject to prosecution.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12th:
Weather: Partly cloudy but very little sunshine; 34°/12°

EVENTS
→ The Chamberlain Wolves basketball team plays the Wells Warriors as the visiting team tonight.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13th:
Weather: It's pretty cold today and the wind chill coming off of the water doesn't help matters. A light snow begins after 6pm and gather steam throughout the night; 25°/10°

EVENTS
→ Despite the weather, construction crews are seen outside of the old Zinneman house on Ludlow Lane and it appears as though some renovations have begun on the decrepit house.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14th:
Weather: Snow, snow, snow all day long; 18°/07°

EVENTS
→ It's the first real snow fall of winter and it appears to be making a lot of people very irritable and short tempered. There is an influx of road rage incidents and people getting into fights at various places throughout town, leading to a few hospitalizations. It doesn't seem to be as bad or violent as when the 'poisonous' fog influenced residents, but it's unnerving, especially to those behaving uncharacteristically. People are hoping this is not a sign of things to come in the following months.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15th:
Weather: Freaking cold with some snow flurries today. The sun has not been seen all week. Bummer; 19°/07°

EVENTS
→ No school for Chamberlain High School students thanks to a Teacher Work Day.

→ Tonight is the Black and Red Holiday Gala at The Overlook Country Club. This is dinner and dance (and fundraiser) is open to all adults (over 21) in Point Pleasant, with a silent auction to benefit families and children in need this holiday season. Obviously the theme is black and red and formal attire is required.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16th:
Weather: A somewhat clear day but the snow starts to fall heavily around 10pm; 23°/12°

EVENTS
→ The weather is not slowing down Mr. Ice Cream Man, whoever he is and the ice cream truck continues to make its rounds in town. Nobody is really in the mood for ice cream, are they? Even if they are, he's not going to stop for you anyway.

→ There is a party at Jules Cooper's house tonight.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, December 3rd- Saturday, December 9th

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3rd
Weather: Some overcast today with very little sun, but a very clear night to see the full moon bright in the sky above; 39°/34°

EVENTS
→ Nothing overly notable except that it's the full moon tonight. Not only that, but it's 2017's only full supermoon. Now science says that the full moon holds no sway over human behavior, but Point Pleasant has always been the exception to the rule. When the supermoon rises, some people might be feeling a bit out of sorts, maybe a bit impulsive, easily agitated, amorous or restless. Werewolf transformations might be a bit more painful than usual, and the wolves themselves a touch more predatory. Hopefully everyone has taken the proper precautions and there are no causalities to be found in the morning.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 4th:
Weather: An unseasonably warm day in Point Pleasant. What's up with that?; 69°/62°

EVENTS
→ Opening night for the high school's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream is set for Friday, January 12th with shows Friday night at 6:30pm, Saturday at 7:00pm and Sunday at 2pm. Make sure you buy your tickets in advance and help Chamberlain's theater group!

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 5th:
Weather: Oh good, it's chilly again. It's not too bad, but pretty overcast with some thunder in the distance, though no rain; 43°/41°

EVENTS
→ For anyone who ventures into the woods behind Seaview for a hike or a jog, there are the sounds of a small party near Cooperdale Tunnel at all hours of the day. Laughter, music, and after the sun sets, the sight of flashlights in the dark through the trees. It certainly seems like the group is having a good time. But upon further inspection, there is absolutely nothing to be found at the mouth of the tunnel. The laughter and music fades, the lights are gone. No sign of a party at all.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 6th:
Weather: Sunny; 39°/31°

EVENTS
→ The Chamberlain Wolves will play tonight at 7pm at home against the Scarborough Bulldogs.

→ A little after midnight, there seems to be a domestic incident happening at the old Rogan house (of which no one has met the new tenants of yet). There have been plenty of whispered rumors going around town about the house, and who might be living there now. People are starting to wonder why no one is ever home when they come by, and why no one has been seen coming and going, despite the fact that the station wagon has moved position in the driveway often. There's probably a rational explanation for everything, and the new tenants might be incredibly private people. Still, the Rogan home is quickly becoming as infamous as the Zinneman house on Ludlow.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7th:
Weather: Partly cloudy; 41°/39°

EVENTS
→ It's a dreary sort of day but a quiet one, at least.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8th:
Weather: Gray skies with no sunshine in sight; 36°/27°

EVENTS
→ The Pleasant Harbor and Pier is showcasing the Festival of Gingerbread Houses all weekend! Stop by to see these amazing gingerbread displays from all over Maine and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies. You'll also have a fantastic view of the pierbelow and its impressive holiday lights.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9th:
Weather: Light snow today, but nothing that sticks beyond a dusting on the ground; 36°/27°

EVENTS
→ More sightings occur of the quaint little ice cream truck driving around town. No, he doesn't stop for you today either, but it's snowing, so who really wants to chase down a truck for ice cream with today's weather?

