The first service will be held at 9:00am followed by a second service at 11:30am. Anyone who attends will immediately feel the kind of heavenly comfort that they might have been missing since the destruction of St. Dismas. At the pulpit? Father Richard Osborne. He may be new to town but he's charismatic and personable. There's something about Osborne that makes you feel like you could easily spill all of your sins (and secrets) to him, Catholic or not. Certain people in town may think Osborne looks somewhat familiar, though they can't quite figure out where they've seen him before. Not right away, anyway.Monday - 07.0975°/58° - SunnyNot much going on today.Tuesday - 07.1075°/54° - SunnyNot much going on today.Wednesday - 07.1176°/60° - SunnyNot much going on today.Thursday - 07.1273°/62° - Partly sunny; A nice breeze all dayNot much going on today.Friday - 07.1381°/60° - SunnyPoint Pleasant Arts Festival - Main Street will be closed to traffic for the arts festival. By evening, a pretty severe thunderstorm moves in.The ocean, usually pretty calm, has been rather rough today, making it dangerous for people who decide to take a boat out, or even venture onto the Point Pleasant pier. One could assume it's because of the storm coming in... at least it's not fog, right?
?Saturday - 08.1195°/95° - No relief from the heat. Thunderstorms all day with a nasty wind picking up midday. It's probably best to stay inside with such a nasty storm having settled in over Point Pleasant. The wind makes things worse, knocking out electrical lines and uprooting trees from the ground. There are even a few spontaneous fires that break out around town. By 11pm, however, the storm ends, rather abruptly. Thank goodness for that. The odd thing? No one seems to be able to enter, or leave, Point Pleasant. It's as though an invisible barrier has been placed around town. Even worse than that? All cell phone and internet usage is suddenly unavailable. Yikes.