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, November 26th - Saturday, December 2nd

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26th:
Weather: Chilly with a bit of frost on the ground in the morning. A light dusting of snow falls throughout the day, but nothing really sticks. ;32°/26°

EVENTS
→ About six headstones in the cemetery are vandalized overnight. At least that seems to be the easiest explanation for what has happened. The headstones appear to have been knocked into with enough force to blast apart a lot of the stone itself, some shattered completely. It's hard to imagine how one or two people managed this without being seen or heard - especially by the caretaker - but it is what it is. Oddly enough, the headstones destroyed all belonged to deceased members of those with magic in their blood...mainly descendants of the Point Pleasant Six. Not that anyone but those "in the know" would be aware of the connection. But what a mess to clean up.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27th:
Weather: No snow, no rain, but gray skies. The sun seems to have taken a long vacation;37°/24°

EVENTS
→ Beyond the depressing weather, it's a pretty quiet day today in Point Pleasant.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28th:
Weather: More gray skies with a short, light rain shower around lunchtime;36°/24°

EVENTS
→ It's been awhile, hasn't it? But those lucky, light sleepers of Seaview will be woken around 2am by the sound of a train passing through the Cooperdale Tunnel. At least it sounds like a train, and it doesn't last more than a few minutes, but it's loud and jarring. It could just be their imagination..lack of sleep..something they ate. That's definitely more likely.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 29th:
Weather: Gray skies. Sigh;41°/28°

EVENTS
→ The Chamberlain Wolves basketball season starts tonight with a game at home against the Bangor Rams! The game starts at 7pm.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30th:
Weather: The sun peeks out this morning, but is swallowed whole by rain clouds around noon. Rain will fall through the evening and into the next morning;40°/29°

EVENTS
→A quiet day today except there's an ice cream truck making its way around town. It's your typical white ice cream truck playing Christmas carols through old speakers, and though the windows aren't tinted or anything, it's difficult to see the driver, even if you try. Oddly enough, he never stops, not even for kids who might run after him in the rain to buy some ice cream.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1st:
Weather: A tad bit warmer today than the rest of the week, unfortunately it's raining all day long; 45°/39°

EVENTS
→ The Overlook Country Club has announced that the Black and Red Holiday Gala will take place on Friday, December 15th. Tickets are $45 a person, or $75 per couple. This is a holiday occasion open to the adults (over 21) in Point Pleasant, with a silent auction to benefit families and children in need this holiday season. Obviously the theme is black and red and formal attire is required.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2nd:
Weather: No rain, but gray skies with a nip in the air. At least it's not snowing yet; 36°/25°

EVENTS
→ The Chamberlain Wolves basketball team plays today at home at 5pm against the Ellsworth Eagles.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, November 19th- Saturday, November 25th

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19th:
Weather:; Clear skies, but a chilly day with a subtle, bitter breeze; 37°/21°

EVENTS
→It's a very strange day in Point Pleasant (what else is new?). Thanks to a love spell gone horribly wrong, plenty of residents in town are, unfortunately, affected. They will wake up and find themselves unable to think of anything but the object of their desire, whether it be a significant other, a crush, or even someone in town they might have had a passing attraction to. Their thoughts will consume them, driven by unbridled lust and affection. The attraction becomes near obsessive, depending on how deeply the magic has affected each individual. They may low key stalk their "crush", declare their love in extravagant ways, or decide they'll stop at nothing until they get what, and who, they want. Forever. The magic will last throughout the day and well into the evening until about 3:00am on Monday morning when the love spell lifts and everyone is left with the aftermath of their behavior. Nope, no memory wipes this time.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20th:
Weather: Gray skies with a chilly breeze;37°/24°

EVENTS
→It's a quiet day in Point Pleasant, except for those dealing with the aftermath of the love spell from the day before. People are gearing up for Thanksgiving and Black Friday!

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 21st:
Weather: Partly cloudy with the sun peeking out every now and then; 37°/23°

EVENTS
→ A blissfully quiet, but cold day in Point Pleasant.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd:
Weather: There is a very brief rain shower in the morning, but the skies dry up and remain gray for the rest of the day; 34°/21°

EVENTS
→ There are some more dead animal carcasses found towards the edge of Blackwater Woods today and for the rest of the week. There's been some discussion of a potential bear or wolf, but most residents know better. Some people are starting to talk about going into the woods to try and hunt whatever is slaughtering the wildlife, but nothing definitive is decided.

→ Students have an early dismissal time of 1:00pm for the holiday weekend.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23rd:
Weather: It's a chilly day with a bit of a sharp nip in the air, but it's a sunny day; 37°/20°

EVENTS
→ Happy Thanksgiving! Most retail shops and businesses in Point Pleasant are closed today, with a select few opening late in the evening to kick off Black Friday and the holiday season.

→All schools are closed today.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24th:
Weather: More gray, cloudy skies with a drastic dip in temperatures; 31°/21°

EVENTS
→ Schools remain closed today for the holiday.

→ Black Friday! Let the shopping chaos commence.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25th:
Weather: A light dusting of snow; 29°/18°

EVENTS
→Enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride through the heart of Point Pleasant starting today through most of December, hosted by the Point Pleasant Museum and D'Onofrio Management.

→Come out and see the extravagant holiday lights and decorations that cover the pier and marina. Wreaths and various decorations are also found around town, most notably through Main Street.

→ The Orion will be playing the classic The Wizard of Oz tonight at 7pm and 10pm.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, November 12th- Saturday, November 18th

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12th:
Weather:The rain eases up by mid-morning but it's a cold, dreary day and the leaves are falling off the trees faster than one might have hoped; 39°/19°

EVENTS
→ With the rain finally stopped, damage from flooding throughout town can finally be accessed. A police road block is set up in front of Sweetbriar Bridge due to the dangerous, excessive flooding of the creek below in an effort to keep residents away.

→ A few Missing posters are taped various buildings around town for Thomas Hall, a man who supposedly went missing the night of the full moon. The PPPD have been unable to find any evidence of foul play, but his family insists Hall wouldn't have left town without alerting them of his plans.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 13th:
Weather: Sunny;41°/28°

EVENTS
→ Posters for the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance at Chamberlain High go up today! The informal dance, in which the female students invite a boy (or girl) of their choice, will be held Saturday night in the high school gym. Tickets are only $10 a couple.

→ A ghostly figure of a young woman in old fashioned clothing is seen walking through the cemetery at night, though the apparition could have just been a trick of the light, or the result of too much to drink, or maybe something they ate. In any case, whoever happens to see her is left feeling a bit overheated and sweaty, like they've been standing far too close to an intense fire.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14th:
Weather: Partly sunny with a bit of a bite in the air; 40°/33°

EVENTS
→ Two deer carcasses are found on the side of the road near Blackwater Woods as you drive into Point Pleasant. The animals are mutilated with most of the meat missing. There are several more scattered on the ground leading up and into the woods, and it's not a pretty sight. Obviously it's likely a black bear roaming around, yes? But those who have lived in Point Pleasant long enough know that this seems to be a yearly occurrence when the weather begins to turn colder. Overly violent animals deaths are generally a sign that hiking through Blackwater Woods is most definitely finished for the year if you don't want to become another 'missing person' statistic in town. Someone even takes a black Sharpie marker to the No Hiking After Dark signs posted at the beginning of the trails to color over After Dark leaving the sign to simply say No Hiking. It's worth a try, right?

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15th:
Weather: Another chilly day, but the sun is shining without a cloud in the sky; 38°/29°

EVENTS
→ It's a lovely day in Point Pleasant. There's just something about it... the sun is shining, the gorgeous autumn leaves are falling and there is a crisp, comforting feeling of autumn in the air. A lot of people are happy. Most people, actually, which is a bit strange. Or maybe it isn't. What is strange is that throughout the day, people start to take their good moods to the extreme and indulge in some impulsive, selfish behavior. It could be anything. Buying a round of drinks for everyone at the bar, donating a chunk of their savings to charity, declaring their love for that person who doesn't even know they exist, anonymous sex, shoplifting, burglary, murder! Who knows! The world is their oyster and they can do whatever the hell they want!

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16th:
Weather: Windy and the breeze coming off the water near the marina is biting, but that sunshine from the day before has slipped away, leaving it a cloudy, gray day; 47°/30°

EVENTS
→ A quiet day in Point Pleasant. Yay.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17th:
Weather: Partly cloudy; 44°/28°

EVENTS
→ It's not even Thanksgiving yet! It doesn't matter. The 15th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Marina is tonight with festivities starting at 5:30pm and the lighting commencing at 7:30pm. There will be professional musicians and carolers, along with free hot cocoa and kettle corn with several booths of holiday crafts. Come celebrate Point Pleasant's holiday kick off!

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18th:
Weather: The sun is shining today, but as usual, with a chilly breeze; 45°/24°

EVENTS
→ Today is the annual Early Bird Pajama Sale! For early rises, there are incredible deals and sales at every retail shop along Main Street and the surrounding area until 10:00am, and those who shop in their pajamas will get even better discounts.

→ The Sadie Hawkins Dance is held tonight in the gym of Chamberlain High School from 6pm to 9pm. The gym is decorated with balloons and streamers in the school colors, with a "refreshment table" complete with a large bowl of punch, bottles of water and various cookies and brownies. Not as fancy as a formal dance, but it'll do.

Around 7:00pm, the punch bowl is 'spiked' with an unknown substance. Anyone who drinks from the punch bowl after 7:00pm will begin to experience bouts of euphoria and adoration towards the world and those around them. The feelings last for quite some time, but there's also a downside to the good feelings. There's also honesty. Unbridled, brutal honesty. Those affected by the spiked punch bowl find they cannot tell a lie... in fact, it seems like a great idea to just say whatever they're thinking, to whoever is around. But they say it all with love of course, because they're feeling so good. Bless their hearts.

Oh! And any teenage couple who comes by Moxie's after the dance will get a free milkshake.

→ The Orion will be playing the classic Ghostbusters tonight at 7pm and 10pm.

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, November 5th- Saturday, November 11th

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5th:
Weather: Mostly cloudy until about 6pm, when a light rain begins and lasts through the night; 58°/36°

EVENTS
→ A breezy, quiet day (for most) in town.

→ News of Sadie Gaines's death begins to spread around town between those who knew her. The police aren't releasing a cause of death, or any details at the moment, but the gossip mill runs strong and people seem to at least know that it was quite gruesome.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6th:
Weather: Foggy through the morning. Another light rain begins around noon and lasts until evening when another light fog settles in; 60°/42°

EVENTS
→ Posters start going up around Chamberlain High School announcing that auditions for the fall play, A Midsummer Night's Dream will be held on Friday, November 10th after school. Anyone who wishes to audition must have a short monologue prepared from any play of their choice.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7th:
Weather: Rain, rain, rain; 48°/33°

EVENTS
16 Bit Bar & Arcade opens today. Come fight off the impending winter blues with some old school arcade games and an extensive beer selection!

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8th:
Weather: Gray skies with scattered showers. Colder weather is here to stay it seems...; 42°/27°

EVENTS
→ Another quiet day... except for the rain, of course.

→ A school memorial for History teacher, Sadie Gaines, is held in Chamberlain High School for students and faculty in the gymnasium after sixth period.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9th:
Weather: More gray skies and scattered showers on and off. It's pretty dreary out.; 45°/21°

EVENTS
→ Nothing of note happens today, although Sadie Gaines's funeral will be held at St. Dismas with viewing hours from 2-4pm and the funeral beginning at 5pm. The weather makes for a pretty somber mood, doesn't it?

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10th:
Weather: It's a gray day until about seven o'clock at night, when a rather fierce thunderstorm, complete with dangerous lightning and wind, rolls into town and lasts until about three o'clock Saturday morning; 50°/22°

EVENTS
→ A few homes experience some power outages here and there, but thankfully the town doesn't experience any widespread outages. A lot of roads begin to experience some flooding due to the downpour, so through social media, the PPPD advises people to stay indoors if possible.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11th:
Weather: The thunderstorm eases but it continues to rain all day and into the night. At least it's not snow, right?; 35°/21°

EVENTS
→ A lot of homes are still dealing with flooded roads (and basements, if they're really unlucky). Be safe out there, Point Pleasant.

→ The Orion is closed today due to flooding of their parking lot and the roads around it. They hope to open Sunday, November 12th!

TIME UPDATE

Sunday, October 29th - Saturday, November 4th

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29th:
Weather: A sunny, clear day with a bit of a breeze; 58°/42°

EVENTS
→ A quiet, beautiful day in town.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 30th:
Weather: Another beautiful, sunny day; 60°/53°

EVENTS
→ Spooktacular is having an end of 'season' sale! Everything in store is 75% off. If you haven't gotten your costume yet, come around and take a look. There's still plenty of awesome costumes left, but time is running out!

→ A small volunteer group of four people head out to Cooperdale Tunnel in the morning to paint over the graffiti and remove the hook that had been placed there in 'poor taste'. They finish up around noon with no incident. The tunnel doesn't exactly look 'good as new', but the graffiti is gone, at least.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 31st:
Weather: A bit of rain in the morning, but the skies clear up by lunch time and it's a breezy, cloudy day; 59°/46°

EVENTS
→ What a lovely night for Halloween! Along with the usual trick or treating going on in the neighborhoods, Halloween Fest 2017 has also taken over Main Street! Several blocks are closed to traffic, and most of the merchant shops are open for trick or treaters of *any* age, as long as you show up in costume! There are dozens of booths set up along the street where you can buy a Halloween themed drink (only those with proper wristbands will be served the adult beverages), bob for apples, buy popcorn balls, paint pumpkins and more! Enjoy face painting, scary hair styles, puppet shows and a photo booth to commemorate the festive night.

→ For the 21+ crowd who wants to actively avoid the young-uns, Dragonfly is hosting their own Halloween party. Costumes are encouraged, and there will be plenty of Halloween themed drink specials.

→ Around 9:00pm, the festivities all over town take a strange turn. Anyone who happened to buy their costumes from Spooktacular (and is wearing it tonight) will find themselves transformed... into their costume. A pirate will believe he's actually a swashbuckler searching for treasure. Spider-man may actually believe he can scale buildings and fight crime. A werewolf will be on the prowl for human flesh. Things get a bit dicey as plenty of residents begin to act strangely and run amok. There is an influx of calls to the PPPD who, once again, find themselves woefully understaffed for such chaos.

If anyone is alert or intelligent enough to realize Spooktacular is the common denominator, congratulations! Unfortunately, the shop itself is completely empty and deserted by this time. It was like it never existed at all. Weird. Things return to normal as soon as the clock hits midnight, leaving a bunch of confused, upset and potentially injured (or worse) townsfolk. What could possibly be the explanation for this?

Birthdays: Reagan Kelly
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1st:
Weather: A drastic dip in temperature, a bit unusual for this time of year in Point Pleasant, and there is a soft, but consistent snow fall from morning until well past sunset. Thankfully there is not much accumulation and most of the snow has melted by Thursday morning; 31°/23°

EVENTS
→ Everyone is still is reeling from the events of Halloween night, with some massive clean up happening around town. The PPPD are still trying to figure out what the hell happened when the Mayor releases a statement about candy laced with PCP. Case closed! ..... Say what? As usual, there are people willing to take the explanation at face value and move on, but the skeptics will wonder how many weird ass things in this town can be explained away by drugs.

Birthdays: Zeke Miller
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd:
Weather: Significantly warmer than the day before, but wet and gray throughout the day with a few scattered storms; 45°/31°

EVENTS
→There's an uneasy feeling settling over the town today, though there's really no explanation for it. Maybe it's the weather, the knowledge that winter is on its way. Maybe its the aftermath from a strange, chaotic Halloween night. Maybe its something else. Everyone experiences the ominous feeling in their own way, and will probably chalk it up to whatever makes them feel better. But there's no denying that things feel a bit dark and foreboding all day today. Is it a sign of things to come?

Birthdays: Miriam D'Onofrio
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd:
Weather: Partly sunny with a soft breeze; 56°/41°

EVENTS
→ For the high schoolers, there is a huge pep rally in the gymnasium during last period to cheer on the football team as they play round one of the playoffs tonight. It's win or go home! Attendance is mandatory, even for those not exactly full of 'school spirit'.

→ The Chamberlain Wolves play their first playoff game of the post season at home tonight at seven o'clock this evening. Unfortunately, it's also their last - the team gets clobbered and loses by twenty one points. Embarrassing. Their season is over, but of course the town is proud of their Wolves anyway! And basketball season will be starting up in a few weeks, so... yay?

Birthdays: Caius D'Onofrio
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4th:
Weather: Not much change from the day before, Partly sunny, breezy and comfortable; 55°/42°

EVENTS
→ With the Fright Series complete, the Orion will be playing a bevy of 'classics' every Saturday night at 7pm and 10pm. Tonight will be the fantasy, romance, action adventure The Princess Bride.

→ Tonight is the full moon. If you lock your doors, that will keep the badness out, right?
